On topic : I don’t really think Sagat is overpowered, then again I’m not at a “pro” level, although I do believe that his tiger uppercut should get a tiny nerf.

False - Sagat is most definitely the best character in the game by a significant margin. The runner ups are close enough to make the game competitive, though.
There’s actually a debate here? So, the fact that Sagat has many armor breaking moves, insane damage, some of the fastest, longest normals, great projectiles, and the second biggest health bar in the game ISN’T enough to end this? It almost seems like common sense to me. But hey, at least most of the people who use Sagat online are scrubs so it’s an easy win.

Unlike some assholes here, I dont think you was a rage quiter. Not everyone who quits is a damn rage quiter. Maybe it was laggy, no one would know since there is no video of it. I quited one time before due to lag too, but I quited pretty much in the first few seconds though. At least for me, it seems people lags alot when I play ranked so I dont. I play player matches, and it is alot more fun. Met alot of great players that way too.

i can do all of sagats combos and i can land his FADC on tiger to ultra 100% of the time, and i can mix up with FADC after tiger shot to pressure but i cant win with him, i know that sounds nuts winning with vega and getting raped with sagat, but i guess im missing something with how to play him
i have mad props for anyone who can use him though, i tried and i cant handle how slow he is, i really like the bs he can pull with comboing into his ultra though, doing f. rh twice after FADC’d upper cut is brutal
and you lucky sagat players can combo super into ultra, thats just dirty

You’re one of the most patient Ryu players I’ve seen and sometimes that gets to me. Just thought I’d let you know, haha. Next time we play I’m sure it’s gonna be very tough. Every Sagat player is different, but the waiting game is what kills me
I’m up in the 9200’s now and on my way up there I haven’t played many Sagats. There were a few that were pretty good. But there couldn’t have been more than 2 or 3. I totally expected to see a lot more Sagat players. Then again, I’m from Europe so it’s possible that I miss out on a lot of players due to time difference and when I play guys from the USA, the connection isn’t great. Most of the time it’s 2/5 bars and I hardly play those matches.
But back on topic: Sagat’s gotta be your kind of character, I guess. In every SF, I like to zone and play defensively. I believe it’s my biggest strength as a player and Sagat gives me excellent tools to work with. If you’re not that kind of player then I guess it’s hard to enjoy playing him.
I do think Sagat has a lot of advantages. Slow characters have a real hard time getting in on him due to his Tiger Shots. He’s got tons of ways to land that Ultra. For example: I’m not super good dp’er vs jump-ins, so I usually trade Tiger Uppercuts and get a free Ultra for messing up, really. To get rewarded for not doing something correct is kinda strange. So I guess it’s unfair. Then again, every character has something that’s semi-abusable. But Sagat overpowered? I wouldn’t say so, I don’t steamroll every guy I play.
People that say that Sagat is overrated don’t use him correctly imho. He’s not up there in the tier list for nothing. His (imo) best tools, Tiger Shots and Knees, are really really good. But that doesn’t mean that you can abuse them for free. Yes, Sagat can get away with a lot of bs. Still, you need to put thought into what you’re doing. I see a lot of Sagats just throwing out stuff mindlessly and that’ll get you killed no matter how good the character is. Using Sagat isn’t a free win, you still have to play it smart. But it’s very true he doesn’t have to work as hard as the other characters.

There is a huge difference between leaving at the start of the match and leaving just before you are about to lose. One doesn’t want to put up with lag, and the other quit out of frustration or to save his precious BP’s. Now he goes and posts some BS about him doing it last second as a way of saying “your connection sucks” to his opponent.
shit had you quit in the first round i would have cut you some slack man.
rage quittin is dumb. you cant rage quit in a tournament, and making a come back with that amount of life is an important skill to have.
anyway to put it simply:
it takes skill to win with sagat.
it just takes slightly less of it compared to others.

Sagat isn’t in a tier of his own for no reason, personally his ultra needs to be tone down a bit it does to much damage.
Also the F.hk, ultra after a traded shoryuken is quite OP, 1100 HP 2nd highest? but I main sagat so what am i complaining for lol.
