That would be cool, I’ll try my best to get something going but I’ll be moving into my new place downtown so I might not have the time. I’ll try though since it’s been about a good year since Sask has had anything local.

What do you guys think about sfxt so far?

Personally speaking I’d say it looks very scrubby, like a mashers best friend.

Well, if trollthis actually is leaving, this thread is going to get a lot less… flamey? Spammy? Trolly? Something to that effect.
Not that they were a problem specifically, but with you Ric you pretty much fueled each other constantly. It was practically a two way trollfest.

Anyways, SFxT is cool I guess… I dunno. Imma need to repurchase AE and possibly but SF3OE on my next paycheck, so I’ll be up in those soon.
Also now that I remember, if anyone wants my new GT its PonyLosha. My brother keeps forgetting to go on my old account and add me as a friend & change the bio to say that my new gamertag is __

True true my bad, well on the topic of sfxt I was reading about some soon to be revealed mechanic and I get the feeling it could potentially ruin the game. It seems bad enough with the cross assult special and I get the feeling this new mechanic will be a ultra-ish move.

Edit: yeah I’m getting into that sound too losha. I got into it this summer when the girl I was seeig at the time was taking me to every live dj night and introducing me to all her musician friends. I think I’ll check out Sydney blue live while on this topic, her stuff is pretty good and she’s not bad on the eyes.

My input on the SFxT stuff, I dont think It will be ultra ish. I dont even think it will really be comeback kinda thing. My guess is some kind of special universal move (counter?/parry?) that you can only use 3 times in a set/round.
I dont think they’ve set strong+forward to anything yet, so… (but I havent really payed attention too much too)

I don’t mind skrillex, but I’m not really partial to any performers since my only requirement is that the beat is something I can move to and that sounds catchy,…I’m a cheap rhythm whore lol. Don’t sweat the bars though man it isn’t as exciting as you think, sure the hook ups with drunk sluts and occasional good music is nice but shit get stale after awhile especially in Sask ha.

I hope your right about the new mechanic, I would hate to think of how this game would turn out with the cross assult and comeback included. Also the combo engine is super lame, you just press buttons for easy combos wtf!

when i play fei long, i essentially feel like a more powerful vega, with chain combos and a command grab, and a DP. the only thing you’re really missing is vega’s walk speed, EX FBA, and frame trap diversity.

I think i saw you say that you wanted to improve your fundamentals, so you woul play Ryu. I think Vega is pretty similar to Fei so if you wanted to work on your footsie game (which i feel you bypass a lot in favour of pressure) you might get some ideas playing Vega.

the common reasoning is the shadows and the black dots have something to do with each other. that seems too obvious altho you can’t rule out a comeback mechanic in this day and age. both SF and Tekken have them… it could be evil mode or something? like a tekken rage mode?

the game’s combo system seems so incredibly flexible it could also be a burst that can have 3 per character stocked or something. damage scaling kicks in pretty hard after awhile but with all the options you have to extend combos and do more powerful moves, a burst might be desirable.

callign the game for mashers is stupid. it has chain cancels sure but when you actually sit down and play it, mashing out your chains doesn’t get you anywhere. doing magic series into launch into a lame 2 hit combo with your other character does practically no damage… that is only a good way to safely tag characters out. you can exchange-cancel moves (ie. do a DP then press focus buttons to tag in your partner) but that doesn’t make anything safe on block because the tag animation is very long, so I don’t think there will be much DP FADC kind of stuff in this game. throws do very little damage and have really bad range, so there is less incentive to mash on crouch tech all the time.

the whole system seems so wide open and flexible it might be mash-happy at first but in the long run I think it’ll be an insanely technical game with a very high skill ceiling

haha yeah Ive been playing vega for like the last few weeks just before my ban got lifted. When I took a break from SF4 this summer I got really bored with fei so I wanted someone new but familar to use. Vega’s core style seems similar enough to fei but clearly he isnt as powerful so it was interesting because im forced to think more and not be as reckless. The issue is that ive relied so much on fei’s normals and just his general good qualities that its made me become sloppy with my fundamentals. I dont play smart with fei, in a lot of ways I just auto pilot with him and depend on his strengths to win. It wasnt like in SF2 when I mained fei because I had no choice but to think smart with him since the zoning game was very powerful in SF2, but with SF4 fei I dont feel the pressure of having to out think my opponents as much as I just have to worry about imposing fei’s tools.

Thats why I like using vega because he reminds me of the kind of characters Im used to maining in games. When I played him i was foreced to really think about my attacks and defense and it really made me realize how much shit I get away with when I do use fei and how lazy I became at sf. Funny thing is that like 2 years ago im pretty sure I sent you a pm asking you how to play as vega because at that point in time I hadnt decided on a main yet so vega was a potential character for me. If it wasnt for the bruce lee factor in fei id probably would have mained vega or possibly gouken,…I like using gouken but vega feels more natural for some reason.

Ha yeah lets do that next time, i cant do vega’s combo’s all that well but i got the basic idea of spacing with him I think. Fei shouldnt be too hard to use, like you said hes just basically a stronger vega in a lot of ways.

Possibly cody but what from what Ive seen and was told by a friend who had the chance to play SFXT at E3, he remarked that the games combo came out fairly easily and that a non player could literally pull some good combos just from mashing alone. I dont think mashing will dominate or become viable since no fighting game has ever been won at high level by mashing, but its a aspect of the game I wish didnt exist. Like why couldnt the combo engine be more like SF4 or MK9 with the timing. I just hate how modern capcom fighters have that"mashing"quality in them, it makes the game feel a tad bit scrubby.

As for the comeback mechanic, im pretty sure its something like that. Maybe something like a custom combo system or 10% on attacks. Personally I think the game should just have high damage output to avoid the need for comeback mechanic. Look at SF2, that game has some of the best comebacks in fighters and its all from the universal high damage combos the cast has.

SXT Looks good, ric why you gotta hate on every new game. I gotta agree with Sak here, the game looks likes its gonna get mad technical at high levels.

also How come everyone seems to have forgotten about K O Fucking F XIII? October 25th!. Game looks amazing and i honestly see no real bullshit mechanic.Just looks solid.

Haha im just afraid of new games after what happened with MVC3, I dunno I think im 1 track minded with fighters so anything that doesnt play like SF i instantly hate heh. I hope it turns out good and Ill be maining law and yoshi assuming fei isnt in it. Also yes I agree KOF12 will be amazing,…no mashing, no comeback mechanic but unfortunately I think that big wrestling dude is super overpowered. He can destroy a team with just 2 bars or something crazy like that.

Not sure if your implying KOF12 never happened and this is the real KOF 12… But ya raidens drop kick is crazy shit, you better pick that game up, support Snk there a great company and they pute a huge effort to bring kof back from 12 and to make it a top notch game. Hes not THAT overpowered though, Just counterhit drop kick combos can do like 80-100%

You mean KOFXIII, KOFXII is ass and I still have your copy. And yes, Raiden is overpowered, but not broken. And about no bullshit mechanics… Hyper Drive Mode is bullshit.

Yeah i mean kof13 lol, yeah ill be picking it up for sure. I already have my team, kyo,ryo and beni. I support SNK a lot, i have all the games they released in the last few years. I wish we could get a CVS3 sometime soon.
