Level 3 FA’s require you to charge before the opponent has decided to jump. I don’t play against many people that stupid
Sometimes you could accidentally be negative edging a light upper which will whiff. Turn on the inputs and make sure that your actually doing a hard upper
it could be a poorly timed jump away from a focus attack. I never said that the combos are likely… However, the opportunity does occur, and it would be smart to be prepared to deplete as much of their life bar as possible when you can.
TU FADC f+hk Ultra is brutal. How is the timing for the FADC into f+hk?
you just gotta be patient and after the FADC you wait until they are just passed the very top of sagat’s head… it seems like everyone has the exact same timing except for Gouken and Dhalsim. they seem to fall in slow motion and you have to wait even longer.
balrog and zangief are slightly different timings
Forgot to mention that the usual outcome is dashing behind them for the FADC after the TU.
do this
If you land a TU into FADC … fuck the forward round house. just ultra. You land it on hit - counter hit etc. It doesn’t matter. Once you are comfortable with that, then move on to forward round house ultra.
Learn to walk before you learn to run. Patience my friend
I’d rather land TU FADC ultra 10x in a row in tournament play, then land TU FADC F. RH Ultra 2 out of 10 times because I wanted to look like some youtube jap sagat player and end up losing my matches.
F. RH is the way to go, but give it time. Even though TU Fadc f. rh ultra is a combo - it’s really just a string of moves put together. First you do a TU like normal, then you do a focus attack like normal, then you do a forward round house like normal (which means you have to aim for the opponent, you cant just mash f. rh and hope it connects), then you have to time the ultra afterwards. When people see it like this it becomes easier to understand, when people see it done quickly in a video, and they see the list of shit they have to do, they get overwhelmed. One step at a time.
I have scrapped the fadc>f.hk. From my experience the only thing I go for now is TU>FADC(backdash)>Ultra
safest bet
If they block, you are safe. If they get hit you land ultra. If it’s a counter hit (opponent is twirling in the air) you land the ultra without the timing constraints of dashing forward. If you do TU FADC dash forward and the opponent is twirling in the air you have to pause for a little bit, then do the ultra for it to connect properly, back dash ultra is always a free ultra - can’t mess that up.
You’re supposed to back dash cancel the FA? Didn’t know that.
you can, it has different applications. In general it’s safer, and it gets you out of dangers day if blocked. However you can backdash out of range of the ultra. it’s give and take. the f+hk adds significant damage and should always be used in a combo, but straing TU FADC is an unreliable combo for damage without an ultra waiting. Often in a match you’ll counterhit TU, and FADC leaves you with few options for damaging follow through. Back dashing just settles for consistancy with less damage, i think you can tiger knee after a backdash FADC, but I don’t recall at the time since i only use it for ultras.
Yes, you can TK them, although you only get one of the hits. Not great for damage, but obviously you should take the extra damage when you can.
If you want to connect the foward+RH you need to FADC foward. Otherwise if you want to ultra immediately after the FA, dash back so that you are safe on block. Ultra will land after FADC back on a connected TU.
Ok guys I have to make a confession that has been eating at me for quite some time. I for the life of me not land a simple TU after a clk, clk, clp,xx tu. I cannot seem to get it down as much as I try. I have been getting away with clk, clk, xxtk. I know if I want to improve and step up my game this has to become second nature. I usually have no problem landing clk, clk, clp. But just cannot get that tu to connect. Any tips, suggestions, or input. Thanks.
Sure neemo. Try to imagine the combo is more like c.lk,c.lk>c.lp,TU. Just keep this in mind and you’ll see what I mean. Try to link the first two and the last two so you need the slightest hesitation in between that c.lk,c.lp.
neemo, there have been other posts on this too, but to save you the touble of filtering through some of the crap try this:
Firstly get the timing of c.lk,c.lk.
Secondly do c.lpxxHPTU. Use down forward and shortcut to the TU.
Thirdly just do c.lk, c.lk, c.lp. keep that down forward.
Finally put it all together c.lk, c.lk, c.lp xxHPTU. keep the stick/pad down forward as this makes the shortcut to TU part easier. Some might say it is more dangerous this way, but if you fluff the timing anyway you will eat something even if you were pulling down back. When you use this combo you are being agressive. I use down back for my block stongs to TS to be safer. One last point, use hard punch uppercut. The distance travelled is greater so even if you have been pushed back a bit you should hit the uppercut at the end.
f.lk, c.lp xx TU
Didnt see it on the thread when i browsed through.
probably completely useless info but counterhit overhead, c.lp links. Only on standing opponents though, lol.
ch c.mp, c.mp works too. hit ch c.mp x2, c.lp, TU today and made me happy =)
