Oh yeah nelson was rocking a pretty good keep away game with Deadpool, even connecting into supers a number of times. He did pretty good considering he doesn’t really play fighters but thats exactly the point I was making. If nelson tried half the things he did last night in a game like KOF98 or 3s he wouldn’t get that far yet iN MvC3 he is rewarded with a big flashy high damaging combo. Even MvC2 wasn’t as effortless and overly rewarding…sigh I miss the old days of gaming. Anyways the missions and 5$ eh…well I guess it can cover a cheap MM for calgary next month lol. Besides its no problem for me, I can do all the missions and all those fancy combos posted on eventhubs and SRK in less then a hour.
Alright time to defend mvc3 again. Evo thats insane i highly doubt you could do all those in less than an hour CONSISTENTLY. Anyone can do a combo its something else when you do do it 100% when you need it in a match. I use to play CVS2 so i know high execution but your defense is absolutely ridiculous. are you saying that what makes you good is your execution? Execution should always be part of a game but from what your saying it sounds like you have no mind games, gimmicks, or just decent strategy if your so upset that the execution barrier is so low, this is also coming from the guy who plays HDRemix which was designed behind the concept of “not always trying to do a move but to know when to do it”
Am tired of this execution crap. If somones beating you because you can both do great combos it means hes outsmarting you, hes outplaying you. If your falling back on execution to be good, are you really a great player? am not directing this at you but to everyone, its sad to see execution go by the wayside sure, but theres many other important things that makes a great player. if theres new up and comers getting good because they dont have the fastest hands or the most precise timings good! were expanding the community.
Am tired of this execution shit. If you can do everything then go dominate the game and get the easy money. You honestly just seem either intimated by having to start over and possibly not be the best, or your just a true elitest and think that if you cant do arbitraley fucking crazy combos in kof98 with Irio that your not a good player then have fun you’ll drop down the wayside soon with all these new games coming out that are cutting down on the execution barrier.
Just to draw a comparison. Am a huge SC player, SC1 was so much more difficcult to play in terms of micro and macro. SC2 comes out and theres multiple building select auto repair attack move (Who thought that was a good idea) Your workers can automatically go to mining instead of popping back to your base constantly. IT was made MUCH easier. Yet! all the great players are still great because theres still fucking unbelievable in there strategies and execution. So you moving to a game like marvel is actually only gonna make you better since you can already do all that shit and apparently more with all your skills.
Could also draw a comparison with AC4 to ACFA but i’ve said enough you get the point am trying to get across. No disrepect to you at all just sayin what i believe to be the truth.
LMFAO.
Then, you shouldn’t have lost to your brother if he doesn’t even play fighting games…If you’re so good, then start winning.
LMAO 36 characters x 10 missions +whatever youre talking about on SRK. If you can do that in an hour, I’d pay a lot more than $5. I bet you couldn’t do it in 15 hours. I’d put $100 on it. Too bad we can never take your word for it, since you clearly haven’t stopped your lying yet. Photographic proof of all missions complete, and your game time played and I will pay up. GO!
I keep hearing from everyone and yourself how you have no time to play, etc. But you are online for hours a day. I don’t know why you even bother making this shit up when it’s so easy to see that it’s lies.
The missions and combos are child’s play for me, but 100$ is steep for you so I think we can just make it a nice 20$…oh and FYI the front page of SRK has combo videos/trials for MVC3 sometimes. Anyhow I wish I had hours to play a day but it never works out that way anymore, but I suppose it’s for the best since I dont really see any good opponents online anymore these days. Also I won against Nelson and my issue wasn’t about winning or losing, it was over just how simplistic and rewarding the MVC3 engine is.
However since I am a fair guy I’ll indulge MVC3 a few more days and see if its worth my time and attention. So far im not at all impressed at all by sent and his effects on the tiers in this game…
When I first starting learning fighters I went on combo video and would practice all the high damaing/fancy ass combo’s with the characters I would main. I practiced so much that it go to the point where I could pick up doing hard combos very quickly.
My biggest problem is that imputing the combo’s is too easy and the results don’t reflect the effort put into performing them. Like in SF2 a 4 hit combo can take 60% but the timing in linking was very strict so you damn well deserved he damage you got off it. I dont get the sense with this game…I dont feel like I deserve the damage im inflicting.
I actually never liked that about HDR and had several disputes with sirlin over that very matter. However I mained SF2T well before I played in HDR and SF2T gives no free passes with the imputs lol.
It isn’t just the execution though, the overall feel of MVC3 is what bothers me. Although on the note of expanding the community, I dont mind things being simplified but I dont care for the "training wheels"approach Capcom is implementing into there new fighters…I prefer the old school approach.
The issue for me right now is that if I play MvC3 I will want to be one of the best, and that process is a grind and I don’t have the time for it right now especially with all the tournaments I’ll be going this year for SF4. In addition to the complaints I have of mvc3, learning the game at a high level just isn’t a option at this point.
We’ll see what happens, I’ll wait till the game developes more before I jump in…right now its AE and 3S lol.
It doesn’t matter how steep it is. It won’t happen. In fact, I’ll make it a lifetime offer. That way you have years to practise. Make a new account or something, or before and after pictures of your gametime. All missions complete in one hour. GO! :3p:
Anyways, obviously you’re entitled to not liking this game. That’s not my bone of contention. Good luck in your SF4 tournaments.
lol It isn’t that hard though which is the funny thing so it’s very easily within the realm of possibility, so maybe over the weekend when I have more time I can put some work into it.At any rate as far as the game is concerned I don’t necessarily dislike the game rather just particular features within it. Mainly the accessibility which I feel is too severe, then again this unfortunately appears to be a symptom of modern Capcom fighters so it is what it is I suppose. I’ll see how this game turns out in a few months and if it looks good Ill give it my time.
Anyways I also forgot to address this point that Kharrn made so I’ll do it now…it was kind of late when I responded so I didn’t touch on everything lol. Kharrn said that I might be intimitated by this game for the fact that I will no longer be top but in all honesty this couldn’t be further from the truth. The reason being because I’m competitive by nature but I don’t just play these games to win, rather I play for the thrill of competition. Winning or losing don’t matter to me because its all in the time I have during the matches that is the most fun.
Believe it or not winning all the time does get boring, and when you win as often as I do it can certainly dull the edge off you’re ambition to continue playing. That’s a big part of the reason why I don’t play as often anymore aside from the fact that I’m crunched for time most days. As cool as it is to dominiate a community and to be a top player, it means nothing if you can’t have good competion every so often that can actually test you’re worth as a player. I would rather win after a close fight that would require all my skill and attention as opposed to winning without any effort or thought which unfortunately is how I win agaisnt all my competition locally and even online(with few exceptions online).
If anything I look forward to losing because losing gives me the ambition to improve and overcome my faults. That’s why even if I was at the bottom of all the players in Saskatoon I’d still play…in fact that would be pretty fun actually. In SF4 I have nothing to aim for anymore…I just win so easily that its become mundane and ineffectual for my competitive needs. Thats why if I do main another game I have to make sure its worth my time and attention and thus far MVC3 is too young for me to determine that yet.
you’re all babies, any one of you can show me that you can do any character’s bnb in Fate:Unlimited Codes for 20 bucks
Edit: offer also stands for Hokuto no Ken
I remember you talking about those games but I forget how high level footage looks like…if the combo’s are as easy as MvC3 then why bother.
you’re completely incapable, if you think that doing a few one-frame links in a combo like in SSF4 is anything to talk about then you shouldn’t even bother
Probably wouldn’t be a issue, granted might take sometime but its nothing impossible.
you play pad, thats a sure sign that it would be impossible for you
Not sure if a game is good because it has impossible combos… Sure the games great but i doubt the reason is impossible combos.
I’ll give it props though because people who are good are extremely dedicated so mad respect. But its also another shining example of how you can only play one or two fighting games competitively at a time.
To say people play it to begin with is probably misleading, while they do play the game at SBO a large portion of japanese top players who picked the game up coming from gg quit because the execution was too hard.
Personally I busted my ass to learn one character’s bnb, it was so hard I had to quit and try to learn a different, slightly easier character instead.
I moved from one that had 6469 4217 motions to one that had 6239 6239 motions and slower jump-cancellable specials, so that downgrades the number of one-frame “links” by quite a bit.
Even today, seeing SBO players drop their bnbs halfway through isn’t anything out of the usual.
If mvc3 was similar to sf I wouldn’t mind maining it but its a completely different game. Not to mention that I would need more the a hour a day to get really good at it and I can barely manage 30 minutes lol. I guess thats probably another reason why I don’t want to main it just yet, my competitive nature would make me want to be either the best or one of the best so I wouldn’t be happy with just being “average”. The unfortunate thing is that to be one of the best you gotta put in the time and effort into fighting good competition, practicing timing and combo’s, learning matches, dveloping good habbits and ect.
Its all very time consuming which is why im happy with just maining SF4 right now, I already know the game so I can just pick it up and leave it whenever I want regardless if its for a few minutes a day or a few hours a day. I also unfortunately dont have"hours a day to play"like some people believe, so SF4 is just more practical and realistic for me right now and for the distant future.
Dar: if that game was here I’d give it a try but I’m guessing its hard to find. Also dont get me wrong, im not doubting the game is hard to learn but Im up for it. I wouldnt assume that because I can do 1 frame links in SF4 that I can do BnB’s easily in this game…that would be like saying I can feed a rat lizard’s food because they both have tails.
its more like thinking that you can keep both rats and T-rex as pets because they both have tails
Well the more I play MVC3 the more interested I am in it, but I realize I’ll never be "really good"at it so it’s appeal imediately wears off for me. I think fighters in general are becoming dull to me though, with MVC3 being the focus right now and with SF4 fading away untill AE comes out Im thinking of going back to some old school favorites for now or trying some alternatives. In paritcular some of the old classic fighters from SNK and some rare titles on the side.
Ricardo Aguilera: “Just had my first match in MVC3…let’s just say I will never again play that game again.”
Ricardo Aguilera: “I got bodied…like hard by a guy who told me he isn’t even that good and he was using trish, felicia and x-23 lol. Im never again touching MVC3, I’m done already.”
MvC3 is so, so much more fun than SF4.
If anyone wants to play, I’m always up for some matches! I have a lot of things to work on.
I’m not sure about this game online. I’ve only tried it a little bit but it seems pretty terrible =\
Ric: Yo man this games so easy i can do all the combos so easy within like 1 hour (Meaning all the 100%) and rushdowns so easy (You think thatd benefit you) its just so easy.
Ric: Just played my first mvc3 game and got bodied by somone who said he wasint that good never playing this game even though apparently everythings so easy i still got owned. Are you serious man? stop trollin the game.
Am with Dustin here. Games amazing am having so much fun playing it. The online is terrible though so am gonna have to maker it to all the meet ups if am ever gonna improve, gotta get my train on.
Also shout out to merlin and his facebook comments mad respect. Plus ya ric why are you hyping 3S online whens its been online for how long? with a better netcode?
