Sakura Setups and Safe Jumps

Sorry guys, I can’t seem to pull it off :frowning: I really apologize but I swear I did it a couple of times

Vega/Claw : after corner throw, walk back a coulpe of pixels, st.lp, j.hp is a fake Crossup. timing a little tricky but since we don’t have setups at all against this character it’s totally worth the time spent in the training room. If he block, we land on the same side and we can continue our pressure
can’t seem to incorporate this in a post otoshi setup, it’s like Claw wakes up differently. In fact, if you try to jump from the same point after an otoshi x2… the j.hp crosses up. I really don’t know why,

Characters have different wakeup hitboxes depending on if they are getting up from face down or face up. That’s why you’re experiencing this.

Ok, I kind of discovered something to use against Blanka and Honda. After otoshi, backjump, walk a little, lp, j. hp(fake crossup)/j.mk (crossup).
It’s also a safe jump against Honda but not Blanka. This setup is not as ambiguous as the others, it actually looks like you won’t crossup, so the j.mk could be the choice tu use the most.
The only character I really can’t deal with is now Adon. Please help me with this :stuck_out_tongue:

Made a couple of finds on Adon but only Xups :confused:

If she doesn’t quick rise, do cr.LP, j.mk; and its an unblockable (and a safe jump) again.

That’s really good to know. There’s still the possibility of a late quick rise, and then you just get a really obvious crossup and you put yourself in the corner…

Oh yeah… Sorry my thinking was backwards. For some reason I was thinking that a late quick rise would make them wakeup quicker or something, not later. Which makes no sense.

Is it normal for people to be able to just walk forward to get out of these corner fake crossup setups?

No.

If that happens, it means you are doing it wrong. If they walk forward and you press hp you hit them, if you press mk they block. I think you’re doing the jumpig attack too late

Why not record yourself doing it and then upload it so we can see what you need to fix?
They’re a little awkward to do first time but once you get them once you get used to doing them really easy!

That was exactly the plan, hopefully will be able to do so tonight. Are there any specifics in which otoshi to use?

I’m unsure but if it helps I use HK for the Otoshi and LP for the hits.

Why is it that it seems easier to do some setups in the left corner than its in the right?

One of the corners is weird, thats just how the game works. Some characters like Rose even have crossups that work on one corner and not on the other.

Doesn’t akuma have a dive kick setup that in one corner crosses up, but doesn’t in the other?

I actually only tested them in the right corner and they all worked there o_o
That’s really strange… still learning new things about this game…
