Sagat Changes should be posted tonight

Sagat never won anything in vanilla either… does that mean his wasn’t good then? Guile is definitely better than Sagat.

Imo guile is way better. But it all depends on the player.

Neither did Guile, they both still don’t win anything, I don’t get what your point is. I would contest that Guile is not better than Sagat, and that they’re both fairly even characters. The primary thing Guile lacks is comeback power, or clutch–his damage output is really low. His U2 FADC combo is incredibly inconsistent and difficult and practically not worth landing most of the time since you lose one of the two 120 damage hits for doing so (it hits initially for 120, then 4 times for less, then 120 again).

Sagat’s U1 does 510 damage and can be landed off of any TU FADC hit confirm/random toss out, his U2 does less damage but is still easy to connect. However, he lacks the footsie damage output Guile has. He has more burst damage but much less sustained damage output–his bnb’s are also a bit harder to land I feel because of his lack of chains. His Focus Attack is also much, much better than Guile’s.

But I think what really keeps them similar is the level of precision you need to play them at. Screwing up your zoning game hurts the characters badly and without a lot of meter investment it’s not easy to step back into that range sometimes. Rush down characters can afford several mistakes in execution or judgment, a misplaced fireball or missing that one anti-air can lead to half your life disappearing. That’s why I don’t think Guile or Sagat perform stellar at the super high level play, it’s incredibly difficult and draining to play a solid enough zoning game to win at that level.

You would have to suck so bad at the game to screw up zoning with Guile. It’s piss easy since he doesn’t commit to lp booms at all.

I stopped reading this thread when I saw Eventhubs.

Fair enough Emblem.

Kich I respect your stance, but I respectfully disagree.

What sets Guile part from Sagat is that his footsie game destroys Sagat’s(does he even have one? lol)

His air grab starts up too quick(luckily it isn’t used that much online, but Daigo was abusing it)

Guile can punish TS’s on reaction with HP and Ultra 2, while Sagat better not even dream of punishing guile after a sonic boom on reaction.

And although he may not have Sagat’s comeback power, you have to often take damage to get in on him.

Fastest(I believe) meter build on projectiles, ex sonic boom one of the best projectiles in the game(outside of double air fireball In my opinion).

Sagat can get jumped on on waaaaaaaaay easier than Guile.

If I had to rank them out of 10 I’d give Sagat a 7ish/10 and guile an 8~8.5/10

Are we really arguing whether or not Guile is better than Sagat in this game? Really?

This isn’t the first time a thread has became guile v sagat

Saying something became Guile v Sagat should be code for drawn out and boring.

This movie is Guile v Sagat

I was at a party with some bitches but one of them dropped a drama bomb and it all became Guile v Sagat

^Lol that’s pretty funny

Focus attack should reach out further.

…And with this Guile vs. Sagat stuff, it will change when AE arrives. It won’t change drastically, but it will change certain aspects. The biggest is Guile’s meter building on booms, for example.

whats funny is that the strongest characters didnt even get a significant nerf (bison, chun, guile, balrog, gouki).

Out of all the changes they made, I think I’m most perplexed by the Angry Charge P to K button change,

They stated it was because people complained about unintentionally doing it? Okay, then I have just one question. Since it’s input is QCB, the opposite direction from all of Sagat’s specials, super, and ultras, how in the hell does one manage to do an accidental QCB? Let alone a double? Insanely sloppy playing? What?

Well, whatever, the change makes absolutely no difference for me. Just doing it with a different button now. No huge deal.

They are speaking about cross up situations. Since I always have to be aware of a cross up I’m always buffering so I can block either side, back dash either side or have a TU ready. That buffer however sometimes makes a AS appear when they cross me up and I try an auto correct TU. It’s pretty damn annoying.

I think making it a kick might make it easier to combo St.HK into it for that big cool combo lol

nerfs? oh my god sagats Tiger uppercut tickles compared to dan’s thank god they are making it stronger.

Sagat does not need nerfs he needed a stronger tiger uppercut, a stronger st.lk and non whiffing tiger knee.

Ah, yeah, I hadn’t considered cross up situations. I can see how that’d be a problem.

I completely agree. if they don’t want to give him too much advantage because of the trade TU xx f.hk…then remove the trade and give him more damage and 1 more invicibility frame. I don’t want to trade with Honda 120 fierce jump in in any case, and then go into f.hk. I don’t want to eat free damage from that fat ass piece of shit or any other character like that, that has body invicibility from projectiles on jump backs and jump ins. Let me anti air and remove that garbage…

just a stupid question…why if i srk with Ryu fadc ultra1 i get all the hits, but if i do TU fadc ultra 2 i don’t get all the hits?

Ryu raw ultra 1: 398
Sagat raw ultra 2: 384

Ryu srk (1 hit 100dmg) fadc ultra 1 = 398
Sagat TU (1 hit 100dmg) fadc ultra 2 = 334

note: full ultra meter…sad face

if its because of the number of juggle hits, then fix that !!!

FU*K YOU C®APCOM, why do you want his damage to be ASS TIER…WTFFFFFFFFFFF

So the event hubs description doesn’t even explain the supposed frame advantage buff to his LK tiger knee? If his tiger knees went unchanged then fuck it… just fuck it. LOL.

Ill still mess with him though he’s fun.
