Dalton: lol well hey you cut yourself short, in the context of Saskacthewan from what ive seen I would easily say your a cut above the rest. Now im not familiar with the entire compeition from Regina but from what I have heard it seems like most of the players there are actually pretty good or at least improving.

Saskatoon literally has no one outside me and maybe dustin, there could be some latent talent but thats just complete speculation at this point. With no venue or gathering site its very difficult to arrange anything between the few people who do play here.

I hope you can come out norman, we could use another solid player. From a conversation I had with lap a few days ago it appears as if several sask players have registered so it seems like we do have some unknown player base avaible. Its so hard to attact new players without any kind of venue or community avaible…I guess I could always just stand beside the 3s machine at the cove and scope out talent that way lol.

I promised all you Fei Long fans that I would attended the NY Comic Con and if I had the chance to meet Seth I would ask him what changes would be made to Fei. Well as promised I did just that and I did meet him and this is how it went down.

I couldn’t talk to Seth right away as he was on a live stream for MvC3 so I had to wait about 20 min to talk to him. After he was done with the Live stream and ready to leave, I first asked for his autograph on my TE Stick (YES!!!) then while he was signing it I asked "What changes where made to Fei? He shook his head as if he didn’t want to spill the beans. So I pressed a little harder I then said “Seth you have to give me something I promised all the Fei Long members on SRK that I would get some info from you”. So this must have softened him up.

Seth "well were testing a few things"
Jason "like what?"
Seth "we are working on his Tenshin"
Jason "Really like what, faster start up"
Seth "Yes, faster start up maybe"

Seth "well its not a problem with Fei’s hit boxes, its a problem with the other characters hit boxes. Thats something we really wont work on.
Jason “How about U2, its a great ultra but its a reaction ultra and better players are good at baiting it out. Is there a way wehre we could say cancel it like Abel’s”?
Seth “Well we are looking into reducing the recover so its not a free ultra”. He used Rose as an example, "she can us it as both offense and defense, we dont want Fei’s ultra to be used that way but were looking into reducing the recovery time. As for Abel just know his U2 will not be as powerful as it is now. (Big smile on my face when he said this)
Seth "One of the biggest problems we have with Fei is his CW, the animation and hit boxes are tricking and we had 2 inf. loops with it. We dont want that in the game so if anything the CW will be tweaked. His DP will most likely stay the same"

Seth "Fei is very good at this current moment and we are happy that players like Mago, Starnab and Inthul have brought more attention to him. We still feel that we can make Fei more effective and see him more often as he is one of my favorite characters.

I always loved maining low tiers/mid tiers as I appreciated the chanllenge of working with limited options and overcoming difficult odds but I love it even more when my character gradually acends the tier list lol.

They have it in storage, if there is enough interest they could do tournies for the arcade games they have. The university would be the perfect venue if only SSF4,BBCS and SSMB were PC games:wasted:

There’s no credibility to a fighting game tournament if it’s run on a PC. The Melty Blood community in the US already proved that.

It’s been ages man lol, I got a lot of ground to cover so enjoy the novel lol. I did manage to get a community up and running around the end of last year and it was good for awhile. We crashed the community at one of the player’s apartment and just sort of used it as the venue spot eventually. It was always intended to be transitional of course untill I was able to secure a bigger and better spot but it just never happened. The main reason is because Saskatoon is a small city so there is massive limitations on potential venues…there wasn’t a lot of options lol.

This was just half of the problem though, aside from lacking a viable venue the community itself was poorly organized and was not given any motive or direction. The gatherings essentially amounted to a collection of strangers hanging out who just"happen"to play fighting games…it was akward lol. Although I will say that even inspite of all these flaws it wasnt a terrible experience it just never really went anywhere. To bottomline it all, the venue prevented the player base from expanding and the stucture of the gatherings prevented the skills of the players from progressing.

I got bored with this situation and just decided to move on so I pretty much hanged up my boots as far"organizing"is concerned. I think they still use the old community forum and do gatherings every once in awhile but thats about as much as I know to be honest…and thats basically what has been up with the scene. Now as for why this thread got so big…lol well basically its like this. I tried to start something up again with a gaming store in town a month ago.They agreed to my terms but it was still very much into the"beta"stages of everything. I wasnt really indicated on any particular details outside just the price point and the website but I still wanted to let the community know what was up. I used this thread to update the progress on this new"scene"and when the community heard the suggested price point they became very hostile over the idea. A lot of arguments ensued untill the store found out about this heat and decided to pull out because they didnt want the bad PR.

Now prior to the store deciding to cancel the arangement, I had attempted to rationalize the price point and explain why this new venue will be better. To do this I detailed the faults of the old community and provided some examples of the benefits to this new community. Some members of the “scene” took exception to my comments and decided to voice there appreciation for me…in particular my ex lol. That whole ordeal pretty much consumed this thread and is the reason behind its sudden growth to say the least. Even though I was still attacked afterwards I pretty much just ignored all the hate, the way I see it is that anyone who has had a chance to sit down and talk to me knows im a good guy and I never really had a chance to connect with any of the critics beyond just a simple"hello"and “goodbye”. I dont hate anyone or hold any grudges that isnt my style and im generally just a very happy guy who is always smiling so I dont need this"weight"on me.

Its all water under the bridge now though so at least something positive came from this drama.Im working a good job now with very high pay so Im going to invest in becoming a tournament player from now on and just get my name out there you know, anyhow I hope to represent sask at the canada cup tourny and do very well!

Anyhow I was looking forward to the buffs fei was getting in the arcade version but now my dreams are shattered…I was so close to finally playing a top tier fei haha.
