Samurai Spirits aka Samurai Shodown - 2019

You guys are gonna be on that new shit soon though.

No point.

I just want to see how the netcode performs. That’s all I need to see at this point.

If 5sp on ps4 is good after the patch I don’t see why the upcoming samsho won’t be just as good. It’s virtually the same data packs on both games that will be sent/received.
Edit: I’ve heard that Code Mystics developed that patch. Anyone know If they’re involved with the new samsho? or if that’s true at all?

I’d expect the standard hit or miss affair as usual online. It’s promising that SNK is at least being transparent with the community and taking a lot of feedback unlike our boys at Capcom when SF5 dropped.

FYI 5 Special will be in the SS NeoGeo Collection released this fall too.

Code Mystics isn’t involved with SamSho 7 so unless SNK licenses that netcode or already has it as part of the deal, I would imagine it’ll be similar to KoF14. I hope that’s not the case though.

I have a feeling the new game will be like SF4 in terms of it getting some folks to check out the older games in the series. There will still be people playing 5Sp even after 7 drops.

More Hanzo gameplay at 20:49

since people already have a copy. is there any form of filter for ranked/casual matches?

At that point I can just fightcade it.

Have FC all set up, just dont use it.

A second demo is coming on the 21st with Ukyo, Genjuro, and Charlotte. This one though, is not time limited, and already has the input lag fix.

so ready to wake up on Friday morning and start bodying fools with either Charlotte or Rimururu.

Haven’t touched the game yet, but anybody else worried that Yashamaru might be too limited? Most of his stuff looks so slow that it will only be practical in punishes, and his buttons aren’t anything special to make up for it.

The second demo available outside Asia?

Yashamaru ain’t limited with pow, without pow he kinda is, his standing middle is a very beefy button but having said that having solid pokes also means you’re gonna get deflected a lot, if careless I just think you have to play him very cautiously when you are not in pow then when powed you can party harder with you left right mix up game.

But he has a double jump that’s a huge plus for him

I’m going to that red bull event in London tomorrow with my aim to win the thing and a copy of the game I have no idea what build we will be using or who will be available

I’ll let you know how it went, win or lose

Apparently the second demo won’t require PS+.

Awesome! This will no doubt give a decent preview of the main game and determine whether I will wait for the PC release.

Yashamaru seems built around the gauge since everything, even his st.C gets buffed when it’s full.

That said, he’s likely going to end up around mid or high-mid. His DP left-right is really wonky and can end up being punishable on hit. His air stuff, especially the projectile has a ton of recovery. Also, his WFT shenanigans, which we thought were strong, actually have a lot of counter-play.

Been streaming 5SP online matches.

I’m gonna miss this in 7.

Not at all. His specials look pretty meh to me. I think he does have a few decent normals, but I’m sure everyone has some kind of good normal to fall back on.
