srks been around for awhile and has brought together sf players long before devestation streams. the fighting game community is pretty big and has grown ever since srk has been around. and 3s was the biggest game for a long time at tournies. then sfiv came out and all u newbies come along and think u know what the fighting game community is about. :wow:

I would’ve been fine with you guys not doing a stream at all. It makes sense that if you’re not there, then you don’t get to experience what’s going on. LOL, people sending hate mail through paypal? That’s like an all time low.

I’ve already made my case on why their should be a live stream of the main event. I give up though and will respect the decision.
I don’t like all the attacks on everyone though. Some of you have reasonable responses about how it’s too late to set up a pay for stream or are willing to just say be thankful their is a stream and maybe in the future it will be possible. I understand these arguments (still disagree but I do understand).
Ghaleon, I understand you are a sf pro, could beat most of us with 1 hand, and do an excellent job of organizing these tournies and I respect your decision to not stream the main event for whatever your reasons are. If I could make 1 recommendation though as someone with no experience running tournies but has seen the reaction over this it would be to just apologize to people for not streaming it, tell people that you hope to see them at the tournament, and that hopefully next year something can be worked out. My 2 cents but it’s your call on how to respond.
Now for everyone who has been absolutely TRASHING all negative comments and telling people to leave the scene, PLEASE stop being so hard on all us newbies. Yes some of us have been downright rude complaining (dude who sent paypal hatemail is a jerk) and deserve it but at least half the posts have been civilized.
I might have an 09 next to my sig but I’ve been playing sf since world warrior at arcades. I grew up playing sf2 series, Alpha series, sf3 series, Rival schools, star gladiator, vs series, jo jos, hell even pocket fighter. I’ve been a lurker on srk since 2002. I’ve never flown out to a major before but I would like to once I’ve got a few locals under my belt.
The scene has got a fresh new air to it that is exciting and I think a lot of us new players might surprise you and work our way up, it might take us 2-3 years because we are so far behind the seasoned pros but maybe we’ll get their eventually. Yeah their are so many of us that a lot of ass holes came on board as well but that happens. Not fair to tell us all to go to hell. If you’ve seen any of the live streams their are usually about 20 idiots constantly spamming the chat with complaints while THOUSANDS watch silently without complaining.
Anyways stop the hate and good luck with the tournament. I wish all of you attending a great time
I mentioned they should get some moderators in the chat this go around… EVO was a mess as far as the chat was concerned, ever other comment seemed like “THIS GAME SUCKS, WHERE IS SF4???” or “WTF IS THIS SHIT? WHEN IS SF4 COMING BACK??!”

Have you ever heard of evo before last year? Cause Evo main events WERE NOT AVAILABLE. Duc vs Sanford comes to mind. You’re an idiot if you think otherwise. Let me make it easy for you, evo streamed the tournament, SB streaming the tourney. Sounds like the same deal to me? Please explain how evo has “more coverage”. But I’m sure you can’t explain since THEY DON’T HAVE MORE COVERAGE. Please read before you post.

You think you are part of this community? Sorry to deflate you some more but you are not. This community is made of PLAYERS and those who aspire to be PLAYERS. If you just want to sit at home and watch, you are not part of the community, period. You are lucky to enjoy the fringe benefits of the stream which again was made possible for people who gasp PLAY. They’re not “alienating” anyone, you have made no effort except on your keyboard. You are either part of the community or you are not. They are not gonna cater to Joe Schmo who decided he wants to watch the stream this morning. Or anyone else who didn’t have the dedication to go. Anyone in the know who can’t make this event, already knows what’s up and they don’t complain and await the results via IRC and this site.

So what do you suggest for those who planned ahead and spent time and money to see the main event? I guess you think we should just screw those people cause you want to see this live? Why not buy the DVD or better yet, watch it on youtube. Why won’t you just wait for youtube since you are so sure it will make it on there? Can’t you then laugh at us like we are laughing at you? So why won’t you do that? Oh cause you don’t even believe that you will see it, hence the bitterness. Also before you even say the DVD is worthless after the event, you are wrong there too. Please read and educate yourself on how this community works before you post again. If you don’t like it you can go to gamefaqs we will not miss you, nor will we CHANGE ANYTHING FOR YOU. You are not more knowledgeable about this scene or how to expand it than ANYONE, how can you possibly think that was true?
