If i remember well against Akuma: j.hp should get you close enough for her bnb: cr.hp/cl.hp->tatsu lk->cr.hp->tatsu ex.
Without jumping you can’t do cr.lk->cr.lp->cr.hp->tatsu ex; it will whiff. Instead you should use cr.lk->close.hp->tatsu lk/tatsu ex(can’t remember if you can follow up after a tatsu lk but close hp should give you enough time to hit confirm). It shouldn’t be that hard if you p-link close.hp with mp.
pro-tip:shouoken will pass under air hadoken that are thrown high. While air hadoken that are thrown low can be jump over with otoshi ex/jump-in.
Fight pads can range from shit to great, I’ve heard such varying reports about them it’s hard to know just how good they actually are. I got one, don’t like it
Sticks are more reliable, I’d actually suggest getting a cheap Hori stick instead of a Madcatz one, Hori EX2 is pretty good for the price and cheaper than the standard edition Madcatz Fight Stick. You’ll be able to get a good feel for sticks from it and if you want can splash out on a more expensive stick afterwards.
im on stick now but if your not planning on being serious and dont want to go through months of getting used to a stick the fight pad is great especially when compared to a 360 controller. and watch shizza play chun li with his fight pad and then tell me they suck. that guy is a beast with his pad
i agree, thats why i bought one. but if your not serious about the game or dont want to spend a couple of months learning a stick, the pad is not a bad option
There’s no reason you wouldn’t be able to pull off sakura’s bnb on pad. If you’re messing up your execution then you just need more practice.
Having said that I think that if you’re not playing on stick then it doesn’t really feel like street fighter. Hitting the buttons and doing the motions with a balltop are half the fun! :bgrin:
i just now played sf4 on xbox 360 (bought because of ssf4)
i previously SF4 PC Player, the game on Xbox feels slower!
Because of the slowness, doing 1 frame links, dashing into ultra, cr.mk into hp shou, Standing Normals canceled into circle moves seems so much easier than on PC!
I don’t suppose there’s any kind of advice of what to do against laggy players?
I made it all the way to the G2 Championship Final for the first time in ages, and it wasn’t easy. The game with my last opponent was horribly, horribly laggy. To make matters worse, I was facing off against a Ken scrub. Terribly predictable. But because of the lag, I couldn’t time anything right and lost the match. If it were a player match, I would have just left the game and started a new one. But in championship mode, if you leave a match you have to start all the way at the beginning of the championship.
