Im pretty sure otoshi counts as 3
This is true, Otoshi does count as 3 hits.
This I must agree, I’ve had run ins with several good/decent Sak players lately and that move should be treated as a special move because of how effective and annoying it is. I cringe every time my cross up or jump in on a Sak in wake up gets beat decisively without even a trade for my troubles. Oh and it even auto corrects very effectively as well.
That c.hp is un-fuck-wit-able.
After realizing that c.hp beats damn near every jump-in, i stop wondering why her dp doesnt have invuln frames.
how combo scaling works in the game is that multi hit moves only add to the scaling if they require more than one button press/input. that’s why moves like tatsu or srk for sakura count as one, but her otoshi counts as 3 (assuming you press 3 times to get the full move).
another example: Sagat’s standing roundhouse is multi hitting move that counts as 1 move for damage scaling. Bison’s j.mp x2 is a multi hitting move that “requires” 2 button presses and therefore counts as 2 moves.
focus attacks count as 2 hits and so do ultras.
What’s with all the cr.HP worship in this thread!? Sure it beats a bunch of stuff, but it whiffs on empty jumps. People just keep trying the wrong thing to beat it.
srk mostly sucks at sf4, what do you expect?
Agreed. Who tries to jump in all the time anyway? Stop being so predictable and maybe you wont get hit by the minor damage that move even does… Without that move Sakura would go from one of the worst to the worst character in the game. Even with her Ex Tastu game.
Doesn’t an option select crouch + throw essentially … beat her reset game? If you try to throw it’ll either be teched or crouched under and hit by the c.lk, if you attack it’ll be blocked, if you do nothing they’ll hit you with c.lk, if you block you’ll block the c.lk and you’re back to square 1?
I dont understand your question… but I’ll try to answer it…
If Sakura’s opponent tires to c.lk after an “Ex Tatsu Dash Under Reset” then that opponent is in trouble. He can lose to Sakura’s c.lk or c.lp because she has priority because she was already on the ground while the opponent just landed. Plus a Sakura throw in this reset situation beats out c.lk mostly… She can play mind games by not dashing to the opponents other side and the opponent has to guess what Sakura is even doing. She can also jump and hk on her way down if she predicts a c.lk or throw from her opponent.
I dont know if that answered your question.
yea, I was thinking neutral jump hk would beat option select, but I’m sure any one who wasn’t just blindly mashing lp+lk would have time to at least stand up and block… though even if you block, sakura has a chance to go into a block string, maybe into a tick throw or something…
of course, then again I get thrown when I try to continue my mixup starting with OS, so wtf do I know… Like, I’ll cross under then attempt crouching lk+lp, c.lp, c.hp xx ex tatsu but I get thrown out of what I thought would have been an option select…
I just suck at street fighter.
I wish her throw range was improved in super.
Seem to misunderstand what I meant by option select.
If one option selects after the reset, then a series of things can occur:
If Sakura goes for a hit, it will be blocked.
If Sakura goes for a throw, it will be teched.
If Sakura doesn’t do anything, she’ll get hit with c.lk.
If Sakura blocks, she’ll block the c.lk.
People often option-select the same input I described before when people are waking up, so that if they try to throw they’ll tech it, if they try to wake-up srk they’ll block it, if they don’t do anything then you can open up a combo on them etc.
Your block is not guaranteed, as you have to guess which side she is on.
Beyond that, you can time your attack a bit later to hit the startup of their attack. It is difficult, but that is a fundamental problem with the SF4 offense in general, not sakura. Sakura has great frame adv attack which easily hit confirm into big damage, so in general throwing out option select throw break 100% is not a great option, but it isn’t a terrible option in SF4 either…
+3 on mk tatsu hit.
How will you know which direction to block? Part of the reset mix-up game is ambiguous cross up.
Plus Sakura’s crouch lk/lp are 3 frames. If she initiates this a frame before the opponent initiates the option select, they’ll get hit…and, that’s assuming the opponent has a 3 frame crouch lk. A lot of characters don’t, so it’s even worse for them.
EDIT: beaten by Destin
And if it misses, it has a really slow recovery!
Well ive been using sakura from release and i personally think she needs a medium kick cross up with enough hit stun you cant be srk’d after, A faster standing roundhouse that poke is Godlike lol .
A better hadouken i see alot of players saying she doesnt but i mean she needs abit of zoning capabilities for tougher match ups like geif also a increase on damage for a max charged hadouken because if you managed to hit that then you probably earned it if not then at least her cvs2 fireball which is safe on block and allows you to safely build meter and go into a tick throw…
And a better ultra the amount of times i have done her ultra thinking it would take away the rest of someones health and it doesnt leaving them with a slither of life if i have full revenge meter i want you to feel my ultra and understand that your going to be taking damage from it not laughing because of the pitiful damage
Just make her top tier again please or similiar to her alpha 3 and cvs2 counterparts… Giving her that shun-goku-satsu from ex series would be pro make it similiar to dans ultra run through stuff and offing guys
You sure? Every time I tried this against Vega’s j.fp I lost/traded badly. Do you have to do it early against him?
Even if it hits, and you fail to cancel into a special, it has horrible recovery! lol, I don’t want that changed tho…
Max charge hadou should knock down.
That might be spacing specific, but yeah, you do have to do it early against any incoming air attack that has a good vertical hitbox (such as Dictator’s j.fierce).
Anyone else a little worried that if they mess with prejump frames as rumored that her resets might be affected?
I’m afraid characters like Abel and Sakura, who rely on resets might get hurt if they shorten prejumps frames too much…making it too easy to jump out of them. It’s not like Sak and Abel are exactly top tier as it is…
