I think Mina does fit, although a bit forced; Suzu a little too ridiculous because of the giant weapon, that’s more like for anime games, but she reminds me of Shizumaru a bit in concept, so I could give her a pass.
I would like to remind you in the second game had Wan-Fu use a stone pillar as a weapon and a German who used a gauntlet larger than he was as a weapon. I’m not seeing the reach with Suzu.
Wan-Fu and Sieger are freaking beyond-Shcwarzenegger-level muscular/buff dudes.
Suzu’s arms are like freaking straws or spaggethis.
Being bodybuilders doesn’t make using weapons larger than themselves less anime than a 14 year old girl being able to.
You don’t seem to understand how design works. Strength and vigor is the main attribute emphasized by Wan-Fu and Sieger’s designs, so having them use a giant weapon becomes plausible.
Having a feeble loli baby girl using a gigantic weapon completely breaks the “sort of plausible” philosophy of Samurai Shodown and makes it become a pedestrian Saturday morning anime.
Even Karin and Sakura have six packs in Street Fighter at least, and SS is supposed to be even grittier than that… Suzuhime totally misses the point. This isn’t supposed to be BlazBlue or that kind of nonsense.
I still give her a pass sort of, but only because she’s a bit similar to Shizumaru, so there was a precedent.
I like how they’re hiding whether or not Tsubame Gaeshi has a projectile.
Next time a petite woman/girl pulls a train let me know.
P.S. Ukyo looks like he is going to be a boss.
wut?
Zankuro is 18th? no!!
at least Sieger is 8th… there is hope
I just don’t care for perceived realism in my fiction. I don’t find Sieger design anymore plausible than someone like Earthquake who is a giant fatass that’s suppose to be a Shinobi or a Kabuki actor who thinks his profession is a matter of life and death.
There’s no way it will be
If it’s is it will be like yumijeis which was pretty crappy
Hell from the trailer I don’t even know if your even gonna be able to instant overhead it anymore, it looked kinda slow.
Maybe he was using the medium and heavy one?
Be kinda sad if ukyo loses his stand out offensive move
Is it just me, or are these trailers giving us such crazy brief snippets of any given move that it’s almost impossible to draw meaningful conclusions?
Like, if I didn’t know Ukyo’s preexisting moveset, I don’t know that anything I was seeing would have made much sense. I basically have zero idea of what Darli actually does.
Still looks pretty fast to me. Maybe not as fast as previous games, but not slow either.
The bigger question outside of the firebird, is if he can tiger knee it.
yeah i see that too but these trailers are for hype for a general audience. hopefully they’ll release some more in-depth character videos showcasing each character so we get a better idea of how they work.
Dunno, for me, it looks pretty obvious that he doesn’t have a projectile from Tsubame Gaeshi based on the trailer, unless there is strength variation not shown in the trailer.
To me, it seems like they’re rolling with 5 Special move sets as a basis and adjusting off of that. I’m okay with Tsubame Gaeshi still being a strong overhead as long as it’s universally punishable on block with heavy slash, and if his low option for his mix up doesn’t knockdown.
TK firebird is one of his major offensive threats, if they were to take that away it would change him drastically. Taking roll/command grab off the table is definitely going to affect how characters like Hanzo, Genjuro, and Galford pressure people in this game.
Losing TK Tsubame Gaeshi would be a bigger deal for Ukyo though since it’s a tool he’s had since forever.
Galford and Hanzo just gotta go back to playing like they did in SS2.
Any word on the control scheme? Is it like the last SamSho?
Thanks dooooood! I like this config better than Samsho V actually…
