Weekday? I’m sure a lot of us have work/school. I’m free on Friday still (for the summer at least) so obviously I vote for Friday. But I seriously think weekend is better, especially if you want more than 3 people to show up.
Entry fee or not, I don’t mind. I personally don’t like putting money on the line but if it’s a tourney, I’m confident I can win as long as Roger doesn’t show up. So I vote yes to entry fee. $5 max.
Good luck drawing people to Skybox for a tourney though. They replaced the CvS2 sticks with brand new ones, but people still got a bad impression of Skybox after years of playing on shitty machines.
not a bad idea, i miss the days of random small tournies. If you really want to do this (like how we had orbit weekly’s for a while), I could cap it at 16 players (though it probrably won’t come into play too often), in order to run things smoothly.
As for day and time, it’s probrably easiest to get ppl together on sunday afternoons, from what i can remember random skybox gatherings. if you start at noon, 1-ish, i’m pretty sure you can finish an 8-16 man bracket for two games by the time skybox closes.
Lastly, tournies are more fun when there’s money on the line. For the price, i think 3-5$ is max for small tournies, so it’s small enough so that new players would try to play, but big enough so that the winner still gets a fair amount of change.

Make it 2 dollah, max 3. That way, scrubs won’t worry about joining, and there’s an incentive too. Make sure you tell people a few days before the tourney too.

Ya I apologized for what I did cause I felt bad. I still feel your decision was weak which is what I meant, I just didnt word it properly.
The reason I think it was weak is because I’ve supported almost every orbit tournament (including the friday ones) despite not being able to play to the best of my ability on the orbit sticks. And I think it was obvious I learned my lesson and just wanted to enter the tournaments and have fun but for some reason I still posed some sort of problem. Thats whats weak.

the whole drinking thing though had nothing to do with tournaments though. it had to do with my responsibilities as a manager. i kept orbit open till 4am when security bitched me out because i was violating open hours. i had to forget about the tournament and maintain the responsibilty i have to the store.

I just want a list of people who would be willing to attend just so I know i’m not wasting my time on very small/‘weak’ tournaments. As noodleman suggested sunday would be a good choice for these tournaments however the old guy with the keys that can turn the machines on event mode will not be there. Would the old guy be willing to give the keys to the brown guy for sunday? Or should we move it to weekdays? On the entry fee, a $2 entry fee doesn’t sound bad =]

Having tourneys every Sunday would be an awesome idea, and if u can’t switch the machine to the other mode u guys r talking about, then have them on Fridays.
