MC has the potential. The owner may seem rich, but there is a limit, or else he would have gotten all the perfect cabs, sticks, stools, and prices right. But im assuming he hasnt done this yet because he wants to see if its worth it or not. How can he buy more stuff if we dont even play on the stuff he has already? How can he buy new cabinets, when no one gives money to buy them? I dont like nickel much anymore. It used to be sick back in the day because they had 3 cabinets and the sticks were just about perfect, not the tall stupid ass ones they have in there now and the machines are so close together its hard to play bumping elbows.
So all in all, you guys knew the prices would be 50 cents, so if you didnt want to pay the 50 cents, why did you guys bother to support it from the start or even ask to get the stuff…
actually, hes the one who asked. he asked me and andy and many others for our opinions and we gave it to him. then he went off and bought everything (which was very nice and sweet and kind of loving of him:lovin:
and it actually used to be $1.25 to play marvel. then he changed it to .75 cents…
and then to .50 cents
i mean, i assumed it would just go down to .25 cents
i see 2 sides
omg he freakin bought all this shit, so what if its a quarter more!! cheap ass sd!! you dont understand business!!
omg .50 cents is stupid, if he lowers it, more people will go!! nickel is cheaper!! YOU dont understand business!!
what he wants, is to make his money back. hes obviously NOT going to buy us any more cabs, because we arent showing him that much support. i mean, yes, we go on fridays, but is that enough? i dont think so.
maybe we can…
tell him to change it to .25 cents for 2 weeks, and show him how he will get more business. on top of that, people will go on weekdays too. AND, if other people go on weekdays, he will get more money with entrance fees.
honestly, i think he will get his money faster doing it this way, rather than charging .50 cents a pop.
i think it would work. i would call some people up randomly on a wednesday, and say lets go to mudd, and play for fun… rather than ONLY having it on fridays.
im gonna suggest this to him on friday, maybe around 5pm. whoever wants to come to support me (for any reason to help)…
Lol it seems like people always change there story… Just about a month ago, everyone was crying… omg mudd clubs can be so good… all they need is this this this and that… the same people that asked for the new stuff are the same people complaining. It all boils down to a fuckin quarter… the owner didnt buy things simply because zomgah… if we buy it they will come… they bought all the things we asked for because we informed them that if this this this and that was done… we’d take our business there… I’ve been going to nickel since 2k back when the owner and workers gave a damn about the games… its totally different now. I guess nickel has new working sticks ; w00t w00t… 2weeks later the sticks are broke, YAY 3 months later they’re fixed. Its like workers going on strike, you dont demand something, get it… and still dont work.
Now if the Owner of Mudd Club would’ve read my post before hand, he wouldve realized, People in san diego have the dumbest logic ever.
I like going where the competition is, for the past year or so i never even had to leave my house, because competition would come to us.
Nickel has shitty cabs, they’re to close… the sticks rarely work… its surrounded by little kids, its crowded as hell.
Mudd club, good sticks good service, a tad more expensive, but a owner willing to cater to us if we show the guy some love, which he’s already proven that he’ll show us some love. The sticks at nickel are still dismal… and the only reason i slightly enjoyed playing was because i didnt have another player damn near hugging me while we played “i was playing against the computer” thats why.
I love being at work, I can type Essays!!! whatever you do continue to support this place… i mean so far hasnt it just kept getting better?
and more people coming on weekdays and making money off of the entrace fee just might be the ticket. i’d sure as hell go to mudd on random days just to practice and hog the machine lol. i don’t have 3s at home nor sticks so for me, good practice
then again i still suck…either that or i should stop playing Q.
Yea i say we just drop suggestions in the box and possibly have our group talk to him when he is there. I bet once he sees the SD scene he will lower the price and buy more cabs, bet it!
Having a tournament with a big turnout might be what persuades him to make a change to the way things are right now. I’ve seen the owner take notice/watch matches while hes there (thanks for the gatorade btw), so hopefully throwin a tourney + interest on our parts might persuade him.
i feel he’d probably be more inclined to lower prices then buy more cabs. i mean, he’s shelled out alot of money thus far so he’s going to try and make it back till he starts investing more in other games
…though i think he should get rid of the horse racing games. i mean honestly, who has actually played that?
Not sure how well that would work out taking some of the pot. Usually the enter fee is 5$ and we dont have that many people at one time. Plus tournament would take forever on 1 cab. Instead of taking money out, should just keep it pay to play instead of event mode.
Also, getting another cab prolly wont happen for a bit until he sees more interest. Sucks though cuz it takes forever with 12 people wanting to play lol…
it sure does take a while =/. by the time i’m up, i’m already involved in an interesting conversation, joking about some shit or wondering about what i’m gonna eat after to the point where i loss count at the 9th person to play before my turn. that is until i see edgar winning and i gotta step in…cause i can’t let that shit fly :arazz:
Just so you all know, the horse game gets more play than the fighting games. That will probably pay itself off before mvc2 or 3s pay off their new cabs. If people go to Mudd enough (and consistantly) and when the machines start making money, they might be inclined to lower the price after a while. Who knows. Maybe try the 2 week thing. Bottom line is we need to support the place and watch it flourish!
im sure anygame that requires $2 to play will pay itself off fast … im not down for him wanting to take some of the cash if we have a tourny … thats just not cool … i mean we are the ones who call and post up and tell ppl about them … we ARE giving him recognition…
that horse game costs like 50 g’s. i doubt that many people play it to get it payed off. ive never even seen one person play it EVER.
also i dont know about other games, but having half tourneys on arcade, half the the tourney on console would not work for 3s because console and arcade are totally different. arcade ftw…but if its a pre evo tourney console would be best. those hdtv plasmas will probably lag though. just something to consider.
I play the horse game, I have 1 retired sire, 1 special male, and 3 other garbage horses which are also grade 1 eligible.
they have the horse game at mission valley tilt, dave and busters mission valley and dave and busters @ the irvine spectrum. competition for this game is nearly as intense as mvc2. hard to believe but if you go to dave and busters on friday or thursday is almost impossible to even get to play! considering that they also have 8 race stations too. players come out there with their whip charts for each race, and stables of ridiculous special horses like zebras and pandas.
on a side note, you think its $2 to play, but its $2 a credit, and requires 2 credits to play which is actually $4 to play.
$4 a race per person, at dave and busters with 8 stations thats $32 dollars a race win or lose, and 6 races to the championship. that’s serious cash being made. but the incentive why to play at d&b is the alcohol really.
I think the horse racing game at mission valley is only a dollar too. But I too have played the horse racing game at Mudd Club because i didn’t see anyone there playing, and it was a good way for me to breed a special top tier horse without really losing to competitive players.
