ohh sweet. good to know
I have a question regarding pressure/block strings.
My friend has been playing with mk, lk shunpu, repeat, would that be the way to go (and if so, how many cycles can I get before I’m out of range), or is there a better way to go?
EDIT: also, meant to ask this in the first place. How does close fierce interact with OST (assuming that my opponent’s c.lk is 3 frames). My first instinct would be that they trade because both attacks are active on frame 3, however if done correctly, they’re supposed to block incoming attacks. So what exactly goes down in that situation?
That’s a bit on the predictable side and predictability will be your downfall.
What’s “OST”? Option Select Throw? If s.HP and their c.LK come out on the same frame it’s entirely dependant on which move has the better hit-boxes, usually the lighter attacks seem to do better but without checking against every character it’s impossible to tell.
Depends on how you’re doing this as well, if you were to j.HK > s.HP “correctly” they’d be in block stun when the s.HP comes out so even if they were to mash LP+LK a couple of times after blocking the jump in nothing would come out on their end. If you were to try a throw immediately after a j.HK the block stun would end, you’d try for a throw and they’d have their LP+LK input to tech it. If there was a gap between your j.HK and s.HP then you’d probably get poked or trade and that probably wouldn’t have been tight enough to combo methinks. At least that’s how I think it works anyways.
Anyone like to tell me if j.HK crossup after EX. tatsu (not corner) is char specific? I can get it working on some chars (ie: Viper) but not on others. (ie: Gief)
Doesn’t work on fat/large characters apparently, I don’t like using it anyways as you don’t seem to get any frame advantage, possibly frame disadvantage
Is there any usefull way to use :r: :mk:
it has such a big start up, most times stop easily by lp/lk
Finding a way to sneak it in is the trick, you have to try and trick your opponent into blocking low.
Something I like to do is crouch just outside of throw range on a downed opponent, so looks like I might be trying to bait something, then use it and hopefully catch them on wake-up. Other times I’ve seen people use it are after blocked light attacks. You can also play mind games with it, whiffing it to fooling your opponent into thinking you’re going for an over-head then following up with a low attack.
Actually I think the Flower Kick is fastest in SF4 than any other game Sakura’s in, over-heads are generally a bit on the slow side.
Say somebody jumps in and you :d:.:hp: them, for where they’ll land, among many things, you can either do a :r:.:mk: or a :d:.:mk:.
Among many many other things.
can saks tatsu over sim’s ultra? (i haven’t played the game in over 2 months)
i think i did it once.
or maybe i was drunk.
Sakura is so beastly she can pretty much just walk through it while taunting! But to answer your question, I do not believe she can tatsu over it. I think she comes down on top of it if you try.
does anyone knows some good “guide videos”… maybe advanced ones?
maybe like the vids from “OneHandedTerror” for chun li?
eiSH’s combo/reset demonstration video is the best imo

I love the “why not?” section
man fuck the why not section, it’s all about that shenpu -> FADC -> neutral jump mk.
3 bars for no damn reason what so ever. XD
2:58 how this works???
It’s sorta explained in the comments on youtube…
maybe mzr30’s original video would be helpful as well…

the description is a little “not so good” xD
nvm,now i got it (2/10 times)
do i think right: a mashed SRK will wiff in this case? (this would be sooo broken xD)
Just remember to hit high and walk a little bit before you jump over. Some characters you can use the regular BNB to set this up, but on other characters like Viper, you need to do the extended BNB or else the distance for the trick won’t work.
i try some things atm…so far i see jMK->cMK->xTatsu/SRK… is best option
Edit: nice,it wiffs xD
The only reason why I did j.Fierce -> s.Short is because that’s what I’m used to, and I wanted to show there was another option than what mrz30 originally did =)
