RH… yet it never occured to you that you can just use a situational counter and use j. mp, which i wouldn’t beat - if you spaced it - clearly you’re so good at controlling space, right? vega is one of, if not the most reliant character on appropriate spacing and zone control. he is ridiculously fucking hard to play. fei long’s spacing game is pretty straight forward, it’s just really hard to get around and he can punish mistakes very cleanly for a lot of damage. it’s really funny to me reading jozhear’s post above and imaging how frustrated he must be trying to explain that there is in fact a character that plays a similar game to fei long, but with a much steeper learning curve and some different options
next we’ll be hearing about how chun is a brainless character with free anti-air
Vega is one of my favorite characters, wish I could use him well. I main him in SF2 but just can’t play him well in SSF4. Izuna drop is by far the most awesome move in SF, IMO.
All’s I know is Vega is hard as mofo to use well.
As for character’s I’d like to see from SF3… Hugo is probably the only character I’d like to see brought back. The rest of 'em I’m fine with leaving back in SF3.
Not really interested in SFxT because, well, frankly, I don’t like Tekken, and I don’t like tag team battling.

Ill be honest jamie, I dont take vega as a serious contender so Im really reckless when I fight him. I could just lame it out and stay at HP rekka range and wait untill you get bored and decide to move in(which by the way has worked everytime I do it) but instead I just decide to rush him because in my mind im thinking"yeah its just vega, who cares what I do". Im notorious for my chicken wings because a great deal of the competition I fight dont know the concept of blocking or just waiting things out, hence why cody and a lot of dudes from calgary get destroyed. Also im well aware of the counters to vega but like I said my over confidence in the fight betrays me, I actually wish vega had some scary good tools so that I could approach the fight seriously. Which brings me to the point I was making about vega, that he simply isnt a good character in SF4. He’s very linear with limited options and unless your opponent is inexperienced agaisnt him what damage can really do at high level. If you play stupid agaisnt him and make a list of unfored errors agaisnt him like I do then sure of course he can win, but what happens if you dont fight the match like a idiot and apply some thought…sorry to say but its kind of easy mode.
I could pick any other character and do good, ill prove it next time your online. Remember SF4 isnt my first fighter I mained fei back in SF2 when he was almost the worst character in the game. In SF2 I was one of the top 3 fei players online and the only people I would lose to were guys making top 8 at major tournaments, so spare me that BS about fei being the only reason I win. That would be like me saying the only reason you ever win is because no one in calgary is good.
lol I dont even know how you figure this. We only played a total of 8-10 sets from SSF4 till now and when we first played I lead our sets. Around the time at canada cup you started to lead by a tiny bit and then of course the tournament matches. However if we were to count all the matches Ive won vs you it would be about even, not the 100-0 you try to make it out to be. Also theres a big difference between me and cody, if you and him play 30 games straight you would handily win the majority. If me and you did the same it would be a far different story and if anything im very confident in saying id take the majority.
Also jamie why the hell are you so mad…dude im not bashing you by saying vega is a bad character thats just the way he is in the game. Like damn i cant even say a opinion without someone taking issue with it and this wasnt even a offensive opinion!

Vega can punish all of your rekkas on block, always, and Jamie never misses those. you can’t just sit back and try and rekka. I was baiting rekka from Mago by stutter stepping and punishing it pretty easily… rekka is chiefly a WHIFF PUNISHER in the Vega matchup because it is too unsafe to rely on.
