Santa Barbara Game Fest Information

Like I said, SB Game Fest is the first of it’s kind in Santa Barbara. The LAN party alone supports up to 80 computers and we encourage you to bring your own. We are also providing 40 computers for attendees to use on a first come, first serve basis. PC games include CS, CS: Source, Team Fortress 2, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, and more. In addition to PC gaming, we are having a multitude of tournaments and a casual gaming corner for all your DS, Wii, and Rock Band needs. The first of two of these tournaments, you’ve just read about. But they also include Halo 3, Guitar Hero 3, and others. We have a lot of room, support from the school, food and drinks, a lounge area, and a view of the ocean from the center. Come hang out on the central coast for one full day of gaming from 12:00PM - 9:00PM, April 26, 2008.

You can find further information at www.sbgamefest.com or on the forums at www.sbvgc.org (Santa Barbara Video Game Club).

Additionally, their is a Guilty Gear tournament pending. I am a Guilty Gear player but the other people organizing the event didn’t feel we could get enough people to play to make it worth the effort so if you are interested in that, please let me know. This event is going to be really big. We are expecting 100+ attendees and I’ve had to work with pretty much every department at the school to put it on so I hope to see as many of you as possible.

Sounds cool. Is there any way to see how many 3s players are registered? I’d like to come, but I don’t want to drive up from LA and there only be like 4 dudes there for 3s lol

Understandable. There is a lot of other stuff to do as well but yeah we currently have 10 people who have preregistered and we expect sign ups the day of as well. Preregistering takes a certain level of going out of your way I guess but yeah, definitely hope to see you there.

Current Tournament Pre-Registrations (as of 04/24/08 @ 5:20PM)

Third Strike: 10
Smash: 34
Halo 3: 15

Additonally, almost all of the BYOC spots are filled and we are looking at 100+ total attendees. Should be awesome.

No way to to tell how many will register the day of but I have heard confirmation from numerous people for all tournaments that I don’t see on the prereg lists so we’ll see.

EDIT: Also, I negotiated with the arcade machine distributor with the school to get those machines on freeplay so we’ll have a small selection of arcade machines going as well. Guilty Gear, SVC Chaos, DDR, Tekken, etc.

Joysticks? Or just regular controllers?
