I’m guilty of this myself, but usually it’s more of me having 49% ultra, thinking I have meter for U2 when ex tatsu lands, then realizing I don’t and mashing out j.hk as a panic move just to make sure I get some damage out of the launcher, lol. I’ve been trying to toy with more setups after launch, I don’t go for many resets since I just get dp’d out of them, after launch near the P2 position I sometimes now will do l.shou > m.shou just to carry the person into the corner. I also suck at oki though so anything I do is probably not a good idea.
off topic but isnt quinton a name of a character from the simpsons?
i didnt watch quintons video but if the opponent jumps alot just anti air it i dont see what the problem is.
EX tatsu into a jump LP/LK left right mix up or Sabre jab dash left right (early jab early dash you land right under them.
midscreen resets tho
you can confirm with either c.LP hit confirms or you can do a cl.HP xx LK Tatsu as they land left or right and confirm from there
Quinton: The reason people are saying you’re doing things wrong isn’t because they think you’re a douche.
It’s because they think you’re a douche AND you are playing Sakura inefficiently.
Now, I could start flaming you like everyone else is doing, and you would deserve it.
But I am willing to at least offer you one last chance to realize that you are in the students chair right now, not the teacher.
You should look up some matches of players like me or uryo and see how we use her, then compare that to your own footage.
This way you should be able to notice a lot of differences, though there are many things you won’t understand why we use because
your knowledge of SF4 is very limited.
You are not gods gift to this forum, believe you me.
There’s a reason why I have been successful with Sakura in tournaments for the past two years, and that reason is I know what I’m doing.
So start trying to absorb information from players with knowledge instead of trying to prove yourself through PSN-matches.

Because, if you time it right, it works as an instant mixup; especially on shotokans. I can land on the other side of the opponent just by doing a ex-tatsu > [delay], dash, air-HP. Or, if I want to stay in front of my opponent, I can do a ex-tatsu > dash, air-HP.

First, I’d like to begin by admitting that I lost to Chaoslimits 15 - 2. At first, I used to beat him, but he’s improved a lot. I owe it to him for waking me up. He’s the very first Sakura to beat mine. I needed to know where I stood and he showed me. It’s not that I thought I was the best. It was that I didn’t know where to go from where I was. He explained to me through sheer force that I have to focus on initiating a knock down combo on every instance I touch someone. I wanted to thank him publically. At last I am humbled.
Now, as for you…
I’ve heard about you from a few of your guides. Outside of that… nothing. I’m willing to bet you’re very good and I’d love to hear advice from anyone.
Now, with that said, I never assumed I was the “teacher”. You incorrectly concluded that because of the way I engage in dialog with the other posters here. That’s completely understandable. My manner (not the content) of speech is… uhh… paradoxical. That is my fault, and I need to work on that.
I do that already, but my style of play will never be likes yours, or Uryos, or Hornett’s, etc. Everyone has a different play style. To boldly tell someone to play like you (or that they won’t understand something because of their limited knowledge) shows a pretty hefty amount of arrogance; the same arrogance you’re accusing me of. I call it arrogance because you are wording yourself in such a way as to subtly state that you’re superior to most of the people here (most notably myself). I’ve got no doubt in my mind that you probably are much better than I am, but your audacity to puff out your chest like you made the game doesn’t impress me. You don’t need to impress me, but I don’t need to listen or yield to your words either. You’ve never played me and many others here. You tell me to be humble, yet you don’t do the same.
Even Uryo plays online heavily. He plays in tournaments, yes, but he gets most of his practice online (he’s not in the arcades as much as you may think. Just read his blog if you don’t believe.) To downplay someone who plays on PSN or Xbox lives shows just how strong your self-proclaimed – self-important image is.
Look, I’m here to get better. I’m not here to prove to anyone I’m better than anyone else. I have a bad habit playing SF4 like SFA3. I’ve played SFA3 for so long that some of my spacing habits have horribly converted over to SF4. I need to fix this! I know I don’t play like some of the best players in the world. I don’t want to play like them because it doesn’t attract women. I just want to play good enough to be decent.
And now I want to pick Sakura because of u guys.
You do know that that reset isnt for everyone right?
Some characters land before Sakura in this reset are are at frame advantage.
Also stop using bold text bro. You’re not bold just ignorant.
So I’m looking for a little bit of help with the mirror match…recently I’ve had the pleasure of getting to play someone who as far as I know is our top local Sak player, and he wrecks me pretty hard(I believe I’m something like 2-40 against him). Some of it is just him having better execution than me, that I can deal with, either I’ll improve with practice and even up or I’ll level off, but him nailing all his links isn’t going to go away. However he also destroys my footsies, which I generally think I do well at against most people, and I’m not really understanding why.
Usually at the start of matches we do pretty standard stuff, back up and start chucking plasma, neutral jumping/FA’ing our way towards each other…however even if I attempt to match his movements exactly, he always comes out with the advantage. At some point he’ll be able to get me with a s.hk when I come down from a neutral jump over one of his hados, usually from pretty damn far away, but I never seem to be able to return the favor without whiffing. I know this is all really vague and I can’t provide video since we play offline at our local arcade, but any general mirror advice would be appreciated.
That what most of us are here for. I’m the first to admit I’m a huge scrub lol. Let’s all try to get along! <3
This you’ve gotta explain! Where’s the SF4 womenz and how do I play to get them!?
Chicago apparently, there’s 3 girls that got further than me in our last tourney.
loosely related, but gaming to get women is so ass-backwards, fighting games are what I do to get a break from my g/f lol
It’s ok; you’re were just being a gentleman.

Using bold text is my signature. It makes me unique among other people. In other forums, I use bold red or orange text. I know others who do the same thing.

I actually have! That’s one of the things that led to major improvements when I first started playing.
If you say so
Anywho, I’ve been having trouble with the Sim MU. It’s rough getting in, and I feel like if I do get in, it’s always out of sheer luck. And then, when I am in, he manages to teleport away after a single mix-up, leaving me frustrated that I don’t know how to OS it. Any advice on that?
Well Omni I hate tell you, but the Sim matchup isn’t great for Sak either. She does however have a slight advantage over the other shotos with Otoshi as a ticket to get in IF and ONLY IF they don’t read you or you do it on reaction to Yoga Fire. As far as locking him down after you’ve scored the knockdown. If you do meaty tastu correctly you can stop him or you’ll recover in time to catch the Teleport with a F.DP. As far as OS’s go here:
Had a hell of a time getting in/playing footsies vs. Rose last night. I feel that the matchup really should be better for me than it was, but I know that underestimating Rose is also bad. It seemed like all her pokes were faster/longer than mine, which I could probably deal with, but for whatever reason I got my ass handed to me every time I tried to get in, but a different Sak playing the exact same Rose a few minutes later was able to jump in for free with j.hp, lol. Any preferred methods of approach?
Specifically looking for something that can punish NQ Soul Spirals.
