Anyone have advice for the sakura/vega matchup?
St.lp beats everything except ultra? You can almost just walk fw.st.lp
Corner him and dont let him escape.
The only way to get in is jumping more or less.
Random tatsus and fiReballin like daigo.
Os mp.shouken on jumpins catches the slow backflip and you land perfectly infront of the long flip.
Thats what i know, his lims are too long for whiff pu ishing more or less.
I hate him.
How do you guys deal with viper?

Can you guys explain to me what CH mean? Been searching a lot of threads to figure out for myself but no luck.
Counter Hit. wich gives you like +2 frames more so you can combo greater stuff.
I like to use that setup vs charge characters since they loose their charge and you get a meaty attack that wins what ever poke they press except invincible stuff.
CH example is a blockstring say c.lk, c.lp, far.st.hp (on CH you can combo c.mk xx hp.shouken for 322 dmg)
So for the meaty st.mp gives you +3f on block wich sets up for more pressure you can combo c.mk on hit.
St.lk for a blockstring. CH the st.lk and you can combo c.mk xx hp.shouken into it.
If they late take you can go fw and do a st.lp or st.mp again or c.hp or even closer for late trappers with cl.st.hp or go gimmiky and do dash lk.shunpu.
The possibilitys are infinit just be creative.
For Bison aswell.
St.mp xx hp.shouken wins st.mk
St.mp can win st.hk at the right range but use c.mk or c.hp xx hp.shouken instead.
After a scissors midscreen sakura can jump but som bisons tend to throw out st.mk / st.hk there to stop you.
So there you can either jump if he dosent do anything or st.mp to beat his mk or sit still and eait for the st.hk to punish it fast.
Devils reverse you can ultra it late abit tricky cuz it can miss…
Or you can do ex.srk very late and youll catch him or focus the normal one NOT ex (2hits)
Or c.hp works.
After a hp.shouken hold uf j.lp land lk.shunpu beats psycho crusher andyou can combo
After 3 otohsi lk.shunpu over him and once again to beat it.
Or just learn the timing like me a d walk fw and just do it late cuz its scarier there can be a throw or what ever.
Or do like hp.srk walk fw j.hk late safe jump c.lk c.lk block.
If he does psycho crusher through you do a reversal hp.shouken.
Or max dmg do 3 hits instead c.lk c.lp st.lk and block.
Then you get into good range for reversal hp.shouken fadc max combo.
If bison backs up in the corner and builds meter follow him with hp.shouken if yiu hit that in the corner xx ultra 2
Do fast traps for lk mashing bisons like
C.lp c.hp
c.lp c.mp
C.lp walk fw c.lk c.lp
(The walk fw is like a millisecond step)
If bison teleportS even after the tatsu, just do a hp.shouken on reaction and youll catch him.
Or Os ex.shunpu.
I guess throw in the corner c.lk j.hp/mk work in the corner.
I remeber a setup ex.shunpu dash sweep c.lp or lk j.hp
Ont remeber if it worked or what it is buts its in my head.
J.tatsu and j.hp is good vs bison he got a hard time handeling it.

Stand outiside of the scissors and whiff punish lk.scissors if he does mk or hk theyre unsafe and can be punished with like st.lk xx srk or maybe c.mk
And do focus if you think he is gonna do it aswell so he will hit the last hit of the lk.scissors into your focus let it go and ggs
I actually really enjoy the bison matchup. Bad bisons will start charging before the match starts and will do a scissor kick at very beginning of the match. If you backdash right way you can cr.mk xx shouoken…it’s pretty godlike. Really sets the tone for “you aint doing shit bipson”.
also try to frame trap the crap out him, especially when he’s not charged and is low on meter. bisons have a bad tendency to mash cr.lk in between your block strings.
On Oni if he does fw.hp the palm.
If it hits deep you can do c.mk xx shouken to catch it.
Any advice on the Balrog matchup? Seems like everything they do is safe.
Deep dash punch can be 1 f punished by st.lp, c.mk xx hp.shouoken
also after turn punch
on balrogs wakeup you can do lk.shunpu and timed correctly it goes over headbutt and wins every ex.move he tries to get out of
do focus on dash punches
and you can do focus dash cl.st.hp or c.hp or st.lp close too him cause he will throw out sweep or st.hp or something slow where you can dash through and punish him
after a blocked Smash his overhead you can do c.hp xx lk.shunpu, c.mk xx hp.shouoken
otoshi x2 backdash lk.shunpu j.mk infront j.lk behind.
cl.st.hp xx shunpu c.hp xx shunpu c.hp xx srk/ex.shunpu
after a blocked special you can do like st.lk or c.mk xx hp.shouoken i belive it was.
You have 99 seconds take your time do not take unessecary dmg, if he is abusing dash punch just adapt with focuses etc.
Against Honda, if you are applying blockstring pressure; you can jump back in order to bait his ex headbutt and be in range to punish with cr.mk xx dp. This is a good option for nearly every situation whether it be blocked focus attack or pressure strings, etc.
I noticed vs Yun that since HK Upkicks is so slow (8f) you can meaty jab vs him and be safe from reversals when he has no meter since the other versions whiff on crouchers, after you land a HP Shouo you can whiff a LP Shouo and get a meaty jab and OS sweep/shouo to cover backdashes.
Two Zangief specific (?) instant overhead setups I stole from Uryo’s stream:
Fwd.throw, lp.srk, jump back hp
(corner) ex.tatsu, dash, sweep, dash, cr.mk, jump back hp
Both these setups also beat lariat, I think the only thing Gief can do to punish these would be to not block at all on wakeup and then dash forward spd.
I really should look at these threads before I make my matchup videos…
EDIT: I read a question about the vega matchup? Got a little trick that I’ll be making a video about but i’ll post it here anyways before. On Vega (and maybe a few other people heheheheh) in the corner you can
XUP an ex tatsu and it will stay on the same side and launch as well. It works the same way Sagat’s XUP Ultra works in the corner(It crosses up, but the way Sakura and Vega’s bodies interact Sakura stays on the left side(assuming right corner) and it hits 4 times I think? It’s been a while since I looked at it. The setup will come in a day or so? when I have time to edit it. I just wanted you guys to know if you wanted to find it before the video’s ready.
Funny thing is, I think Zangief can punish even on hit with green hand- or maybe I’m just really bad.
