there is a certain timing where you can catch him with forward jump hk.

vega back flips beat most OS… that is their deal
just walk up c.fp punish. you can do it to either of the flips. they have tons of recovery. Good Vegas should only do the short flip, if they ever do one at all
punishing with a jump in combo is a possibility too if you have predicted the flip

i was just thinking that because the attacks them selves last a little while. what about an option select hadouken lol. it might work cause hers is so slow in every aspect

that should work since we can charge it anyway and time it.

looking at the frame data

a reversal backflip recovers in 42 frames

on a safe jump we recover at 3-4 leaving ~39frames for a move
Hado startup: 15 frames leaves ~19. frame
OS Ultra2 might work better since it is 11f

I think Shinkuu Hadouken is too fast. I’ve tried OS Dan’s Haoh Gadouken against it, hits the double flip but goes past the single if I remember correctly and Haoh is probably a bit slower than Shinkuu :stuck_out_tongue:

lk super worked but thats about it. if u lk tatsu it puts u close enough to catch him on recovery with stuff though which is good

I just wanted to know if there are any tips on timing to land the LK or cr.HP after doing st.HPxxLK Tatsu.

I cant seem to land the st.LK or cr.HP to continue the combo. As far as i know, you cant plink the LK so how do you time it? any clues? do you plink the cr.HP??

lk is a 2 frame and should be doable with training.

I thought I’d see the best distance I can move a character with her. On El Fuerte I got him from one side of the training stage to the other in 1 combo with 1 bar and it’s not really that hard. Though the combo is pretty character specific you can take a few hits off on other characters and get almost as far.

L2/3 focus, lk tatsu, st.mk xx lk tatsu, st.hp xx lk tatsu, cr.hp xx lk tatsu, st.lk xx EX tatsu, lp shouoken, hp shouoken. Probably safter to do another st.mk instead of the st.hp, but I thought it was pretty cool.

With c.hp you can’t do it too fast and with s.lk you can’t mash it out. Timing on s.lk seems a bit sooner than c.hp. Thats how it feels to me but it could well be exactly the same. Just keep practicing and look for visual clues. put the training dummy on ‘autoblock’.

It’s kinda the other way around :stuck_out_tongue: With c.HP you can do it a frame sooner if you plink but s.LK (and other 3 frame normals in reach) you can do it a frame slower (in relation to the “first available frame”).

Visual cues is the main thing, it’s like a short gap after she firmly lands both feet on the ground but I’m useless with visual cue timing so I still find this one hard to do :frowning:

IIRC lk is the best and then hk is second best. I did count how many it took to move one block and lk was by far the best. But yeah kara throws aren’t always just for the range. Sometimes it can be good to have a 4 frame throw (certain frame trap situations, doing this will force their OS tech to make the short startup and then they get grabbed out of it).

what do u use against dudleys?!rly i have hard times in this matchup.nearly EVERYTHING is safe for him -.-

rly,i prefer fighting a 15+k ryu than a 3-5k dudley

Most of my success against Dudley comes from keeping it simple and NOT getting cornered. Most Dudleys do that ducking dash or jump to get in on me. Use charged hadokens to catch their ducking dash…he can’t pass through a level 2 to 3 hado and it takes off good damage. Also standing HK is great against this too. Be wary when he gets one bar though because charging any type of hado gets risky, he can do that EX machine gun that flys from across the screen and you’ll be in the corner real fast. But see if you can bait him to use it because you can get in a st.HP or cr.HP in on this move if you get the timing right and are expecting it, kinda like Balrogs EX overhead smash but a little faster, dudley does a slight pause just as he dashes up to you.

Other than that I kinda keep him away like I would Gief…I don’t rush Dudleys at all. Hope this helps.

Hey guys I’m a rookie noob scrub, but I have been using Sakura and like her as my main. I have two main problems I need help with.

  1. I can’t lay off that Shouken. I throw it like crazy, and I need some advice on how to properly use it. Specifically, how do I stop getting hit as I land coming out of it?

  2. When dealing with someone like Blanka, Cammy or anyone who just spams a fly across attack, what should I do? I hate just blocking, and my timing still isn’t sharp enough always time a response.

against a cammy who spams spiral arrow, you need to watch your spacing. it is safe if it hits at max range, but if they get stupid with it and you block it from close range you can punish with a full standing fierce combo

against blanka ball you cant really do squat. i think i read somewhere that dash shouoken works, but i wouldnt risk that even if it does. honestly just block and be patient while you slowly push him into the corner. if hes really predictable, you can punish with hadokens, or even a neutral or back jump (leads to full combo if you time it right)

i just play footsies with dudley, he as never been trouble for me lol
