So almost every other thread here is having some kind of MVC3 tourny so I figured Sask should have one too. I’m not really a fan of the game but I’ll put some effort to improve, and hopefully a few other’s in town will as well. I was thinking something at the education building, 10$ entry and the pot is divided between 1st/2nd/3rd. I could possibly get something worked out at the cove but Im thinking the education building is a sure bet.
As much as I would be interested in a MvC3 tournament, I’m just too damn busy for the next few weeks. I’ll be lucky if I can spare some time to play it tomorrow when I pick it up 
I can’t even get a hour for SF4 let alone any real training time for this game, but I still just wanna do a tourny to stay connected with players and because I’ve been told from a friend of some other talent in town…hopefully I can lure them out this way.
Evo, did you reserve a copy for mvc3 or are you just going to buy it? Odd question, but…
Im just going to buy it, I dont think ive even had the time to go out to the store and reserve a copy lol…boy I gotta get more even if it is just to buy games. I’m not sure how much effort ill give the game to be honest, I mean im sure it will be fun but it will mess up my SF4 skillz big time.
Don’t worry, for mvc3 to screw up your sf skills it would first need to require skill. Mvc3 wins are a result of stupid gimmicks and spamming projectiles. Your Fei Long will be just as fine after.

Its a good game I’ve been playing it a lot. Its great fun and cant wait to get better at it. Also i’d like to know how you differentiate stupid gimmicks to skillful ones. Its not like slayer didn’t have his fair share of stupid gimmicks during his evolution of game play.
Slayer never stood at one side of the screen spamming projectiles and winning with chip.
Also I am all for easy fighting games, I love Akatsuki Blitzkampf which is probably an easier to learn game than MvC3. My problem is that this game is filled with stupid assist unblockables and the damage output is completely ridiculous.

Hey hey mabey your right Darc. I played the game true robo was my favorite but i never got really competive that was a while ago.
Am just trying to defend a so far extremmly fun and legitmate game. I spent like the last 4 hours in training mode it was just to much fun. I never heard you complain about the SSf4 unblockables nor did you really say sagat was that op in sf4 when his game mainly consisted of zoning, wait are you calling zoning spamming? You should know you cant just chuck shit and win if your refering to Aurthur. You should know theres some skill to it, i just hate that term when used with fighting games, spamming.

Only downside to mvc3 is ever since i’ve moved am on a wireless connection so i cant even play online. Cant even do a simple hyper combo with Domaru.
Yet again not trying to be hostile to anyone really just not a fan of blind hate this game is getting.

Im enjoying it, although I only had a few hours to mess with training mode and stuff… have yet to play a match in game as far as I recall… I’ll judge it truly in a month XD

Well after a 10 hour day I finally played MVC3 for about 30 mins and so far Im a bit mixed on it. Ill put more time into later this week when I have the time, but I can say for certain that I doubt it will be my main game…that slot is reserved for online 3s:) Anyhow I have to focus on SF4 right now and just continue leveling up for that, so hopefully my time in toronto and fights against wong can help me out.

So I’ve had more time with MVC3 again and the more I play it the less I’m liking it lol, Granted I do think its fun in its own unique way but I just cant see myself taking it as a legit tourny worthy game. Something about it seems too simple and easy, a little effortless in some regards so I think ill take a pass and just play it casually…besides im playing this game like I would play SF so im a guaranteed win lol.
I was kind of hoping MVC3 would take me off SF4 a bit but it seems like I’ll still be at SF4 for awhile…which is unfortunate cause im getting really tired of that game and want something new!
Well if you are really getting tired of it and want something new, you should probably give it more than an hour of game play. Play through the mission mode.
I am guessing that you played with Nelson for a short time, and he did some mashing and simple combos and won. I was watching Dustin do the missions last night and some of the combos are very intense. I don’t really know how you can come off calling it easy and simple, unless you are just completely avoiding doing any of the high damage combos. The combos seem more difficult than combos in SF4, they are a lot longer and a lot more to remember. There may not be one frame links, etc. But that doesn’t mean it is simple. Sure, I could pick up this game and do a 8 hit combo no problem. Making a real combo, though… probably not without work! Also I saw JWong playing and he was doing some crazy stuff, making up combos and stuff. I challenge you to play the game without a negative attitude. I’ll give you $5 if you complete the missions. Since it’s all so easy, should be no challenge at all.

I dont think im ever going to complete anyones missions completely… atleast for a long time. I LOVE doing a Deadpool shootmup super x factor taunt into shootmup again by the way. Or katanarama taunt into super… or teleport misfire into super… gah, so many options.
