Saturn Fighter Stick mod-ability?

I found a site selling the old SS Fighter Sticks, and am wondering both what the quality of the stock stick/buttons is and how feasible it would be to swap out at least the buttons, possibly the stick.

I’m new to stick modding (but I put convex buttons on my NES controller earlier today ) and I was planning on attempting to mod out my Green Goblin with Sanwa, but I like the look of this one and the position of the Start button a lot better than my Agetec. The extra couple of buttons/speed settings would be a nice bonus, too.

Additionally, with the Saturn --> DC conversion (Total Control Plus), should I expect input lag? I’ve heard good things, but that would be a major factor in my decision if its a factor.

Thanks.

The stock parts suck but from what I understand, you can mod it fairly easily. I am not sure if the PCB is any good but you can always put in a PS1 Dualshock PCB and use a lag free converter to play it on your Dreamcast. Urth sold me an almost total conversion of one a few months ago.

Do you mind sharing which site you found these on? That would be great

Could somebody compare the stock parts of the SS Fighter Stick to the Green Goblin’s. If they’re equal to that I wouldn’t even be in a rush to swap them out. I learned Marvel on the Goblin and I’ve been beasting with it until my stick decided it doesn’t want to go back to neutral. Too many years w/o a tune-up.

I will leave it at this: the green goblin’s buttons at least use microswitches, unlike the saturn fighting stick

Personally I think the Japanese Virtua Stick is better than the Hori. It uses microswitches as well.
