Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend this years Tougeki. I have the funds, but I’m having a little delay getting my visa from the Japanese Consulate. Don’t think its gonna happen by this weekend so no Tougeki this year.
Also, I seriously would have shown for this weekend but the UFC fight is at Staples this time and I’ve got a suite completely paid for it. But I wish you the best in Japan, man, and wanna thank you for all the knowledge you gave me at EVO, bro. Hopefully, if you come back to the U.S., some of us will be stronger!
Stop kidding around, 3s players aren’t super pimps, even Kuroda fanboy knows it about the man with the shirt. BOSS & MOV probably are though. Get on their level.[/details]
Guess there’s no BangBus to TJ, get off 1 stop early.
I’m trying to come on down, NorCal scrub jungle-ist, pad player, talk a lot - but I don’t do that so much in person.
Have funds to get down to SD Airport, but not rental car to get around traffic nuts SoCal. Would like to head there one night, 2 days total to make it worth it or have a place to crash from definite travel fatigue.
If anyone can help me out with that, I’d really appreciate the efforts thrown my way.& compensate you probably close to the amounts those Vegas cabs cost. For reference dang near a $20 bill every ride. Please leave me with money for food / beer to buy and share!
I would expect this to be a minor miracle given the timeframe and not being in the SF3 scene long. But given all the cool shit going down at EVO, miracles like me being a nobody & still find both the SF3 hotspots and coming across Kokujin 1st to give him the information on where that was the very next day, he grabs other Japanese players that we didn’t even know were there and we all had a great time. That was some miracle stuff, not to tout as something that makes me worthwhile and hang my hat on but just how well sometimes things can align so well to go beyond anything you dreamed about.
As a selfless guy, almost always putting others before myself, I know how to be grateful for those who offer help when they really did not need to. I don’t usually ask for help, even when I don’t have my shit together, always try to do it on my own. Sometimes you can’t and need helping hands so it shouldn’t be a loss of pride to ask for help right?
Long winded, wrap up, my bad. This might be all from late night thoughts I should be in bed right now for and not be writing down for public consumption. Need to see SoCal, natural habitat, get hazed as such - not particularly a colored haze pherai and some doods do though!
I will see about borrowing a car for this if Vince can’t go. And if that is the case I’ll PM the two of you.
HAX, Though, I’m not really sure if you’re asking to be driven to your hotel and back or if you’re asking me to host. I don’t have room for hosting but I’m sure we can figure something out if all you need is a ride ack to your hotel or whatever. We usually knock out at Ryan’s huehuehuehuehuehuehue
Would’ve been the coolest “Major for 3s” in the US for the next 2 years I bet, completely confident in that.
Didn’t have to be a giant venue fee [details=Spoiler](Nor Cal regionals San Fran State College, read it was $50-60 per player something ridiculous for just a cold dark college auditorium and metal chairs)[/details] bullshit money down Tournament
– Why “Tournament” at all since that = stress from organizing.
All us doods trying to get out there, considering Hotel accomodations, getting work schedules changed. Organizing smelly dude rides like rolling with ThongBoyBebop. no 1st hand exp, the 3s scene was told this on DrSub old old podcast show. Hey what about Podcast #2?!
yea i just think i got over my head. cant house that many ppl and the garage is a bit small. sorry. was a little buzzed when i made the original post and sounded really sick at the time.
podcast 2 is recorded. but me and yuuki were kinda drunk in it and repeated ourselves a lot. contemplating just scrapping it loll.
