I have set up an IRC chat where we can meet up and chat in.
Put whatever name you want in in “nickname” and put in #SakuraSF in the “channels” box and hit “join chat”

Get in there guys/gals!
Nice!
I don’t use that but good job dude.
It’s just a website. You don’t need any software or registration. Very easy to use.
Alternatively, you can also use IRC clients liike mIRC (I use this), Quassel, Icechat, for a better IRC interface/options but webchat does the job grand if you’re just chatting.
Hey Fergus, trying to use an Android client but there are tons of info to fill in (like server, port, password). Any help?
I wouldn’t be too familiar with phones and their associated apps. I’m not too sure on this sorry. Maybe google would provide a better answer?
I guess the settings are the same. I need the server name and port number if you have those.
Try this:
server = us.quakenet.org
port = 6667-6669
user/pass is going to depend on your account, but you should be able to leave it blank and get prompted for a name later on.
I use mIRC all the time for CSS, finding ringers and scrims, but using it just to chat? lol isn’t that what AIM/MSN are for?
Does anybody use this? I thought it was a great idea for us to socialise or for people to make team sakura meetings easier. I’ve been in there twice and its only ever just me and Ggawaran.
It’s a great idea if you had enough people stopping by. Shoryuken’s Training Team back in the vanilla days was a decent amount but nowadays its SF channel is empty, and is apparently only advertised in the Ryu forums.
Perhaps expand the irc channel to all characters, advertising on the main SF discussion forums and inviting everybody?
Hmm. But then again, there’s people that never visit the main SSF4 board (such as myself) due to usual trolling/waste of time, unless things have changed since I last went there. Last thing I remember was people wasting time talking about BP/PP pointz and who’s gdlk on PSN/XBL.
How about advertising in each character subforum instead? That’d be sure to get everybody’s attention.
I have no idea what their current plans are. But I really don’t think they have any plans. I have no idea if it’ll be used for AE.
I found the XBL version of the thread (located on page 3 of Ryu forums, no less) but I couldn’t find the PSN version: http://shoryuken.com/f261/srk-training-team-xbl-201485/
Yeah the last post is from December 2010… lol.
I’m sure it wasn’t exclusive, at least back in vanilla days. It was mostly Ryu/Sagat ofc, but I did remember playing other players. Even if it was an exclusive thing, making a new non-exclusive training team would probably be better.
I dunno exactly what you should say. I think if we wait until AE is released, we can play off its hype and exponentially increase the hype.
Just discuss with other mods on what we can/should do.
You guys don’t wanna join in the fun? I think Fergus is tired of me already ;_;

Naw lol, I’ll never be tired of you >.<
People don’t even join PSN chats these days. I don’t see how everyone will bother with this IRC thing. And now with the new forum layout I cannot make any announcements.
there were around 7ppl in the chat yesterday
So, is the idea of getting a SRK training team over?
I see. Well I’m in there now with about 4 people. More than I’ve ever seen before lol.
No we can still do it. I’ll just make a thread on the ssf4 board since I can’t do announcements on this new system.
I found the thread you were talking about:
The old channel was #StreetFighter4 according to post #16 on the first page.
Today being the AE release date seems like a good day to re-launch the #StreetFighter4 channel and our own #sakuraSF channel.
We might convert some people to Sakura if we are nice to them and get some games going.
there are a group of people on quakenet that have had a channel named #streetfighter4 for quite sometime. They also stream matches on a daily basis.
