So I hung around Shibuya Sports Land a lot. I saw buttons having to be replaced a few times, and every time anyone complained, it was fixed in 5 minutes or less. And this is usually just one guy doing it. I can imagine at every single other arcade, given the way Japanese people handle customer service in general, things get fixed as fast as fucking possible.
They’re also super fucking helpful. I’ve been in two arcades that also happened to be casinos with special change machines that given you coins for the slot machines, and even if I just approached the machine, the employee would warn me right away that it’s not a normal change machine.
So yeah, in almost any way you can think of, Japanese arcades are awesome.
everything is fixed immediately. you can be like “hey man this stick is sticky” and it gets serviced and you get a free credit. also most big arcades have stickers on the game telling you when the stick and buttons were last serviced. it rules.
haha not sure if you were watching the stream last night but i said like fuck emil, fuck 2channel, and fuck meru, shoutout to nerd josh, trans and forest fires lol
basically in this match in struggling not to get pushed torwards the corner. the more i get pushed to the corner the bigger chance i have of losing. so i have to start pressing buttons to keep him out, zangief player knowing this can just randomly jump, or press random lariat, if he guesses wrong so what, he lost 5, if he guesses right hes right next to me and most likely im gonna lose at least one third of my life its dumb
zangief is like a tank so he can afford to guess wrong 5-6 times no problem, especially with ex. i dont think its psychic, its only psychic when it hits just the risk reward is zangiefs favor a lot. The more im playing this match the more im starting to feel like its a 4.5 matchup for sim unless theres something i havent figured out
hehe theres no money time here its only for pride lol but i see what you mean also for every daigo comeback theres also times where he just did a dp and opponent blocked and died. people tend to remember only the moments where he landed the dp though lol.
i agree with everything else you said, though the green hands have to be random sometimes, i mean, its a calculated smart guess. plus he can afford to throw out green gands sometiems cause of his high stamina, of course some are intelligent guesses, like ex glove through fireball is obviously on reaction, but ex glove through limbs is a guess/prediction.
anyway yeah hes the fastest zangief ive played against, even itabashi zangief doesnt play like that, and hes a solid zangief too, and his air to air game is crazy
haha its ok every time i see a rufus player lose im kind of happy as well as sagat
id like to but you know, and of course tahts a good idea, since those sites are better than shitty ass stickam but im in a foreign country and i dont necessarily wanna tell them how to run their shit. its like the japanese players coming here and telling us how to run evo, feel me?
i dont know how it works exactly should ask someone like kim/az who can explain it in detail. all i know is to get a master/grand master status u need a really really high winning percentage at least 70%…otherwise youll just be stuck in the 20k/30k class like me forever lol
yeah, i like using ex fires more than super, cause its kind of hard to pull off short slie super in the clutch al the time lol. plus ex fireball forces them to move sometimes, and cant forget about how useful ex upflame is. it just needs a litle more invincibility.
but yeah i feel you. me and iyo play ifferent. i dont wanna carbon copy his style anyway, lots of people just try to xcopy stuff they see in match vids, without developing their own style or understanding why they do certain things. youll never be as good as the original if youre jsut a copy of their style.
hahaha cant get dro in japan, and yeah im running that shit back daily
haha relax dude, tourney isnt until next week i have plenty of time to sober up. thanks for the concern though. but yeah, just being in this country gives me sharper reactions. must be all that green tea detoxing the shit out of me lol
sake is kinda deadly, cause it doesnt taste strong, then you stand up and youre like oh shit im piss drunk
first time i had sake i got mindfucked by that cause i drank too much and then got up lol, so i try to keep hat shi tto just beer, besides japanese beer tastes good.
dunno if you watched the stream but there was some crazy dictator action in casuals.
best in canada? i dont know, wouldnt that go to air/scrubydan/temujin/heero/js master? im just going off placings from results and who ive played. of all those players temujin impressed me the most, but everyone on hat list is solid.
i wish you were here sanford!!!
dude no offense but why the fuck do we need to ‘wait’ for the japanese to do anything? have you not seen drchaos ken? shit is siiiick. its nice to come up with homegrown strats instead of waiting for the japanese to do it for us.
Yo Art I watched the livestream before the tournament of casual matches. What was it about that Rufus player that beat you out? I know you kept runnin’ it back and came close multiple times but overall he wouldn’t get off you. I guess I’m asking for your opinion on that rufus and the match-up with Sim. Is Rufus an overwhelming/fast/too powerful character for Sim or is it just something you’re missing or what. I’m curious cuz they were great matches.
Playing as Rufus against a really good Sim, I find it a really painful match because Rufus doesn’t have too many super great ways of getting in. I’m not the best Rufus in the world though. Once Rufus gets in, it’s lights out I guess. But I think Rufus has to guess right a few times to get in.
Kirisuto made it look a lot easier than it really is, I think.
After each day of Tougeki this year, I shit you not, they actually had races between the volunteers (most of whom are arcade employees) to see who could change buttons/sticks the fastest and whatnot. It was jokes man lol
the matchup blows, he has to think before he gets in, but once he gets in, theres really not much thinking involved, he can just abuse his priority from there on in.
there might be something im definitely missing though, havent figured it out yet. maybe option select crouch tech? (db jab short strong?) db jab? stand jab?
i tried not to get caught whiffing throws after divekick and blocking/b. strong, but in the 3rd round of tourney he just did divekick into throw hella times and it does way too much damage each time vs sim. its difficult to guess right in that situation.
where is that translation? 2ch? anyway i read the 2ch thread of srk, those guys are obsessed as fuck with me. also, they say hella things that they thought i said but in reality didnt say. i counted at least 50/70 references to my name during the trf tourney (in romanji/katakana,) cray. also they barely talk about when i beat master level players theyre just like free this free that hah! anyway most of the comments are pretty brutal from what i had translated. 2ch can eat shit and die
the same way it felt to beat a japanese player in a big tourney and have your win snatched away from you because the opposite team is a bunch of crybabies/sore losers. shitty. like i said b4, the sucky part is the matches we were fucking them up, youll never see so it makes us look free.
people try to do whatever they can to diss me here gameplay wise (taunts) and outside the game lol
wait im a little lost what are you referring to here? lol
Anyone know if Blanka still beats Gief? Originally it seemed to be really bad because of the unpunishable ball but now the ball is punishable and most giefs stop the ball period with cr. jab… so anyone know if its still a bad match or what
