i got mine yesterday and i’m still figuring out how to put art in it.
The push button part has a white plastic circular plate (That is where you sandwich the art in between push button with the white plastic circular plate) You basically pry off that plastic plate off with your fingers and it’ll pop off easily. No biggie.
I use a little flat head and where that little nub is pop it from there its where they lock-on to the white connector

here’s what i’m currently having problems with. compared to seimetsu you can just pop the plunger out and pull the white plastic out.
just pry up the little nub on the top clear section just a little and it will come apart.
sorry for my stupidity, but what little nub?
its a little tiny over hang you should see it
got it, finished 3 already, but my thumb nail’s already bleeding inside
So I just got a set of 8 whites Sanwa Clear to match my Hori FE White. The White Sanwa buttons are off white, so they didn’t match my stick. I was forced by design to substitute them for the clears, (I wasn’t too crazy about the Kuro buttons.)
There is a noticeable difference between the Clear and the Normal Sanwa button. I’ve pinpointed if to the fact that the pluggers have more “wiggle” room. Which makes them rattle slightly and they do tend to squeak.
Has any else tried to mod them to make them more stable? Do they wear and after time and get less squeaky or smoother?
Clear plastics is much harder than opaque. Opaque ABS plastic is slightly rubbery compared to their clear counterparts, as a result there plastic provides less friction and makes that wiggle roomy you feel.
I not sure if the clear Sanwas are acrylic or ABS plastic, most likely acrylic as it less prove to sun light damage than ABS.
The trade off is harder plastic is also more brittle. Hence why clear ball tops are very prone to cracking.
Are there any issues with the tabs breaking off the clear sanwas when you take them out of a stick? I’ve seen a few people mention that they were brittle. I was planning on swapping out the buttons on my TE2 soon but I may keep them in for a while if a few of them are likely to break on the way out.
Yes. This is a real issue. The tabs are very easy to break off. I eventually got pretty good at getting them out without breaking them but that was after breaking 5-6 tabs on a set of 8 buttons. You need to press the button out and just barely press the tab enough to clear it from the panel. Pain in the ass IMO.
Thanks, I’ll just keep them in for now and maybe try a heat gun or something on them for a little bit whenever I try to take them out.
I break off tabs on Opaque buttons with my Happ hands.
I don’t recommend trying to heat acrylic
Ah, didn’t know they’re acrylic. Yeah everything around the buttons would probably warp before the tabs softened up.
its either ABS plastic or acrylic, and with the glass like nature of the clear Sanwa parts I betting its acrylic.
C’mon Sanwa, where are the clear purple and clear orange colors? Anybody have an idea why they havent expanded their clear color range? @Darksakul maybe you know a reason?
