I’m in Orlando right now, moving to Bradenton this week. Uhh… Does this area have a scene at all? Because from what I can see, there isn’t any thread dedicated to these cities.
Not that I went to any CEO events or anything while I was in Orlando. But im worried that the further south you go in Florida, the further away from the rest of the US you get. The laggier the online gets assuming the majority of americans online are from anywhere else.
For instance. I visited my brothers place in Palm Bay and tried to play some AE there. Dear fucking lord it felt like 5-8 frame delay. Totally unplayable. But he WAS using the xbox wireless adapter.
I’m in Venice (just a little south of Sarasota), and there are at least about 4-5 other people in the Venice to Bradenton area that I know of and talk to/play on a semi regular basis in various games. Between all of us we have a few good players in assorted games; one or two are great at marvel, one specializes only in sf4, one is an snk head who has been going nuts over kof13, one for blazblue, and I personally play pretty much every fighting game I can without prejudice though I’m not particularly amazing at any of them.
Anyway as was mentioned hit up the Tampa thread. Not all of the guys I just listed off post on srk, but those of us who do have pretty much just made the Tampa thread our home. If we have a few new guys like you folks looking for people then maybe it’s about time to make a dedicated Sarasota area thread, who knows
Snk head checking in haha, yes I have been playing tons of kof 13 but I just bought ultimate today, there is a guy in Bradenton dododonpachi who hosts stuff at his house, mostly marvel and he owns a pump it up arcade machine as well.
Welcome to Bradenton/Sarasota
I tried to build a scene here but real life problems and poor attendance killed it. But yeah about 7-8 people hang out and play pretty regularly. Sometimes at my place in Saturdays I will host stuff but I have everyone’s phone numbers. If this thread stays around I will post in it.
Games I play… Kofxiii ssf4ae apology edition 3s and I am restarting marvel my gamertag is Sike Mopko
Ok excellent. I’ve been in Bradenton for about 3 weeks now, so I’m definitely going to add you all on xbl/facebook. Not sure if I’m able to travel to venice just to play casuals for a few hours though.
My Gamertag = Mike Vs Capcom and TaskTool . I mained MvC1 for like 4 1/2 years, but I tried to get into sf4 around 2009, I play ae now but it’s difficult with this HDTV delaying my inputs. Getting ultimate soon and maybe kof xiii.
The Tampa thread seems a bit too vast for me. It’s unlikely I will be able to attend any get togethers outside of the bradenton/sarasota area. And if I did it would have to be CEO next year.
Well we carpool to Tampa events occasionally as well as Orlando, if you be down to throw some money in for gas we can work something out. I am looking forward to any matches we can get in, also me an dododonpachi have evo monitors so we keep things pretty lagless around here
sadly i only play on psn and have not dual modded my stick.i play strictly marvel right now but always open to other games. also venice is not far from sota only like 20mins. i am def down to meet up and play some REAL people. avoulgarellis@gmail. hit me up
I just moved to Sarasota a few months ago and would kill for some local/XBL competition as I know seriously no one who plays fighting games. I have SSF4 Apology Edition, for anyone who cares I play: seth, cody, makoto & UMvC3. (just got it) soooo…mag/doom/wesker? lol.
I just moved to St. Pete, like a 20-30 min trip from sarasota and Im definitely looking for some good competition. I play Ae2012 and Umvc3, but im trying to get into more games. Hmu on XBL, my tag is MoH3GaNmAsSaKr3.
Just an update, i am good to go on XBOX or PS3 now i have a dual modded stick. my own crib and a car to travel to and fro. hit me up peeps and ill host some sessions
sent you a PM dawg. there’s a few people around the area to play and about half of them like to play marvel. none of them like to play sfxt, which is a good thing
