So no one is carpooling down to Regina willing to let me tag along? I’m offering $20 for gas, as well, if that sweetens the pot.
Rik: I’m getting accustomed to SFXT. I’ve been practising bnb combos with Raven. I haven’t set my secondary character in stone yet, but I am leaning towards Nina. I am not sure if that is a good fit, but I am liking them together, so far. I haven’t played online yet, still want to have Nina’s bnb combos down pat, and some reliable combos off launchers using both characters. Remember we complained about chains not being comboable into special attacks? Well, I realized the other night that it doesn’t really matter, hell, Raven’s bread and butter is links only, and it doesn’t bother me one bit.
I don’t think anyone has offered to give a ride yet because they’re probably not too sure how they’re getting there. I’d offer a ride, but I’m most likely moving to Regina that weekend, so you wouldn’t have a return trip.
I’m not sure if this will be much help, but you can cancel chains with EX moves.
That’s understandable street, especially since gen does require some tight timing. Next time I’m in CGY I’m definately down for some games.
Dorian: yeah I usually just use confirms or links as they do the most damage. Links are only practical during footsies, pressure and mixups. Raven is a good keepaway, have you looked into chun?
Yes I know, we were just thinking it was weird how you couldn’t cancel regular special attacks at the end of chain combos or in the middle somewhere, like the MvC series of games. But spending a little more time with the game, I can see why that is, now.
Haven’t touched Chun yet. But to be honest, the only game I’ve ever liked her in was 3S, where she felt the most “natural”. But, shouldn’t knock it before I try it, right?
She kind of reminds me of her 3s counterpart, but just not as strong. I also suggest rolento and possibly poison but I think rolento would be a better bet.
I remember Xian was playing casuals with others on the station next to us (or whoever I was playing) on the final day of CC. Probably not memorable since my Yang was so bad, haha. But whatever, just wanted to know out of sheer curiosity.
Ah, I see. I remember Dustin because I sat down and played him soooo long. I guess I didn’t play you more than 25 matches otherwise I’d remember you for sure
Yang is a nice character btw. So sick to see good Yangs. Idk why I don’t feel the same when I see good Yuns.
You know I was watching some SC2 last night and I honestly cant understand the hype or why it’s so widely popular. I mean it’s just tiny army figures shooting and blasting each other…am I missing something?
Went online and won maybe 3 matches out of … 20 or so? lmao
Wow, even attempting Raven’s links online with even a slight lag … it’s retardedly frustrating. And nothing’s worse than missing a normal that leads into special attack, where that special attack is the only thing to come out, killing a combo and throwing you into the opponent’s face wide open.
To be honest, my Nina fared MUCH better, suprisingly. At least she has semi-decent AA and some nasty tricks up her sleeve that isn’t affected terribly by horrendous lag. During the worst of it, I just sat back, and threw surikens all day.
Still, it’s reminding me of the first time I pick up any fight game, that awkward phase where your opponent is constantly in your face, and you have no idea how to get them out of there. Hate that awkward transition period. Maybe went to online matches too early. I still have no idea when a good time to bring my team mate in is, nor of any good switch out combos.
Same happened to me, my first week I barely won a match. Law and cammy were a difficult pair especially since law is a bottom tier, but luckily after about a week of losing every match I got my shit together and leveled up. Chao for example beat my ass 10-0 in all of our initial sets so trust me with enough effort you can easily get good I’m about 2 weeks time.
