Basically we have this incentive program at work which rewards people who do more waybills per night. Pretty much the same 4-5 people get it every couple weeks (I started getting it a month ago, its basically 120$ at everyone’s favourite store Walmart), anyways the head of the union feels it’s “unfair” that somehow the same people get it every month. The other real incentive is friday nights, where you get to leave after meeting 1.33x quota and get paid for full regardless. I’m probably the 3rd or 4th gone and I leave after 5 hours for an 8 hour shift.
So they start this whole petition thing, getting every old person who can’t do shit to sign it, and it’s just now going into motion. Basically it’s to kill the whole program. They feel its unfair that they “dont have no incentives”. So the higherups call this meeting, and it pretty much can’t end well.
The boss starts giving out retarded compromises, such as “if you meet quota you will be put into a hat and we leave it to chance”. Seems people think lotteries are incentives nowadays.
Anyways the head of the union (old black lady who kinda looks like the blob) starts ranting about how we should have no incentives, and that our incentive is the paycheck we get. I find it hard to hold my laughter here. Because once you meet quota, without incentives, there really is nothing to do here.
So after a while, the girl who pretty much types the fastest around here gets upset, makes her case for incentives and such, and in the middle of it, the blob pipes up
“Why should I care what you think?!”
The other girl starts ranting then about how everyone talks shit about her behind her back because she always gets to leave early and shit. And the blob’s best friend goes
“Behind her back? O NO SHE DIDNT (I laughed pretty hard here) ANYTHING I CAN SAY TO YOU I"LL SAY IT TO YOUR FACE”
Then she turns around to the blob,
“Did you hear what she said?! Why I oughta call HR on her ass, she can’t be spreading these lies about me, who does she think she is?!”
I decide whether or not to point out that she just went behind her back and talked shit, but decided to just watch, pretty much cuz I don’t want HR after my ass either, cuz they’re like…really scary I think? lol pretty much the most retarded threat of all time.
Anyways, they bicker back and forth for like 10 mins, it got so retarded. Highlights include “I’m a human and have an opinion just like you!” and “I hope you get carpal syndrome” (Yes, not carpal TUNNEL syndrome, “carpal syndrome” I just put on my ipod (turns out there IS some use for solitaire on that thing), and next thing I know the girl is crying and leaving the meeting.
At this point its just like a meeting from the Office where everyone just walks off silently, no one really wants to say anything, but you know they’re laughing inside.
That’s hilarious, you work at one lawless place my friend, I would like to be updated on how thick the tension is in the office after that.
