So guys, apparently in the usf4 we will have access to delayed wakeups and red focus.

What do you think this will influence the game in general, and more the king in the upcoming game?

I haven’t put deep tought into this but from what i can imagine, sagat’s game will get stronger with the removal of unblockables and the access to delayed wakeups which can prevent him from getting damaged so hard from the “knockdown” game/characters that were giving him such a hard time.
I think zoning will actually be something to invest now. But on the other hand, red focus will also be a tool to get past the fireballs and come up with new dangerous situations. So it’s something we will have to see in time.

Can’t wait for the release.

I haven’t been playing Sagat long, but I’m a little worried. The risk for throwing a fireball at mid range may be increased due to red focus eating ex TS now. Delayed wake up will fuck with meaty wake up pressure. If they take away trade into ultra the reward for NOT throwing a fireball at that crucial range won’t pay off.

I might just be wrong as hell though.

Sagat is considered high tier in SFxT and can play well at any range.

As long as he gets the buffs he NEEDS I imagine his placement will be the same or virtually the same in Ultra

It’s still a 2 meter focus to eat 1 meter of your ex bar, so i would say it’s fair.

  • Second hit of Standing Light Kick is special cancellable.

  • Gets full hit of Ultra 1 under all circumstances, apparently.

  • Tiger Knee makes opponent stand if the first hit connects.

  • EX Tiger Knee is 0 on block now.

  • Ultra 2 will do full damage on airborne targets now.

uppercut trade to ultra is gone.

im perfectly fine with loosing uppercut trade with the force stand TK and u1/u2 full damage.

Finally footsies are back.

Yeah I’m not worried one bit the other buffs are awesome.

Thinking i’m gonna load up vanilla in PS3 to get used to s.lk canceling again

I don’t know, I feel like the loss of trade DP ultra is pretty big. I like his other buffs and his footsie game has certainly improved and no more getting punished for a well placed TK with forced stand. It’s still not a heavy zoning game so the idea he can’t get much damage without 2 bars (even more than before with the trade gone) unlike a lot of characters hurts in my opinion. With that said I find it hard to believe he won’t become a better all round character with delay wake up in place.

I ain’t got no worries. The buffs make up for it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Sagat break even (or win) the trade most of the time?

According to loctesters Sagat is top tier in the current build. Never forget that solid tools > fraudulent bullshit.

Sagat NEEDED trade Ultra he was lacking but with fixes to his tools, he doesnt have to rely on nonsense.

Solid tools yes, forced stand was a must have, but to me with ssf not being a heavy zoning game that loss of good damage for making people jump and proper spacing is big. Up damage for uppercut I’d say to even it out even if he has better mid range tools now.

The full Ultra animation more than makes up for the trade Ultra. That alone is a massive buff. Trade Ultra was dumb anyway.

Sagat needs these buffs looking at what some of the other characters got.

´´ Second Hit´´ That means If it hits once its not?? If thats the case , then this Change is worthless. It will be just easier to cancel out of the second hit. Mybe it will Change blockstringes if the Puschback of 1 and 2 hit st lk is now different.

Great. Goodbye safe 2-hit tiger knee preassure. It can be still safe on certain distances if they stand on second hit, but it becomes worthless with this change. I dont understand what else they try to do with this Change.

Finally, The damage after hit confirm - dp fadc - Ultra 2 was laughable

  • Sagat can no longer trade a Tiger Uppercut into Ultra.

Wow, thats a big one. If they didnt change Sagats TU hitbox or/and buff his TU anti-air damage than this will kill Sagat. It trades very often if your Timing isnt perfect. it gets even beaten by jump ins. Even without Ultra you wont get extra ´´Highstep Kick´´ damage afterwards. Everybody feel free to jump on sagat.

Im surprised that the tester Sagat say that he is top now. Maybe its not that bad if you see some USF4 footage of Sagat.
We’ll see about that.
