Mhmm. Good documentary of the Knee, Sugami!
It shall be preserved for the ages.
I take it there were no horrible mistakes other than a couple of typos, excellent I figured that if I couldn’t record decent Dan matches then at least I can make decent tutorials
Little insider info; when I did the SRK FADC Ultra on wake-up the Ultra was too early and missed, that’s why I faded out before you saw it come out

Edit: Wow. Round 2 of the second match. You don’t get more awesome than that!!
That was indeed awesome pressure second match second round, too bad that kind of pressure is character specific.
I don’t know that I’m going to be able to share more videos. Disgustipated, who’s been capturing and uploading my replays, had his capture card fried. Kraiden had also been grabbing them, but I haven’t seen him around here for a while.
Is there anyone else here who would be willing to grab my replays off XBL and upload them? Or am I finally going to have to overcome my technophobia and figure out what I need to buy/do in order to make my own?
I could do it Just befriend (gamertag same as screen name) me and tell me when there’s a new replay up
Stuck at work for a while, but I sent a friend request from here via the internet. Amazing what this internet can do!
There should be a replay ready and waiting to go already. I lost out on a vs. Dhalsim replay because I got a new one before it made it to Youtube, the current one should be against Zangief. Which means I get to taunt more than usual.
Done

Estimate more than 50% damage done to him was with the Knee and he didn’t seem to catch on that Air Knee beats Lariat
Knees Landed
Round 1: 9
Round 2: 7
Round 3: 6
Total: 22
Nice! How the hell did that idiot make it to G1? G2 scrubs will usually catch on to the air Knee of Justice and start using the green hand to move out of the way and SPD you on landing some point in the second round.
360+PPP mashing goes a long way
Normally against good Zangiefs I have to adjust once they stop falling for Knee bait and switch to normal jump-ins, which become very usable once the Lariat is removed from the equation. If I don’t have to switch it up, though, why should I?
That’s an example of the high-risk strategy I usually employ against Zangiefs, though, including the ever-popular dash up and throw. Throwing Zangief as he’s getting up beats everything he can do except his command throws/Ultra, but at a certain point Zangiefs stop automatically doing wakeup throw attempts, just like Ryu/Ken/Sagat stop doing wakeup DPs. By bravely standing in front of him and throwing him when he gets up, you can tempt him back into his old flowchart ways, and be ready to punish him the next time with a neutral jumping combo. Of course, it’s high-risk, because being caught with an SPD or heaven forbid an Ultra Combo is going to far outdamage what your throws do.
One last note to make after watching that game again. At one point the Zangief did land his headbutt on me. The end result from that was me dashing 3/4s of the stage away from him. The stun on that move is monstrous, as everyone knows, so if you get hit by it just get out of Dodge. It does usually beat the Air Knee, too, so be wary of that. It’s one advantage of pushing Zangief into the corner, if you fall prey to the headbutt you have a lot of ground to cover as you run.
Thanks for getting the video up, Sugami. I might have another soon, I left my Championship play at the Final match with over 450000 CP earned already, so we’ll see if I can turn that into another Saikyo victory.
Ah so that’s why you dashed away like that, wasn’t sure what attack he got you with but now I know
No worries, not really using it to record my matches so might as well record someone else’s Once SSF4 pops up will hopefully have a lot more matches to record thanks to the battlelog thing they’re doing
Epic level match there (At least on your part, Mao). Nice capture too. It had everything. Gratuitous dashing, Knees and a Legendary Taunt. All up in a Championship Final.
Yeah, nice match. Good work Xiahou.
Saw this on eventhubs a few days ago -
Pretty sweet Dan combo at the start.
And here’s a PSN replay I upped a few days ago from some Japanese player -
Fun but completely impractical Dan combo
Can’t wait for SSF4, if Haou Gadouken has juggle capabilities (it better had!) I’ll be trying to find every possible way to juggle into it, be it useful/practical or not
And an insane amount of throws.
Well, here’s the first match of me vs Damdai at Battlefield Arcadia X. Granted im pretty sure i only won that round because of a fluke, i think i did alright. I used too much back dash and not enough knee pressure, oh well. That’s one more round than i thought i ever would have gotten against Damdai. The only other time i ever beat him before that was in casuals with Vega, with once again, a lucky ultra. Nobody expects the completely unsafe point blank level 3 focus!

I’ll update the post when the other match comes up.
Xiahou Mao’s been busy

Feel you were unlucky in the second round being hit by the Ultra and wake-up Ultra vs back dash usually wins on most characters Was the game a bit laggy? Seemed like there were times where you did stuff that you don’t usually. Good close finish, kinda funny Abel says “Got to be careful.” and shortly later gets KO’d
Also what’s with the dashing into someone on the ground? Does it push them into the corner quicker?
Nice game D-bus, was a pretty mean Ken, kept catching you trying to throw him I guess and was able to hit confirm into that SRK quickly. Those commentator’s know jack shit >.> jump taunt does not build meter and certainly isn’t safe, Dan’s hit-boxes when dizzied are still normal (or normalish) as well, it’s a crumpling Dan you have to be careful about. What’s with the miss on the FA3? D:
