Description 
Saturday Slugfest is currently the Pacific Northwest’s largest monthly fighting game tournament series. It is organized by GameClucks in Lynnwood, WA (just 25m north of Seattle) and sponsored by Another Castle Video Games, NOS Energy Drink, Plantronic Gamecom, and Eightarc.

History 
Since March of 2009, GameClucks has been involved in the FGC with events ranging from weeklies to monthlies to our region’s yearly event, Northwest Majors. Most of the region’s top players have come to GameClucks events to compete or hang out including former EVO champions such as Jason “AfroCole” Cole ('02 ST), Spark ('11 BB), and coL|Filipino Champ ('12 UMvC3).

Note: Early registration goes until 30m before the start of the event. All players who register early will receive seeding based on skill and region. Normal registration then goes until we have advanced through the bracket far enough to where we can no longer add new entrants. All players who are added during this time will be placed in the next available slot and will not receive seeding.

BYOC is strongly encouraged, however, players may be able to lend equipment if needed. 
If you play on pad, you are required 
Players typically show up an hour before their event starts. We highly recommend you do the same.

This event is part of our PNWR2E where we are sponsoring 3 players (flight, hotel, and registration) to attend EVO 2013. Two of these sponsorships will be awarded to the winner of an invitational 8-man tournament for both AE 2012 and UMvC3. The final sponsorship will be decided by raffle. All attendees earn raffle tickets (1 for our weeklies, 4 for our monthlies) that will earn them a shot at winning the final sponsorship.

i just found out sbout this!!! i never knew there was a scene in seattle (always thought it was further up north) i work at the sony in uvillage and finish at 7 so im gonna pop down after n see how it all is!

Our next Saturday event will most likely be on August 4th (a week earlier than usual). Thank you to everyone who came by! We had 36 individual entrants not including those who came just for casuals or to hang out. The matches were great and that was the most fun I’ve had at an event in a while. Our numbers were what they were not only due to our regulars, but to our non-regulars as well. Thank you again for coming by! I wish I could’ve talked more with you all ^^;;

Our next monthly, Saturday Slugfest III, will take place on Saturday, September 15th with the addition of P4U. As usual, we will continue to hold our weekly Thursday Night Fights at GameClucks and Dante’s, once again, with P4U. I hope to see people there!

Our next monthly, Saturday Slugfest IV, will take place on Saturday, October 20. This will the first event to be part of the Pacific Northwest Road to EVO 2013 series. Three sponsorships are up for grab this year: 1 for AE 2012, 1 for UMvC3, and 1 will be raffled off to attendees! More details can be found on our Facebook post

Besides that, we’re back at GameClucks for Thursday Night Fights weekly tournaments and casuals (now with TTT2!).

It’s been a while since I updated this thread on SRK, but I am looking to change that.

Since September we have continued with our Saturday Slugfest series and have decided to invest further in it with our Pacific Northwest Road to Evo 2013 series where we are sponsoring (flight, hotel, and registration) three players to Evo 2013. Two of these sponsorships will be awarded to the winner of two 8-man invitationals for AE 2012 and UMvC3. The final is available to all attendees in the form of raffle tickets earned at our monthlies and weeklies. Four times the regular amount of raffle tickets are earned at our monthlies.

Last month we held Saturday Slugfest VII and we had the following games and winners

SFxT 2013 is being added to this event!
Portland is bringing at least four players for VF5FS!
MK9 has players such as Shujinkydink and more coming down from Canada!
UMvC3 players such as BG|Rattana and Hiipower (formerly DrDoomKills) who were unable to make last month’s will be coming for this one!
AE 2012 and KOF XIII have sparked a lot of rivalries and we will likely see players playing not only for more money, but for pride as well.
TTT2 may see a format switch that players have been hoping for with many from even further away making the trip!
SCV has experienced a revival as of late and I am very excited to see what happens there
Finally, I will win P4U ._.

Besides the tournaments, this is the single best way to get to know the Seattle scene. If you want to find out where to get casuals near you, consider making the trip and hanging out with us! Chances are that we share the same interests

Northwest Majors V is taking place on June 7-9 at Highline Community College! More details will be announced in the upcoming months on our website and on Facebook on our event page.

Saturday Slugfest X, will once again be taking place on the 3rd Saturday, April 20th. There are two more events left to qualify for the PNWR2E.

Until then, I will be attending the final SeattleVersus Pot Bonus Battles at Gamebreakerz in Auburn, WA. I hope that players will come support this last event!
