If certain games have a low turn out will you be dropping them from events?
Just so you’re aware; tournament hosting is a lot of work. When somebody is running their first tournament in hopes of pleasing you and people like you; it’s best not to cause headaches for that person to scare them off tournament hosting in the first place.
I just don’t get why you’re legit fearful. Second, with no disrespect intended, who are you? Have we spoke? I just don’t get why you’re making statements threatening attendance. I mean you’re here, apparently from Saskatoon. Why not try to make this a better place instead of bringing constant negativity (Although I do realize this isn’t your aim.)
From my perspective you are one of two things: Legitimately afraid of Ricardo. (which would be hilarious.) Do you not feel as if the other people would help with Ricardo Removal ™
Or trolling the thread; equally obsessed about Ricardo as Ricardo is about trolling Calgary and anyone else who will listen.
I’m sorry, I just took it disrespectful that you would threaten a tournament host when it’s his first time doing it. It’s a lot of stress; and the last thing he needs is some idiot saying things like that in my opinion.
JcReans. I suggest making a facebook thread about a tournament in addition to having the SRK thread. This will help you in identifying numbers. With the amount of fake accounts on this site I’m sure you’d rather put a face behind whatever attendance threats you’re receiving.

First of all, I didn’t threaten anyone. I stated a fact. Considerably less people will be there if Ricardo is. I’m causing headaches? I’m giving him a heads up to prevent inevitable headaches if he doesn’t do what I suggested.
It’s not about fear. Games are for fun. He isn’t someone I would want to spend any amount of time with, ever. I like street fighter, but not enough to be in a small room with a pathetic, racist, sexist little pustule. I have standards for myself.
Finally, to be frank you need to grow the fuck up. I’m not sure if you struggle with english/logic or whatever, but you’re doing a LOT of twisting around of my words. Your suggestion that ric be allowed to attend gatherings despite his psychotic social behaviors simply because ‘hes good at the game and we want to get better’ is adolescent and hilarious.

In this thread alone the only people I offended were the Calgary guys and Evan and even then nothing I said remotely hinted on threatening behaviour that would overlap to real life. Not to mention that the tournament is hosted in a public venue with plenty of staff on hand so even if someone did have the intention to cause trouble they would not get very far on that.
I also already offered my support and encouragement to this event and said I was looking quite forward to it so I’m not sure why you think I would want to ruin it. Everyone in this thread has been really excited about this news including me so I don’t understand why you feel the need to drag out drama that no one is starting. If you don’t want to go then cool cause no one is forcing you but at the very least you could desist with these constant unprovoked attacks on me cause they have done nothing but derailed the discussion.

Anyways I’m working on getting that day off so I can attend but right now it seems 50/50. I’m hoping I can though but I gotta be honest I’m a bit nervous about how I’ll do at the tournament since it’s been close to 2 years since I played. I wonder how the other sask players have levelled up in that time or if everyone collectively stopped playing SF4 seriously as well. Regardless it should be a great time and I’m gonna put in as much training one with Dan as I can from now till Friday.

This I feel is the center of the issue. You are under the impression that you can act like a complete psychopath online, and use language normally suited only to serial killers, then expect to meet up with these people in person and have it make no effect whatsoever. You think that after I’ve seen you threaten ~10 people and act like the biggest douchebag I’ve ever seen, I shouldn’t let it bother me because it wasn’t directed at me. TBH about the tournament, I agree that it is something, and something is better than nothing, but I feel a lot of concessions are being made because JC needs to write some paper. Considering attendance, it won’t really even be a tourny, it will be a casual get together that we will have to pay hi tech ~15$ for, to play on their bad setups. This is something that would be better at the university or even in someone’s living room. Yes of course organizing something like this takes work, but it seems most of the organizational work is being outsourced to hi tech at the players expense.
I don’t think you’re so stupid that you don’t realize you could make all the drama go away by leaving. I think you realize that. I think you simply don’t care, and you’re evidently lying about your motives.

he’s not a real competitor in SF, he doesn’t care about the games or getting better, so I doubt he actually wants to show up and play any more. obviously bans from any kind of event are well warranted and I would encourage them but really in the end he just wants to get everyone’s jimmies rustled
A new community won’t come from a tournament which will mostly be attended by people who are already part of something.

The old community was build off the HT tournament hosted 3 years so I don’t see why it can’t happen again. Unlike in the last though we have experience and know what works and doesn’t work. I’m not saying it’s a "sure thing"by any means but I don’t see why it’s not at least a possibility.
