Its not. I-V are the Neo Geo versions. VI is the Jp PS2 version, it has its own icon in the honeycomb menu whereas the other games are under “Arcade”.

Actually, from what I hear, the reason for none of the versions of SSA anywhere having SSV SP is because SNKP Japan didn’t want to port the game to any other system (didn’t want anybody else to either), because they wanted to leave it as the swan song of the Neo-Geo. They thought porting the game would cheapen that. It’s been that way with that game ever since it came out. They seem to have the last word on what goes into these overseas ports from what I hear.
If you don’t believe me, look it up. There’s several sources that show that.
Doubt it. I’m sure the reason SSV Sp was canned from this collection, just like the 5/5 Sp combo pack, was because left uncensored 5 Sp’s violence would hit M rated material.
I’m new to Sam Sho and picked this up. Are there threads in here that give a few basics for the game? I don’t need to be great, but it would be nice to know a few b’n’b combos for a few chrs…

dont pick up the psp port as the game is garbage ss 6 does not have a full screen option, it stays in original pixel form and looks like ass.
Edit:ps2 version was cancelled in favor of the wii version which none of the stores in my district got the game since no one pre ordered it.

it was in our system for a while but they removed for pure lack of interest, i was hoping we would just get a couple in like we do with most snk games. BUt if the reserve ratio is less than 10% we just wont get it in.
I have the stand alone tenka on my ps2, and thought it was horrid! backgrounds were pathetic, character sprites were the worst the series has ever seen.
imho Samsho II was the last good one, series went down hill after that. Though I don’t mind a bit of IV.
@ SuperSamyon - Roster and movelists are pretty good, everything other including changes to fundamental aspects of gameplay, are pretty much crap. They could did better with such big dream match installment
@ Yankeebluegenes - Hows PS2 version can possibly be cancelled if it was already released? If people cant get their hands on it, I know they just download it from the net. Hell, I know people who already play it on emulators :D. PS2 version is out, anyway.

-Character sprites in Tenka/SS6 was same as in SS5sp and in SS5 and in SS4 and in SS3. Calling them “the worst spites series have ever seen” means the best sprites were those lowres SS2 sprites and that is rubbish
-SS5sp is the last good one, big roster yet most balanced of them all.
-I’ll tell you a secret about SS2, in situation where player would usually ragequit from any other SS game, in SS2 he will just run to Ukyo icon on select screen, and own every other character with Ukyo. Because Ukyo owns every other character in game with his almost impossible to punish Afterimage Dash Slash, anc controls whole screen with Swallow Slices from afar. Very fun to play on highlevel only Ukyo vs Ukyo matches xD
-After SS2 series just gained more complexity and deep gameplay, which is the reason they manage to entertain all categories of players per this day
-Also up to SS2 SS series spawned only 20 characters if count Kuroko and Delivery Man. And per this day it spawned more than 90 characters, and there is very big chance someone wont have his favourite character in SS2, like me for example, my favourite SS characters are Asura, Suija and Sogetsu
For me SS2 will always be fun-to-play old rendition of SS with limited gameplay features compared to what I usually play, and limited roster.
i wouldn’t say the sprites in tenka sucked. they actually looked more vibrant and some older characters got completely new sprites (characters that didn’t make it into ss3+). the backgrounds and some of the songs were out of place, that’s for sure.
i finally ordered my copy from amazon two days ago and i can’t wait for it. hopefully i can get my friends to play this game. they played ss on the wii and didn’t really care for it but hopefully they’ll take it a little more seriously this time.
