So considering HD Sagat does not have the 2-hit cancellable standing short like ST Old Sagat does, let us discuss: How can HD Sagat deal with his bad matchups? (Specifically, Dhalsim?)
i read that sagat can juggle 2 tiger knees into super, but i can’t get it to hit. is it possible?
i think it’s possible for speed 0?
the speed doesn’t affect gameplay directly, so, no. i also tried comboing into super with an AA tigerknee, never managed to get it to work. probably not possible.
What do you do when you back an opponent into a wall? HD Sagat’s options seem to be kinda limited or maybe I’m just biased to ST Sagat’s domination in such a situation.
bait them to jump on their crappily-timed anticipation then TK *2 them back into the corner, or just standing strong. spacing-dependant, of course.
if further than 1/2 screen, keep timing your tiger shots. They’re not a completel rape-fest this time around; you actually have to have some forethought in your tiger shot patterns.
Whats the best Knee to anti-air in? Seems like in most situations I’m better off just doing an Uppercut instead. I get the Knee stuffed sometimes, as opposed to a deep/late TU.
TK into super is not possible. Sirlin said so.
-
if they’re close to you and in the air, deep TU.
-
if they’re beginning their jump from an anticipated tiger shot from 1/2 screen, do the TK.
-
if they’re beginning their jump from 1/3 screen and before they toss their jump attack out, anticipate, then TK.
-
if you anticipate them doing an action from less than 1/3 screen away, FK TK.
for me, tiger shots are baits now for anticipated TK opportunities.
just some things i’ve done; maybe bad practice, but it’s worked.
This was posted yesterday. Am I missing something?
Aside from this, Sagat is too buff. I’m loving this game too much.
some news regarding the crossup combo:
does not work against chun - was to be expected, kind of. she’s just too thin, c.mk won’t combo.
so just leave the c.mp away.

Also someone here already posted that omni did it to them before.
…james chen.
If you noticed, the combo had Zangief in there. He has a huge hitbox…maybe that’s why he was used? I’m going to guess it’s also a bit easier to land on T.Hawk?
…and Zangief on the descent during the final 2 juggle hits of the super. just my observations.
allright, mystery solved. only the 2nd part of the super can juggle. that was my first thought after seeing that the TK-part of the super didnt connect in training mode, but never managed to get the 2nd part to hit, so i just assumed it wasnt possible alltogether.
some new info:
the combo that was posted before (c.mk in close HP) does a single point of damage more than the crossup combo i posted. keep in mind that both c.mp and c.mk:
a.) hit low
b.) have 5 frames of startup
c.) do the same damage
so i guess it’s a matter of taste.
c.MK, s.FP is soooooo easy.
The fuck? Zoolander…how did they do TWO TK’s and STILL managed to connect a super? I’ve tried it tons of times and not a one connected. But I did grab this from Sirlin’s page. It baffles me how they did it.
"I think the ability to walk forward and do it because of the Dragon Punch command, coupled with the usefulness of scoring a knock-down even on a glancing blow makes it a much more useful tool. And no, you can?t juggle with a super after a tiger knee. "
EDIT: Bah, two posts up explained why. Just nevermind this post. I’ll be on sometime tomorrow if anyone wants a fight.
get them to stupidly jump to HYPEr tigeruppercut.
Or do what I do.
jab, jab twice to see if they block or hit, if they block, go in for a throw. Otherwise more jabs to keep em there til they jump or they stupidly jump
Jump ins seem kind of useless with sagat, because of revesal DPs and such so my question is do you guys just bait jump ins from your opponet with TS then wait for TU and TK? Also on wake up what do you use? I normally use a mix of low and high TS and cancle in to s.TU if its low and just wait for them to move if its a high. What kind of wake up options does sagat have other then a DP that wont get stuffed? Ive tried to use s.TK to get in and try to throw a short for a tick throw or just throw them after s.TK, but I keep getting thrown instead, any help? Also what kind of follow ups do you use after a 2 hit TK juggle and knock down? Only thing I can think of thats safe is TS, because of stupid ass DP reversals. One more thing, how does block stun work in this game and how much can TS cause? Is the amount of block stun dependant on the type of TS such as a f.TS causes more block stun then a s.TS, sorry if this sound like a dumb question. I never played ST so im not sure how the game engine is.
EDIT: I found that Sagats s.RH makes a good AA so you can mix it up between s.RH and TU. Please correct me if im wrong on this one.
Something to keep in mind for you guys from playing online with Bacardi. Honda jab headbutt will go through low tiger but not high tiger. Mind you it can still be ducked just something to keep in the memory bank. Unless it was just pure BS that it didnt while we were playing lol.
Pretty sure jab torpedo beats high tigers and every other fireball with the possible exception of Ryu’s super and Akuma’s red fb. Maybe you got hit before the move’s invincibility kicked in?
