The thing I worry about it if ultra 2 can combo the same way as the original AND has more uses, where’s the strength in ultra 1?
I don’t think these minor changes to her will make people want to drop their mains. She might go up a few on the tier list but that’s probably it.
I think that the general idea is that one ultra is going to be difficult to combo into but does more damage, while the other will be more versatile and do less. That’s not just for Sakura, that’s everybody.
Ex-Tatsu into ultra as it stands only works in the corner and that requires decent timing. Tatsu out of corner into ultra requires a dash that is considerably more difficult. I would bet that her fireball ultra requires Ryu anti-air shoryuken into ultra timing. Which is to say “mash that shit out, you can’t miss!”.
Have you tried to play rufus online? I don’t even think it’s possible to do the 1frame link from s. lk to s. hp. Not to mention, hit confirm dive kick.

That’s not true, you can time it so you only miss the first hit of the Ultra or you can walk forward a tiny bit to land full Ultra. Dashing into Ultra isn’t that hard, the dash actually helps with the timing.
Problem is Haru Ranman doesn’t do great damage as it is, Shinkuu Hadouken being the more “versatile” Ultra will only do less damage and thus might end up doing even less than Metsu Hadouken (when it probably has fewer applications). I’d like to see Shinkuu Hadouken with the same damage as Haru Ranman and Haru Ranman’s damage upped to Dan’s Shissou Buraiken, or better yet Ken’s Shinryuken.
^This. Haru Ranman needed a damage boost to begin with, but I’ll gladly take that level of damage for Shinkuu having more Ultra setups, not just easier ones.
Am I the only one who thinks that the shinkuu hadouken isn’t really that much of a buff? Given the ease of Ex tatsu to ultra, shinkuu is gonna have shit damage. then after damage scaling, its gonna be even shittier… And it ends her mixup game and stun. sure it sounds like a good anti air on paper, but seriously, counter ultra on reaction?
I’ve played him online extensively, other than that single important link he’s incredibly easy to play online and pretty hard to deal with. Are you really having that much trouble hit confirming a dive kick, I never had the same problem, just don’t play two bar matches and below.
so basically it’s like her ultra right now, but perhaps easier to land. some people take that to mean it will deal less damage and it makes sense. maybe they’ll buff up her U1 damage and have U2 deal the same damage U1 used to deal
It might end her mix up game but so does Haru Ranman The only time the ultra needs to come out anyway is if you’re sure it’s going to kill them or if your opponent messes up on their part.

Also, I hope all the people calling her Suckura and counterpicking her with Gief don’t flock to her if she’s upper-mid (which probably won’t happen)
Yeah I know that. I’m just trying to say that Haru Ranman is already sufficient - shinkuu hadouken does less damage just for “easier” execution.

I think it’ll have a few more uses than after an EX Shunpuu and as AA. EX Hadouken FADC and fireball traps come to mind. Daigo’s used Metsu Hadouken in fireball wars on reaction, so it’s there for people who are that quick but for the rest of us (e.g. me) we’ll be buffering it when expecting jump-ins, it’ll be harder to do than Ryu’s classic LP SRK > Ultra that’s for sure.
Shinkuu Hadouken also seems to have pretty good recovery, looks like 1-1.5 seconds, fires it, “woo” animation and she’s off. If she catches them in the air after EX Shunpuu she might have recovered by the time they’ve hit the ground.
People won’t flock to Sakura because she’s got a few tweaks, she’s not new anymore and anyone who does is probably the fickle sort that’ll bugger off to Ryu or Sagat again once they start missing their SRK/TU.
Depending on it’s juggle properties, it might be able to juggle after a shouoken in the corner, since that leaves the opponent at around the appropriate height to land a Haru Ranman.
Yet to see a fireball Super/Ultra that couldn’t juggle, I’d be very pissed if Sakura’s Shinkuu Hadouken and Dan’s Haoo Gadouken didn’t have rather high JP
Shououkens might not give you enough time to get in the juggle, not like we throw this shit out randomly However a link into LP Shou in the corner for Ultra when there’s no meter for EX Shunpuu would be handy.
Ive been a huge Sakura fan since SFA3. This is freaking awesome!!! I cant wait to play her now!
