Anyone got SS2 for xbl? I’l cut you up with my boy genjuro at least he doesn’t suck like he does in the later games.
Genjuro only sucks in Tenka. He is top tier in 5sp.
I do, but I don’t and won’t play it. The lag is unbearable to the mainland from Hawaii. What’s the point when it’s on GGPO anyways.
thanks for telling me every one i did not know.
Like it says.
I play SS2 on Live if people are down for matches.
I just got Samurai Spirits Rokuban Shoubu recently and the games play very well. With the exception of being able to change the voices in SS6, I can’t find differences with the single released SS6.
These are the characters I’m using in the following games in 2P matches:
SS1-Haohmaru
SS2-Haohmaru, Charlette
SS3-Haohmaru (BUST)
SS4-Haohmaru (SLASH and BUST), Charlette (SLASH)
SS5sp-Haohmaru, Charlette, Yoshitora
Er, I thought SS0S wasn’t in Rokuban Shoubu? Are you mixing it up with SSTenka?
I got SS2 on 360. Not that good but I will be glad to throw down with anyone. Hell you’ll be giving me pointers.
That’s what I thought. I could have sworn SS0sp was not in the collection.
It isn’t, I was just listing the mains I am focusing on for the games those far. Sorry about that.
I was practice in some SS3 a while ago, and I can understand why not many like it. I was practicing with Ukyo BUST and Genjuro BUST and did the following combos:
Ukyo Bust:
:snka:+:snkb: near opponent, :snkb:, :dp:+:snka:, :snkc:, opponent dizzy, super
Genjuro Bust:
:snka:+:snkb: near opponent, :snkb:, :qcb:+:snka:, :snkb:, :qcb:+:snka:, :snkb:, :dp:+:snkc:, opponent dizzy, super
Wow, that is huge damage!
i do, we’ll have to challenge sometime.

SS3 is a joke. Select Genjuro (any version), push opponent behind or walk around him and do close B in the back, A card, walk - close B in the back, A card, walk - close B in the back, C card. He falls dizzy, you do C card then qcf+Slash x3.
Instead of A cards you can try B cards too.
Works online too, takes off almost all healthbar
Ukyo Bust (or more correctly, Rasetsu since Bust is mistranslation SNK loves to do), select Upper Grade, then mash f,b,f+CD whole match (spam your super), punish everything with it, or use walk around dodge constantly and hit opponent in the back with super. Once their weapon is flipped out, repeat super in moment they get it back
Did SS3 really kill the series in the US? Weren’t arcades dying at that time?
I know SNK didnt imported much SS in USA at those times. It started around times when they released SS RPG japanese-only (after SS4), then low-distributed 3D SS games with no ports, finally SNK collapse in 1999
SS3 had all sorts of garbage. Crouching C -> C Lela Mutsube with Nako = 50% damage and dizzy, repeat for death. She also had ridiculous air game with option select air throw thanks to the worst air-blocking system ever created; Haohmaru could kill you in two hits regularly, Gaira’s “strategy” was block everything, C, Amakusa could dizzy you easily with crouching DxN, etc.
Shizumaru was awesome in that game though. I still haven’t forgiven SNK for getting rid of his umbrella attacks.
It certainly killed things around here. But it didn’t do so instantly like how SSF2 killed SF (at least in the US; around here people went right back to HF). I actually played SS3 here for a year. Then there was a gap because I came to the Us to go to school, and SS (any version) was nowhere to befound save SSIV in one arcade that was rather far away for me. Every time I came back home to visit, SS4 was played, but nowhere near the level of SS1/2.
I think arcades may have started their decline and roll back around the time SS4 was released. That was when mall arcades started getting phased out. They were still healthy when SS3 was released though.
They brought back some those umbrella attacks in SS6 for his new moves
We had a real strong Samsho scene here, but 3 really hurt it. People came back for 4, but without much enthusiasm.
