Yeah, I mentioned there were reasons it wouldn’t happen. But you could drop some other named Hibiki clone in there with time period appropriate clothing and she wouldn’t feel out of place.
Series already has Yumeji for a female iajutsu user though.

Good point! There are places existing SamSho characters that should probably go in before dipping into similar guest characters,

I actually think some of these guys like Shigen, Yuki, Zantetsu, Musashi, would actually fit.
Anyway, the SS characters is what this is all about. I think from the initial roster I only would have added Basara, that’s one of the best post-SS Ⅱ guys.

So the thing going on around FGC twitter now is that apparently everyone played SamSho (or Metal Slug) in the laundromat growing up. Anyone else have a similar experience.
For me, it was never a thing since we didn’t usually have arcade cabs in places outside of arcades here.

That’s how I was expose to those games. Only the laundromats and video rental stores had Neo Geo cabs around here. I often played Sam Sho IV, and Metal Slug 3 from the local landromats. One across the street of my old junior high had SvC: Chaos.
MIndboggle Arcade. My local arcade got pretty much everything. They didn’t stick around long but we even had the various Virtua Fighter games.

As for arcade we usually had them in christmas carnivals, local mini grocer and department store in the 90s.
I was lucky to lived sometime nearby those areas
Yeah Yumeji is kinda weird backstory with the morphing issue and is kinda Ukyo.
Yumeji is a inferior clone of Ukyo and isn’t a female.
P.S. I have played Samsho games in a doctor’s office, a restaurant, and an ice skating ring. Strangely most arcades I have been to did not have them. Fortunately, SNK released many ports and collections.

Yumeji is female the same way Leo in Tekken is. SNK’s basically keeping things ambiguous on purpose.
Didn’t Namco go on to confirm Leo as female down the line? Yumeji’s gender remains ambiguous IIRC.

One of my arcades had one of those Neo Geo arcade machines that you could choose the game.
It had Metal Slug, Super Side Kicks, Bust a Move and Sam Sho.
