Lol whats your XBL? I only kick ppl for two reasons. 1.You have a disconnect rate over like 5% or 2.We previously had a really laggy match. I think thats reasonable but others may not agree. Imo 5% disconnect rate says one of two things either you like to rage quit frequently or your connection isnt very reliable. Either way I try to avoid those ppl. Hard to say really.
DeebStick. We played once… Thought the lag wasn’t too bad.
I just get excited when i see a name i recognize from the sak forums haha
Hmm not sure I remember playing you, I sent a FR maybe we can get some sets in. Hopefully the connection is decent.
Add me too brahs

Rule of thumb. When commentators say something’s unblockable, take it with a grain of salt.

Somebody tell me whats going on here.
seems adons hitbox causes ex tatsu to wiff unless its meaty?
Yeah… that happens. Happened to me versus Akuma once.
I hope they fix it in 2013. Btw dbj i started playin sakura because of you haha
The last person who started playing Sakura because of me got top 8 at a certain tournament. =3
Hey guys, what’s the proper way to approach the Chun matchup?
I’m confused as to what I should be doing in neutral. I feel like the only things that can consistently beat her ground normals are focus or fireball. I’m afraid to jump, because eating jHPx2 into stomps hurts so damn much. I basically just end up feinting with lights and focuses while matching fireballs, just hoping she falls into a lvl2 focus.
What’s the optimal range for footsies? Is there an OS that covers both her backdash and EX sbk? Should I build up an EX before trying to go in? I feel somewhat clueless.
Safe jump os dp. When you do your os make sure you hold back for a split second before doing the dp motion
I can help out here a little, I don’t have much Chun experience as not many people play her in general.
Chun beats Sakura in footsies pretty much but that’s just Chun, but Sakura can give her big issues with AAing as Chun’s AAing is pretty situational, with j.hp and air tatsu. Whiff punish Chun’s cr.hk with Sak’s cr.mk and counter poke st.mp with Sak’s st.mp/cr.mp buffer hp sho, whiff punish st.hk and st.hp with Sak’s cr.mk. Stay on your toes when she’s doing a blockstring, if she cancels into hazanshu (the overhead flip move), be ready to focus it.
Chun is pretty focusable in general, only way she can really reliabily break focus is st.mp xx ex legs or w/e. St.mp, cr.hk, hazanshu, st.hp and st.hp all lose pretty badly to focus so keep it as an option but don’t abuse it as the Chun can pick up on it and react U1 or st.mp xx ex legs or w/e else she can do.
Hanging around outside her st.mp and cr.hk range is a nice spot, where you can counterpoke st.mp with st.mp/cr.mp and whiff punish cr.hk with cr.mk.
For OSing backdash and EX SBK, you can do j.hp delayed HP sho. I believe after mp shouken, hold uf j.mk is a safejump on her and if they stay on ground, you can do dash lk tatsu or something for a crossup (can’t test it now, didn’t take AE with me home)
Chun’s sweep and overhead are both mega focus bait, stay relatively close to her and crumple it up. I’ve learned very bad lessons about pressing buttons after blocked l.tatsus, her cr.lk is just as fast as yours and easily mashable into ex legs > ultra, you need to temper yourself a bit on the pressure.
Tons of.Chuns I play do l.kikoken then walk forward using it as a shield, you can ex.tatsu over it fur free blockstring pressure at the least. You want to out play her relatively lame, she plain out-footsies Sak with most of her normals, s.mp is brutal to deal with. Watch their meter, if they have U1 they can punish fireballs on reaction, with full super they can punish any negative move.
I myself am having tons of problems with Rufus, even when I defend his shenanigans and keep him out I can’t really find a way to damage him, any guidance?

Try adding this to the above strategy.
Try running from the hoe. Randomly charge your fireball and randomly hold focus. Why do this? Because a lot of Chun Lis like to jump or do her hazanshu. Now, an EX hazanshu will cause trouble, but a charged fireball will stop that. If it’s random, it makes it hard for Chun Li to approach you. She’s very easy to AA, so you don’t need to worry too much about that.

Dude asked for my opinions on Sakura’s match up. So I’ll post what I wrote up here.
Dude on SRK asked for my opinion on Sakura’s match ups. I’ll go ahead and post what I sent him here.
Abel
I say this match is either even or slightly in Sakura’s favor. Typically, whoever gets knocked down loses.
Adon
His pressure is just way too much for Sakura. Armor breaking jaguar kick and 2 hit roundhouse. It’s just ridiculous. And his wake up games on Sakura are a lot better than what Sakura has on him. Her hardest match up in my opinion.
Akuma
Though I’m not super great at the match I want to say that this match is even or possibly slighting in Sakura’s favor. She hits him like a truck, has legit unblockable setups on him (though the way he gets out of them is lulzy), and she goes under this roundhouse by crouching and focusing.
Balrog
Rogs favor. He’s just a wall. His AAs and normals are amazing against Sak. Though Sak does have good tools in this match. She can get a good punish off of dash punches and do a lot of damage to him due to his hitbox.
Blanka.
Another one of her harder matchups. Jumping at him is super hard, his anti-air and air-to-air game is super strong against her. And Sakura can only punish his jab horizontal ball if she’s stand blocking. Though if Sakura knocks down Blanka or puts in in the corner, the match up becomes more favorable for her as she can OS and pressure him to death. But getting him in that type of situation can be difficult. The ex up ball knockdown on hit really helped out Blanka in this match. (I’m really good at this MU though and I personally don’t find it too hard, I will submit and say it’s pretty bad for her)
Cammy
Sakura has more tools to counter Cammy than Cammy has against Sakura. Very slight advantage to Sakura.
Chun
Yet another difficult match for Sakura. Chun’s close mk is godly against Sakura jump ins. Same goes for her jump back mk or neutral jump rh (though if Sakura expects this, she can counter with jump mp in a few situations). This forces Sakura to approach from the ground, but Chun’s normals are superior to Sakuras.
Cody
I just feel that Sakura has a slight advantage. Not too many super high level Cody players out there. I just feel that when I play Cody against Sakura, it feels a bit difficult.
C. Viper
Latif and I both agree that this is even. Both characters can deal with each other pretty well.
Dan
Slightly Sakura’s favor. Dan pressure is really good against Sakura, but he doesn’t have too many great normals (outside his medium kick) or great anti-airs to keep Sakura at bay.
Deejay
Crouch fierce blows up his wake up (outside of ultra). She can punish his sobat’s with her low forward (1 frame punish IIRC). And I think Sakura’s zoning against Deejay is really strong. Though if the Deejay gets a life lead, he can keep Sakura out pretty well. Sakura’s favor.
Dhalsim
I think of this the same as the Rufus match up. If the Sim is straight on his anti-airs, it looks good for him. But one mess up and it’s over. Tatsu pressure is difficult to deal with, and he gets hit by the max damage Sakura loop. Sakura’s EX otoshi is really good for this match though. So I say slightly Sakura’s favor.
Dudley
I think slightly Sakura’s favor. I found an unblockable against him with ultra and he gets hit by Sakura’s max damage tatsu loop. Nothing much to really say about the match though.
E. Honda
Though most Sakura’s think she loses this, I think she has a slight advantage. If you’re straight on your zoning and fireballs, you should be fine. Though punishes on his fierce headbutt are weird. You have to block standing and do fierce shouken. But sometimes, it will only hit once then she goes flying in the air, allowing honda to punish. But if she thinks it won’t connect fully, she can FADC into combo. Honda’s jump strong is hard to deal with from time to time though. She also doesn’t have “tricks” this match up.
El Fuerte
Sakura’s favor. Jab shouken actually gets her out of most of his wake up shenanigans. And he has no answer to tatsu. Ultra 2 goes under, ultra 1 goes over.
Evil Ryu
Slightly Sakura’s favor. Nothing too particular to this match.
Fei Long
I’ve always thought this was slightly Sakura’s favor since super. She just has good tools against him and can get good punishes on blocked rekkas and overheads.
Gen.
This one is weird for me. When I play Gen, I think Sakura is my best MU against her. He has good AAs and normals to fight her. Though if he gets cornered or hit by an ex tatsu near the corner, it gets hard since Sakura has a corner unblockable against him (he gets out of it by waking up and not blocking, but that’s risky). So I’m just going to say it’s even for now.
Gouken
He has good zoning tools. But if Sakura plays patient, she can sneak her way in and start her game. He has a difficult time dealing with her tatsu pressure. Slightly Sakura’s favor.
Guile
He has great AAs and great normals. And then he has BOOM SONIC. Hard for Sakura to get in. He gets hit by her max damage loop, but good luck getting in to do it.
Guy
Sakura’s crouching fierce is really good in this match. And she just has good tools for dealing with Guy. Sakura’s favor.
Hakan
I will go out and say that Hakan is stupid when he’s oiled. But if Sakura plays her game, she can keep him at bay and get him un-oiled, allowing her to bully him.
Ibuki
Same sentiments I have with Cody.
Juri
Slightly Sakura’s favor. They both have good tools against each other. I just think that Sakura’s a better character than her.
Ken
This shoto right here is a pain. Step kick pressure is super good against Sakura and his mixups are great against her. His AAs and normals just trump Sakura. Ken advantage.
Makoto
Sakura advantage. She can zone and bully Makoto pretty well. Makoto must use Ultra 2 in this match up to make it better for her. It shuts down her fireball game and gives her a better chance at getting in. Fun fact though, lk fukiage on wake up beats lk tatsu pressure.
M. Bison
Slightly Bison favor. The Bison player must know his spacing in this match up though, or he will get blown up. Lk tatsu beats ex psycho crusher wake up and she can combo from it. And he better not get hit by a combo, or he will get hit by the dumbest unblockable in the game.
Oni
Sakura’s favor. Sakura just has the tools to deal with Oni. She needs to know her way around his normals though, or she will have a tough time.
Rose
Rose’s favor, but not too bad. Her character design is just built to keep Sakura at bay. Though the Rose can’t get too impatient or too predictable with her fireballs. Because once she gets in, it’s hard for Sakura.
Rufus
I personally think this is one of Rufus’ harder match ups. He can’t jump, he has to be careful with dive kick pressure, and he can’t ex messiah on wake up. Sakura can zone and pressure Rufus really well.
Ryu
If the Ryu knows his anti-airs, it’s even. Sakura has some nice little quirks to this match up though. But for the most part, it’s evenish.
Sagat
Ask a Sagat about this match up, and they will make it look like it’s 8-2. But if the Sagat is great at zoning and how to AA properly, he’ll be fine. Sakura can hit him with fierce canceled into lk otoshi, which allows her to do jump in mixups with no meter. Sakura has a very VERY slight advantage in this match.
Sakura
If I’m playing Sakura, it’s 10-0 my favor. Cuz imdabes. Imdabes. Imdabeeeeeeeeesss swag swag swag swag swag.
Seth
Whoever gets knocked down first is at disadvantage. Though Sakura’s knockdowns are slightly better since she does more damage and can OS jump punish his teleports. He also gets hit by fierce canceled into lk otoshi.
T. Hawk
Possibly Sakura’s best match up. She can zone him pretty easily. But if she messes up, it’s pretty over for her.
Vega
Vega can keep Sakura out. He can also jump in her her really easily, as it’s super difficult to AA him with crouching fierce or shouken. His clay is soooooo good in this match. You have to knock this fool down or else. One of her harder match ups.
Yang
I don’t play any Yangs. But he’s like a less damaging Yun with fewer options and a worse dive kick. So I say Sakura’s favor.
Yun
Dive kick is really good in this match. Sakura has to space her anti-airs correctly, which is difficult in itself. He also has great pressure against her. Yun’s favor, but Sakura can put in that work against him when she opens him up.
Zangief
Pretty good for Sakura until gief gets meter. Then you are cut off from fireball zoning and are forced to play footsies with him (or space a good jump in to beat lariat). But Gief’s footsies trump Sakura. Though if Sakura gets a knockdown, she gets some good jump in games on him. Overall, I would say that Gief wins this match against her.
Do any of you guys have a video on that setup to get out of EX Messiah?
I need this shit pronto. Like absolutely pronto, there’s a tournament next Saturday and the best player in the state uses Rufus.
You just do cr. hp xx tatsu > cr. mp xx tatsu. If he messiahs at any point you’re good. It’s not hard.
ah fuck me, I’ve been using cr.mp on both parts, that’s why lol
I’m just gonna pitch in on the Cody matchup, I think Cody wins this slightly or even possibly 6-4, although many may disagree.
I used to play vs a really solid Irish Cody on a daily basis, his cr.lk is really really good in footsies (3f short that can special cancel and has insane reach), and his cr.lp has an insane hitbox and active frames and when Cody uses it to buffer mk rk off it, it’s pretty good vs Sakura’s cr.mk, Cody’s f+hk can hop over her cr.mk as well. Cody’s st.hk is also pretty awkward for Sakura to deal with.
But the core to this matchup for Cody is to zone Sakura, yes zone Sakura with Cody, his zoning is very underrated, his heavy ruffian blows up her air tatsu and jumpins, Sakura can’t compete with Cody in the fireball war as Cody can chuck better than she can. Cody has better zoning than Sakura does and can do a pretty good job of keeping her out, and when Sakura gets in, Cody is in his optimal range and we all know Sakura has pretty bad defense and this is great for Cody.
Sakura also has to respect Cody with U2 when she’s chucking plasma as it’s pretty easy for Cody to U2 or even bingo right through it.
The only reason why I don’t call this horrible is because Sakura does better upclose on Cody than he does on her because her tatsu makes his ex bingo whiff for a full punish so Cody really has to respect Sakura.
Also Cody has an unblockable on Sakura after forward throw midscreen >_>
At least 5.5 for Cody imo
