San Francisco Bay Area Fighting Cafe Idea

Hey Everyone!

Since I have a lot of fighting games, I originally wanted to section off my garage to allow people to come in at ANY time to hold tourneys for ANY game of their choosing for FREE! Wouldn’t that be amazing? Unfortunately, I don’t have the money to buy a big enough house in a reasonable area (I want to keep it near downtown SF).

So I came up with another idea that I wanted to run by the forums to gauge the interest level so I don’t do anything dumb. If I rented out a space near downtown SF would you pay $1-3 to come? It’d be like an internet cafe, but with fighting games. Maybe if it goes well, I can include couch co-op games (Mario Kart, Party, etc.)

My dream is to have a place for anyone to come by during the evening to play any fighting game from the past 25 years. Arcades usually have a select few and not everyone is able to host fighting tourneys at their house. If I had more money, I’d simply get a bigger house with a room dedicated to this so it can be free, but I mentioned that I just don’t have the money for that. I still want to offer something though and this is the best idea I can come up with.

Here’s the list of current fighting games I own. I would purchase more games if the idea goes well:

I can imagine that this could be unnecessary. If so, just let me know.

of course, that sounds like a cool idea. i’d try to come especially if the place is anywhere near a bart station.

That’d be cool where would the space be?

I would like a maid cafe ^__^.

LOL @ southtown voting no. GOOD shit

I also immediately thought of a maid cafe

Anyway, if I lived in the SF area, sure. But I don’t, and parking in/transportation to SF is balls on the wallet. :frowning:

southtownarcade: I will vote no if you remove the SFxT machines and make everyone play SSFIV again. Let me know.

I can’t tell if you’re voting “no” against the idea or not…

Sounds sweet. Also, can I live there? Because I’m moving to San Francisco at the end of the month from New York and don’t have housing.

Tournys beginning at 4am!! where them tourny owls at?

i would like an s&m club
