Here’s a setup for opponents that don’t tech after mp dp. Once the dp lands go into your usual safe jump setup, if they don’t tech immediately dash as soon as you land, whiff cr.mp, then st.cl.hp. They can’t jump out or grab you in this setup. It either trades with Ryu’s dp or beats it clean. And of course the st.cl.hp combos to your BnB
I tested it, and I doubt it is an unblockable, although my timing could be wrong. However, it’s really good against Cammy. Combine it with a Shouken OS, and Cammy’s only option is to block it properly, unless she has Ultra , I think. Now I feel a little more confident against the Cammy army…
Sakura resets are fine, but why bother? All of sakuras resets are really just 50/50s, except you could get hit by reversals. Why not just get a hard knockdown and do a 50/50 (or unblockable) that can OS most escapes and whiff most reversals?
Hey guys, how do I do Sakura’s instant overhead setup? Every time I try to do it, my nj. Hk always whiffs.
The setup I’m trying to do is:
(corner) EX Tatsu, otoshi 2x, back dash, lvl 3 fireball, J. Hk, nj. Hk (instant overhead).
I’d appreciate any tips for how I can get it to connect.
Idk what to say. If they block a j. Hk or j. Hp it’s really easy. Just jump and press hk almost as soon as you jump. Doing fuzzy guard on wakeup is a lot harder imo.

Good Akumas will smell setups from miles… Teleport! Cyaaaaa… haha I still believe Hadoken Trap after Otoshi works the best for Akuma… Just keep dat GOT TIER in the corner… Chip damage overhead Mk or tick throw, bait a DP (hopefuly he’ll burn some meter for FADC) or chase a Teleport (dash cr.mk DP)… Why risk to get yourself cornerned? Remember dat vortex pressure… Is it really worth it?

I think she is out of range for cr.mk DP … I think i have to try that in training mode… It must be working for sure on the short-distance teleport… I’m not sure for the long one…

That video is pretty cool, the cross up otoshi got me working in the lab. Also if this has been discussed/found already, I apologize.
Some setups I found:
cr. lk > cr. lp > cr. mp xx light otoshi (hp)
cr. lk > cr. lk > cr. lk > walk forward standing lk xx medium otoshi (hp)
jump ins:
jump hp(has to be in the center of hitbox) > cr. lk > cr. lp > cr. mp xx light otoshi (hp)
cross up jump mk > cr. lk> cr. lp > standing lk xx medium otoshi (hp)
cross up jump mk > cr. lk> standing lp > standing lk xx medium otoshi (hp)
jump hk > cr.lk > cr .lp >standing lk xx medium otoshi (hp)
It seems you can only get 1 hit of the otoshi off, only in the corner as well. There are a lot of combinations of normals you can use, especially if you use the heavy otoshi, i personally thing using heavy otoshi gives too much time for the opponent to react to. It also seems kinda gimmicky sort of like hooligan, and is like a use it once per person thing. But since it gives hard knockdown it can set up for mixups.

yea its reversable, it’s not really a “go-to” set up. Its more of use this once to throw off opponent.

Afaik, if you want to jump at akuma and punish his teleport, you have two options. You can OS jump and immediately lp.shouken when you land (i think cr.mk might work but its really hard).
Or, you can jump in the air and do air tatsu to travel farther, which lets you land and get a full punish if he teleports backward.
Honestly though, in that matchup i think youre better off just standing back to prevent forward teleport, letting him teleport backward into the corner

it literally means tap down (as in a directional input). tapping down serves as a delay in order to get proper timing on setups (like safe jumping after a juggled shouken).<br>
