Samurai Shodown V Question

You get 1 win/loss point based on who won the set, and not who won the match.

But your rank points change after every match…not set.

I guess I forgot to mention that the game has to not suck for what I said to be true.

I’m not a big MvC2 fan by any means, but the game doesn’t flat out suck. It’s quality (like Tekken) but still sucks and bores me.

SVC, though, is just a flat out bad game.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Samurai Showdown V sucks right?

It gives me something to play for now…and it’s ok, I guess. It depends on your taste really.

It’s a broke game…if that’s what you want to know. If you like the other SS…then it’s about the same thing and you’ll like this one (broke characters aside). Only thing is that this game doesn’t have alot of people online.

Also, you can’t turn off the bosses…and that sucks balls (but just pick Yoshitora and you can still win fairly easily).

I like the seven swords guy. His music kicks ass… ummmmm… goes back to playing Samurai Shodown 4

fixed

anyway got a damn near new copy of SS5 for sale!

Just getting off of online play I’ll say this. If IF you can get players that don’t automatically go for supers and play keep away from your sword by standing above it and jamming on jab, or fight playters that are only interested in wins by selecting the cheapest characters and showing you why they are so cheap. Then this game can be fun. Problem is w/ so many ways to be a little bitch on the game sometimes it seems hopeless to get good games out of it. I was lucky enough to find players that just wanted to f-around and we let the other player take their sword back after a super. Then it became fun to sit there and have close matches. Then again I can find fun in most fighting games if the other player is not sitting there being a bastard.

If you lose your sword and they are mashing jab…then disarm them. When you have no weapon the counter/parry/disarm-thing is fast as shit and has like no recovery. And it’s fun to make them lose their weapon when they think they have a huge advantage.

qcb~f + D

Double Fatarity!

that’s stupid

I actually prefer it this way. In other online games, when I first start playing, I’d play against a fucking good player and play a good 30-50 matches…which I would lose. The reason I’d keep playing though…was to learn (and it helped alot). But even once I got really good at the game…it still looked like I was a scrub by my win/loss score.

Now, I only get 1 loss from my learning sets…and I can counter-act that later with my newly forged skill.

cool im starting to notice some 3rd strike similarities. or using the hop or b button. for example

YOU can roll backwards and do a special at any time.
standing b avoids throws.
there is a third strike short jump in the game.
you can whore hop throw as an anti air
hop throw works great against turtullers
and the best one crouching b will duck under anything say a GUN maybe.

and damn kof gets pushed back again fawk

I played this game online last night.

And…wow, the regulars are awful. This one guy with a 90%+ win record (Z xp7 or something) couldn’t even block projectiles. If I won the first round, he’d put his controller down, wait for me to kill him and then drop. Other guys did pretty much the same thing.

One dude…neobuyer666, I think he used Jubei a lot, didn’t drop but really doesn’t know what he’s doing either. I played 15 matches and nobody so much as used a hop or dodge, weapon flip, anything…more like…“hey i’ll fight till I build up rage and whiff the super then put my controller down and drop”…

Yeah a lot of the matches are basic. If you want someone who has a decent grip on the game try a guy named “oOLAWoO” or something around that type of name. He uses the instant kills and seems a little more knowlegdeable. I haven’t seen anyone else do anything except basic stuff or cheap stuff.

Haha…I gave him his first loss…it was good times. It makes me happy when I mess-up someone’s %. I’m not saying I’m awesome btw…but I seem to at least get lucky alot.

But yeah, oOLAWOo is good. You might also want to try “American Psycho” (not exactly his name…it has #s in it); he’s pretty tight.

Oh, and me…so I’ll have someone else to play.

We need good and bad games threads.

  • Also, I’m oficially online w/ this game. tag = noraj

If only SS2 were to be released, ah the good old days of The best of the series. SS4 was good as well since you were able to diiferentiate between which version of the character you’d like to choos (aka fighting style or so to speak much like alpha 3)

Yeah, but for now, GGs to CoolMoe4prez and Strangepork!

how’s da lag?

in my case, gamebreaking. I played Mr. Bakaboy before leaving, maybe he can shed some light on this too…

A lot of times when I’m playing, I’ll win the match on my screen, but the other guy is apparently still fighting me. That’s how bad the lag is. It happens a lot the other way around too–they’ll be through, but I’m still fighting them and they’re not moving.

Bakaboy, in our last fight, didn’t I beat you with Yoshi or did you win? I’m not sure about our match, 'cause you were apparently still in it (or…still moving anyway)

So yeah, at least for me, lag is THAT bad
