Just saying what exactly? Was i unclear? I don’t want to argue with someone who rejects sound logic and substitutes such with meaningless statements. I hope nobody who reads this thread starts using fireball fadc as their go to punish.
**
lol.
Do you have any match ups online? Any replays on youtube? I’d love to see how YOU play.
**
I fail to see the relevence. I never said i’m good at the game. I said what you were suggesting was terrible advice, and founded on what appears to be a poor understanding of how the game works and faulty logic. And now i’m done.
**
A person who isn’t good in the game suggesting advice to be terrible… Like a security guard telling an accountant how to subtract.
**
Or someone whose lacking in skill is due to shortcomings that don’t include lack of knowledge about the game… I also never said i’m bad. But regardlesw, my lack of match videos online is hardly testament to the quality of your advice. Now i’m actually done. Sorry for derailing the thread y’all.
P.s. A security guard who had passed the 3rd grade would be perfectly justified in teaching an accountant who was so under qualified so as to not know basic how to subtract. I’m the 3rd grade graduate and you’re the incapable accountant
Quinton, punishing with a fireball is a terrible idea. It has 15 frames of start-up (1 frame less than LK Tatsu), gives crap damage and meter, and just doesn’t have merit. Any time you could (c.HP/s.HP xx) fireball FADC, you could at least use the 5-frame c.MK xx HP DP FADC into a fat combo, for more damage, meter, and with many more opportunities of use. Fireball FADC combos are purely for fun or ease of use.
Why do you bring unrelated evidence and questions of skill into play? You haven’t shown us some of this qualifying skill you keep wanting to see, and I personally don’t care about good you are, Sakura knowledge doesn’t demand a crazy tournament pro to understand. You’ve continually shown false or misguided strategy and facts for Sakura, and never back up your claims with valid links/videos/tests. I’m not sure if you’re trolling or what.
THIS. His jab dp recovers surprisingly fast and I remember Capcom adding recovering to it in AE because it recovered so fast in Super. People used to hit with that so much.
How do you guys deal with Bison’s scissor kick pressure + st.mk? I eat that alot. I’ve been trying out c.mk into dp but either my timing is off or I’m just not doing things right. Most of the time I lose to Bison is because of st.mk and headstomps/devil reverse shenangians. I like to play lame in this match up and make him come to me but when he has meter, I’m kinda in a bind.
You don’t even play Sakura. What would you know about what’s false or misguided? Last I checked, you main Makoto.
Look. If you want to see how good I am, play me in a few games. My PSN is Quinton__McLeod.
**Also, I do back up my claims with links and videos. You have a very short memory. I replied to one of your misinformed posts with TWO (not one) videos. Maybe you should read the last page before this one. **
**You can even go here: **http://forums.shoryuken.com/t/beating-those-srk-ultra-mashers/139791page-2
Alternate character. Read that thread and you make some good points but really you don’t have to know anything about Sakura to know a far reaching 5 frame normal into dp which knocks is a hella alot better than a 15 frame move which gives you frame disadvantage even on it. I picked her up 2 weeks ago and I know that. Don’t know why you’re so adamant on defending yourself, it’s nothing wrong with being wrong. Assuming you’re not trolling anyway. >.<
I don’t have PSN.
Your reply was completely corrected by Fergus, as your reply to my “mis-information” was wrong in every way. You posted a random video showing nothing about how FADC is actually -1 on block (and thus in no way a frame trap due to how frame data and throw frames work). You posted a video showing a random Makoto fighting Uryo in reply to Makoto’s cr.HP and HK Tsurugi beating Sakura’s cr.MK, and in fact there was not an example in there to counter-act my claim. Then you posted that EX Tatsu is in fact a good wake-up option.
I must ask, where is your counter-action to these claims? Fergus corrected your corrections, and I’M the one with the very short memory?
Got anything better to say outside of, “Assuming you’re not trolling.”?
The “quickness” has nothing to do with the fact that the OPTION is still there. To someone like yourself, doing a move would appear to be impractical, but it’s a lot easier to play it safe than it is to go for a combo and whiff. This is a technique that would be used by those who are a bit more advanced than someone with only 2 weeks of experience with Sakura.
When playing Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (2012), you have to use your brain. It’s like a chess match. Sure, you can start a combo and rape someone, but is it a good idea to do it? What if you go to do the combo and your execution is off by one frame? You’ll get punished yourself. This has nothing to do with punishing a character for a combo or executing a move the fastest way possible. It’s about damage control. It’s about faking your opponent out and keeping them guessing. A lot of people on SRK aren’t really all that good. Only a handful are. I’ve been in SRK since back in 2002. Anyone who has played me in SFA3 knows who I am. This include those from CTF (for example: Justin Wong, Sabre and Nibor are from CTF). I don’t have time to prove anything to you. Take what I say and do what you want. However, YOU are the people who need help and advice. Not me.
So chill out.
Alright, kid. I’ll speak simpler English so you can understand. Goo goo gaa gaa shakes car keys in front of you
1) Because of your limited amount of Sakura knowledge, Sakura CAN indeed frame trap. I’ll spell it out for you. LK tatsu > cr.HP > LK tatsu > st.LK > [Insert options]
2) I was explaining to you (in regards to the Uryo vs Makoto video) that Makato is weak against Sakura for a number of reasons. It’s sad I’ve gotta spell this out. to you. Here, have some animal crackers. pours a bunch of them into your hand
3) Here ya go. Here’s your bottle. hands you your Sponge Bob Square Pants bottle. Fergus didn’t correct me at all. We’ve been saying the same thing from the get go.
4) ex Tatsu is good for getting out of the corner. This is what I’ve been trying to tell you, but you keep falling asleep in your crib.
I really don’t think you get it so I’ll say it once more. YES, the option is there. If a move is like -30, you CAN punish it with her fireball. But why, WHY would you wouldn’t you do the easier option for a WAY more damage? Please, tell me why you’d do fireball fadc as opposed to ANY other combo. I have never and I probably will never see anyone use fireball FADC, most players I assume are smart enough to do a combo that is not only faster to execute but does more alot more damage.
Imagine this; Seth has 300 health left, you have 100 HP left. You block his lightning which is -17. You punish with fadc fireball (15 frames) maybe c.hp into shouoken. Let’s say it does 260 damage he random dp’s and you lose. Alternatively, you can do c.hp (4 frames) into ex tatsu and do otoshi to seal the deal and win. Now tell me, why WHY would you do the fireball fadc combo? Just because an option exists doesn’t mean it’s better option. I could technically punish Seth’s lightning legs with stand hard kick, doesn’t mean I will do it. That’s what you don’t get.
Damage control? WHAT? Isn’t the aim of this game get reduce your opponents vitality to zero?
If people REALLY thought execution was a problem, you’d never see Sakura players attempting 1 frame link tatsu loops. If you doubt your execution or scared it will be off, you will never get better. This is coming from a guy who’s execution isn’t good at all, but learning her combos isn’t gonna stop me. Doesn’t matter how long you’ve been on SRK, doesn’t matter if Justin Wong knows you. What matters is making the best out of situation and if you really think fireball fadc is the better option, then you’re wrong, plain and simple.
But I’ll leave it at that, there’s no point continuing. Sorry for derailing the thread.
**
I’ll answer your question. Apparently you’re confused.
I’ll make my point simple.
Because:
-
We’re not talking about Seth. We’re talking about Ken and him whiffing his ex air tatsu.
-
Because it’s with Ken, the situation is different.
-
The major point is this… Depending on the match, it depends. Usually a ken who does an ex air tatsu are random anyway. Why risk getting close?
**
Godddd i know i said i was done. But fuck fuck fuck why can’t you listen? I DONT GIVE A SHIT HOW RANDOM SAID KEN IS he doesn’t have the option to be random (or do anything at all) if you’re punishing him. There’s absolutely nothing to argue about here.
**
Look. I get it. I was just throwing the OPTION out there.
**
Everything I said was the the opposite to what you said. Ex tatsu is not a viable wakeup option or a viable option to escape the corner. Makoto/Sakura is 5-5 or slight advantage Makoto. Listen dude, it’s pretty obvious that you’re trolling, if you have nothing to contribute, just leave.
**
Oh, I’m trolling now, hmm? Ok. I’ve had another guy in another thread say something just as stupid. So, I’m going to skip the pleasantries.
First of all, you’re a n00b. You hardly play this game. Your ranking in the UK is relatively low. A person who: a) hardly plays, b) barely wins a match and c) in the UK is trying to tell me I’m a troll. Dude, I didn’t even make up the strategy of using ex tatsu on wake to get out of the corner. I had a SSF4 tourney champ from Florida suggest and SHOW this to me. I didn’t believe it was viable until I SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES.
Makoto is weak against Sakura. I’m sorry your inexperienced Sakura believes different. You wouldn’t know anyway because all you do is sit at SRK. You don’t even play the game. If we were to play right now, I’d destroy you. If you think I suck, ask your friend Chaoslimits. We play a few matches every now and then.
I don’t need someone like you (a newbie) telling me I’m wrong when you have no idea why your Sakura gets raped so much. Hell, you’re in the UK. I’ve never heard a single UK player winning any major fighting game tournament (which are held in only two countries anyway). Some of the top players in the world come from either Japan or the US. However, I won’t hold your feet to that. I’m just going to say you suck all by yourself. You’ve got nothing to contribute because YOU are the one asking for help. So why don’t you stay cozy in the UK and leave the fighting games to people who play, yes?
**
I’m not even from the UK…
**
Chaoslimits said you were, unless he’s mistaken.
