This game looks garbage, but it at least has blood.

Holy shit. That wasn’t in any of the AOU footage i saw. He chopped off his fucking hand.

aint seen this posted yet on srk so i thought i’d do it, this video actually makes me like the game even more, to me it’s looking less and less like SC the more videos i watch, actually i feel quite hyped.

Oh yeah posted on the kof x11 thread was a video with the marketing fella from snkP USa i belive and he says ss5 sp will be in SS collection GET HYPE!!

2008 is definently looking good for fighting game fans

Sp will be in collection? Dang, that’s gonna open up a can of worms. It’s a good news to me definitely, but Playmore put out that SP will be NeoGeo only title. It’ll be interesting how other NeoGeo fans will take it.

SS Collection and Real Bout Collection, plus 12. Damn.

I know it sounds obvious, but things change, it’s not like it was carved in stone.
I’m glad and i think 99% of ss 5 sp would not really care about, you’re always gonna get the disgruntled few clinging to there ideals that they have final mvs aes game ever and that they are the elite of the elite!!

at the end of the day i dont see how it will decrease the value of there cart, they still own the final mvs/aes game

I never thought i would say this but it appears snkp are actually on the ball in 2008, lets hope it continues

I actually think Samuspi sen looks pretty good. :wonder:

Juggling repeatedly with the same move is not SS to me even a little bit. I might only like SS2 and SS5/sp, but this one hurts me on the inside a little bit. It might be a good game, I hope so, but it looks like fail on the gameplay to me.

I’ll wait to see more gameplay or try it myself before I judge, but just saying.

In the end, to me, it does more to do two main things:

  1. K2/Team Galapagos (the guys who actually crafted the series in the first place) are seemingly doing more to make this game how they wanted SS to be in the first place…more of a stylized kendo simulator, and doing even more to be less of a rudimentary fighting game with swords attached. If that means saying good bye to projectiles, so be it, in my opinion. People probably would have been just as irate if this game turned out to be anything between “SS Maximum Impact” or anything akin to the last 3 attempts at SS in 3D (Asura Zanmaden/SS64-2 being the best of the lot).

  2. Also, it’s very much different, but any one who’s played SS consistently could tell you that the SS pretty much was a different game from sequel to sequel, the only games that really played some what alike were SS1 and 2, 2 just doing more to be expansion of the first. Every other game in the series had a feel all of its own. Including Tenka, despite its trying to incorporate a “Groove System” reminiscent of past games. So, in that light, I’m willing to give SEN more of a chance, because it adheres to the overall series montage of how each game is different from the last. I can at least respect K2’s design choice in that light.

So, again, I’m willing to give this game a decent chance to grow on me, especially once we hopefully get a complete movelist, and people actually are given more of a chance to play this game the way it was meant to be played. If, after all that, the Japanese players truly do deem this as a “kuso-ge” (shit game), then so be it. But I still think it’s far too early to conclude without a shadow of a doubt that the game is trash otherwise.

I agree that SS changes quite a bit from episode to episode but here we’re talking of a SC clone, which is light years from the original concept, and arguably a good idea. Seriously I’d have preferred by far a 2.5D design like a SS64:2 but with nowadays possibilities and rendering.

NO. The game looks terrible.

It looks good to me! I can’t wait to hook it up to my bigscreen and play w/ friends!

Excellent, all they need to do is make the version of Tenka included in SS Collection the original PS2 port and not some new lazy barebones version (a la Metal Slug Anthology), and we’re set for one of the best fighting collections ever.

i think it would make more sense to just port the ps2 version of tenka, but then again i’m far from an expert in this field, all i hope for is practice modes and stage selects for all games.

i noticed that most of those collection do have a practice mode well i know the world heros one did and the RB collection did, the RB one also had the choice of arcade and arrange sound tracks, which for SS would be a nice touch

As for sen the more i see of it the less it looks like a SC clone, it sort of reminds me of the old ss warriors rage, i guess we’ll find out soon enough

Tenka is already confirmed in SS Anthology. So 7 games are included (1-5, 5 Special, and 6/Tenka).

I know that, I meant that the port of Tenka they include with SS Anthology should be the original PS2 port that was released in Japan, which contained a lot of bonus characters and content. My fear is that they will include a barebones port with nothing added, like they did with Metal Slug 6 in Metal Slug Anthology, which had a JPN PS2 port originally (with extras and such).

Further evidence to my fears is the fact that the US version of KOF Orochi Saga gets KOF 94, but not the Rebout version that was already released in Japan over a year ago. I mean, if you’re going to include a new game for the US release, why not go all-out and use the superior release? Argh. And I sort-of understand why they’re putting '98 in the US Orochi Saga (more casual fans who don’t care about UM), but even then you’re still cannibalizing some of your sales.

Stuff like this causes me to really question SNKP’s judgement sometimes.

Ah. I see what you’re saying now. I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on SS Anthology though because according to the video shown here, the SNK marketing guy specifically mentions that there was going to be “tons of bonus content and material”. So here’s hoping!

My opinions of SS Sen have slightly improved upon seeing blood.
