Thanks Sugami
Hey every1,
I'm having a little trouble with her s.hp OR c.hp XX lk.Tatsu XX c.hp XX EX tatsu. Once I get to the c.HP, it doesn't combo. Am I missing something?
better timing. thats it. your just a little off
Technically itâs s.HP xx Light Shunpuu > c.HP xx EX Shunpuu since âxxâ means a cancel where â>â means a link
Also c.HP xx Light Shunpuu > c.HP doesnât work on a few characters (Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan I think), they get pushed too far away for the second c.HP to make contact.

Itâs in Destinâs Guide on page 2.
Each frame is 1/60 of a second. 2 frames are only 1/30 of a second and 4 frames are 1/15 of a second.
Alternately, if a frame was 1/6 of a second and Sakura had a 15-frame startup it would be two and a half seconds before she fires her hadouken, which is experimentally incorrect.
Whoops, heh. I knew it was 60fps, just forgot about the 0 and then worked with the wrong value
Actually itâs really easy. cr.:mk:, buffer dpmotion, keep :mk: pressed, if hit press :hp:, if blocked hold down back and release :mk:.
So the trick here is to keep mk pressed, because a button pressed or released is input. By keeping it pressed you can freely buffer dpmotion without worrying about otoshi coming out. If cr.mk gets blocked make sure you go to downback before releasing mk otherwise you might still do the otoshi.
To really get 100% confirm practice putting out the dpmotion in cr mk a lot. That way you only have to press one button for it too work also look closely at the opponents model, if it cringes press hp, if blue sparks come out hold down back. You got to train eyes and hands.
This kind of pro stuff gives me a headache but Iâm sure its well worth it if peopel can do it on reaction in a bind.
Hereâs a noob question, but Iâm having huge problems with Chun-li. Is there any way to counter one of her fierce punch jumping attacks. More specific: is it possible to use c.HP to knock her out of the air as you can against all other chars? Or do I have to block it somehow?
c.hp work great against chun li. you just have to time it a little later than usual because she stays in the air longer than most characters
Didnât see this, the problem isnât getting Otoshi instead of Shououken. Holding down MK would seem like itâd make negative edge happen more x_x;; Anyways the problem is being able to recognise a hit or not quick enough and itâs pretty impossble, I canât do it off a jumping attack, let alone straight off the ground.
Quite a few times I think it hits when it doesnât, then I get the Shou blocked and rape follows
Nah, what you do is. Before you release your MK you make sure you got to downback. If you practice this motion a lot(downforward, down, downforward, down, downback) while executing MKâs youâll have no problem with dealing with MKâs that hits or one that gets blocked because it all depends on the push of a single button(HP).
Two questions on thread jargon.
Iâve been reading threads and getting some great info, but there are two bits of jargon Iâve still not been able to decode.
option select - This is what I do when configuring my game options, resolution, model detail, language settings, mic gain.
B&B - Bed and Breakfast? Sounds like the thread is getting off topic if weâve turned to hotel accommodations.
Also. What are the practical application of block strings?
I saw them in a tips video, but I didnât understand why or when you would use them.
-JAG
Option select: Entering in a command string that causes one of two outcomes based on game state. The most obvious is the option select tech/lk. If you think your opponent may attempt to throw you can input :d:+:lp:+:lk: and if the opponent throws youâll tech (because you input :lp:+:lk:) but if the opponent does not throw youâll fire off a :d:+:lk: as a low attack. There are more advanced ones that will either continue a combo or do nothing depending on whether you hit your opponent or not as well.
B&B: Bread and butter â a standard combo that is a good balance of easy-to-execute and damage.
Block strings can fulfill a few purposes: They can train your opponent to keep blocking, allowing you to interrupt a block string early for a throw later in the match. They can position your opponent where you want them by pushing them back into a corner or keeping them at armâs length. They can also, if they include specials, cause chip damage. Or they can buffer out moves with high recovery cost into moves with lower recovery cost making certain moves âsafeâ.
Wow⌠Fantastic and enlightening response. Thank you kindly, sir.
I think I would like to learn more about option select moves first.
With the throw tech option select that ZeroSumHappiness describes there you can turn it into a 3-way option select by holding down-back while you press LP+LK. That way (as long as you time it right) youâll block if they attack, tech if they throw, or do cr.LK if they do nothing.
If you get throw even though you use this option select it usually means that you hit LP+LK too early, so theyâre throwing you out of the startup or the cr.LK as it comes out.
Does Saks have any good option selects?
Itâs not too difficult, just train yourself to do a dp motion with every c.mk.
Make that 2nd nature first, then when you land that random poke youâll always be ready with a follow-up.
hi guys and girls. i main guile but iâve been picking sakura just to fool around with recently since i took i heavy beating from a great sakura player.
i noticed that j.hk, cr.lk, cr.lp, cr.mp, ex tastsu doesnât hit unless you get the perfect spacing. this is total bullshit considering frickin ryuâs does huge damage and works every time.
so i was wondering two things.
-
as a new comer to sakura, what bnb combo would you advise me to perfect first? i want to learn something similar to the one above, but one that hits consistently.
-
secondlyâŚis it my imagination, or am i right in saying sakuraâs moves do ridiculous amounts of stun? iâve never stunned players so quickly with guile.
i just wanted to say that i really enjoy using sakura. itâs a shame she is labeled as a âshotoâ because really she doesnât play very similar to ryu/ken/akuma whatsoever. sheâs more of a challengeâŚand far more fun to boot.
