Sabin SF4 Japan Q/A - match of the day: Barfights II

Someone sponsor Mago plz, thanks.

Yeah, someone sponsor Iyo as well & give him some incentive to come out of retirement too.

After you reach 400k BP, does your status become “God”?

has to be over 9000…k

o hey so what if the EC wants there money taken, itll simply make us that much stronger  where you WC foo’s at

Who knows maybe justin will beat daigo this time and sanford will surprise him…with DAN!!!

Still driving?

Art, you wouldnt happen to have that Wao vid u mentioned would ya?

yeah, i check his blog(Mago’s) from time to time, he’s been active, he won nagoya street battle and then went to nagano and beasted on everyone there with tokido, to quote parts of his blog:
*
at nagano,
he played 200 matches and lost 3 times (highest streak 72)
tokido played 200 matches and lost 6 times (highest streak 110ish)*

and yeah he been busy playin at bigbox too.

lol. I had no idea shit went down like this.

LoL!

I dare say I’ve never played any of these self-proclaimed SF ‘gods’ (), but I’d play all of them and, all things being equal, beat most of 'em! :nunchuck:

Excuse spouting hacks FTF. :coffee:

You still creep me out.

Art, how are people out there reacting to the news of SSFIV?

Good stuff with the updates and videos man, keep it up!

I heard one guy said “oh that’s cool” and then went back to playing Tekken 6.

i dont think 5-5 is accurate, watching japan play id say its 6-4 sagat vs most sagats…vs mago probably 7-3 tho, dude is straight cheap.

no sim sucks.
i still feel the same way i did before i left for the US, just i have a better understanding of the matchups compared to before.

heres the thing though…
just cause i might be beasting in japan, i said since the start, that were ONLY A MONTH OR TWO BEHIND japan when it comes to sf4.
look, ive been here for 45 days and already im a master. ther are people here with 3000 games played and still not master status at all heh.

its not like im gonna be automatically godlike when i come back, i can still see myself losing to the same people i lost to before i left. i just wanted to prove a point that a american player can hang in sf in japan, given that i have the same enviroment to train in as they do (strong arcade comp.) the only reason why justin doesnt do so hot in japan is because hes not here for long enough. japan style is weird at first, you get raped until you get used to their tricks, theyre not unbeatable by any means (but still strong players)

even if you have 90% wins, if youre playing people with low BP youll never be a master. i agree that BP isnt as important as everyone thinks it is, but it still means a lot more than being G1 on XBL. My Master status was achieved by playing nothing but top players at bigbox/trf and various arcades around tokyo.

haha no im not gonna write a book, but maybe i should put up a donation link cause recording and uploading these vids are hard work actually :stuck_out_tongue:

cause japans gay like that

yes

i smoke kool MIXX 8 (which is kinda like camel crush). also i smoke seven stars (which is kinda like old man cigarettes.) theyre dumb cheap over here. like $3 a pack. O.O

studying in my spare time here yeah
but also busy playing sf4 too

its pretty easy, actually knowing japanese sometimes puts you at a disadvantage, just ask azrael lolol

Might be a good chance of that well have to see. <3

sim is just as rare as it is in the US
hence why Iyo got sooooo much attention
sim is extremely unpopular here.
i played a few mirror matches but not that many.

the whole cast lol?
sim is low tier for a reason.
he can win but he has 4-6 matches against almost everyone besides ryu/ken and sometimes gouki (if u dont get knocked down lol) you might think im downplaying my char but im being serious. theres a reason why iyo is the most famous sim, sim has hella hard fights and i see that being here. not impossible to win but def hard.

as for ken, people mostly know whats up with him. not like he cant win though in a tourney, but hes unpopular (low tier) fo sho. props to chaos for reppin with him as hard as he has.

when i checked 2ch (at the time of console release) they didnt think that theme song fit the game. though japan is mostly ARCADE culture, not console culture so that might not be a factor as much.

japanese dictators arent really anything special for the most part.
theres not much that we already dont know about him.
best bisons in my mind are Kim1234 (ohayo1234) and Andre “TwistedJago”

i dont do this cause its harder to hit confirm super off raw standing fierce
its easier if i add b fwd
thanks for the tip though but im not gonna use this, gonna go for easier link always

i played mago the day after sbo when i was still “american style sim”, he fucked my shit up. he fucked up everyone at bigbox.

ahahah whats a G1!!?!? FREE!?!? TRAIN!?!?!
feel sorry for some of my online brothers like Geom Modinside, Kyokuji who have no choice but to play online lolol =/

win percentage has nothing to do with grandmaster
it has to do with the BP of the top 30-40 players currently.
the #30 person has at least 105000 BP so I think getting grandmaster is not doable right now unfortunately. a few months earlier i could do it with 60k

not choking in major events =/

bigbox comp is generally better than TRF so they going there instead of playing @ trf. trf is still dope comp during tourney time though.

i do, just wait a few days for me to upload it. its in my queue

hahahahah at MD/VA bringing this shit up, i thought they were going to mention the CF tourney for evo plane ticket where sanford beat me and people claimed i “threw the fight” for the empire…only for sanford to beat me at evo, that was lolz since everyone hated me at that tournament. but still Chocobo, thanks for the props, and actually it was MONTHLY gametime tourneys that i won not WEEKLYS.

hahah damn master now. congrats. i can’t wait to play you. <3

i’m understanding the matchup a little more especially from watching choi play vs filipino champ here… i’ll have some questions for you when choi starts losing but i don’t see that happening HAHA

EPIC FAIL AT THE END BY ME =/ lol

Hey art, since I’m pretty much out of the loop on what’s going on, well of course with a stronger experience with the japanese Sf4, how does it compare to north american SF4? although I’m pretty sure this was already asked.

And last, if I were to visit Japan, where would be a good place to go to play Sf4? I know arcades are everywhere there but where do you go to? or the top players?

and I know your not automatically godlike when come you come back to the states, but don’t you feel you have improved your sim because of the japanese?

I usually see you as an amazing player Art… and I have really been doubting you when you have been downplaying your execution, but damn… In that Gief match you were punnished for it:P

No offense ofc… You are still an amazing player… but you had that match!xD Full super and ultra, and you fail to do the ultra and end up as food for the red cyclone:P

Seems like there was hype in the arcade though? So its true what you said about the osaka fellows not being robots:D

Ah man, those were some good matches.

I suspected such about the japanese players. Your success over there really comes as no surprise to me. You definitely have made a point to all the japanophiliacs out there.
