Yeah there’s less rage quitting. However the servers are terrible and they might not even receive your results sometimes.
I stopped playing ranked since like August too and I’m waiting for the servers overhaul to grind again.
btw here’s the match between Fuudo and Strider in top 8 at FR:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsxeVR93yuo
I think Strider went too much for command grabs (compare the amount of whiffed CGs by both players) and wasn’t controlling the space well enough in the mid range scrambles. Also while his Laura has all the S2 confirms on point he basically has no setups and his neutral is not as good as Krone’s. He lacked some form of craziness that would’ve helped against seasoned players like Fuudo.
It’s also frustrating to see how much meter can Mika build to almost always have super available when Laura has to spend it all for other things.
What do you think?
Yes, the servers are a nightmare. I get the “failed to send results” message at least half of the time.
I think he just got beat. He hung on as long as he could, but could not seal the deal. Toward the end Fuudo had his number and he had nothing in him that Fuudo did not know how to answer.
As for Wolfkrone, I hate to see Laura lose so badly but f that guy. He had it coming a 100x over.
As for the game: Rage quitting is less of an issue. Almost non-existent. When it happens, the person who rage quits get hammered big and loses points anyways, so I wonder why it even happens anymore. I found the occasionally server doesn’t get the results initially, but the results do post later along with the point gain. Am I the only person who has noticed this?
Personally, I’m taking a break to finish Dark Souls 2. Left the game about 3/4th the way done and am having a good time with that one. Undead Crypt tho… FU. You can’t call the game cheap but its Dark Souls, but that place sucks.
During the Capcom Street Fighter 5 UK stream, they that today’s downtime is more maintenance.
Apparently some of the streamers have seen the patch notes. It could all be BS, but they said something akin to: “hey Laura players, you are going to need to be sitting down when you read the notes.”
I’m usually really calm about things, but if this shit is true imma go flip a god damn table. Not my table. Somebody else’s. But a table none-the-less.
I’m very anxious about these changes because they said they’re gonna “make Laura players pissed”. I just hope they don’t destroy the character right after it finally became functional because if they do I will probably just stop playing the game and fully transition to Overwatch.
Does any arcade have this game in Southern California? I need to plan just in case:

If she is nerfed Im also gone. Im getting very tired of characters getting safe specials, hit boxes that surround them and their fireballs, broken jabs that AA everywhere on the screen and are basically a fail-safe, and better movement wish dashed and command dashes while she gets just burst damage and a dash that everyone reacts no whether on hit or not. She still has a shitty overhead hurtbox, shitty grab range, shitty jumps, shitty neutral, a shitty fireball that everyone can jump into and cancel it, shitty AA that cant avoid crossups, barely any combos, specials that actually have long recovery frames on whiff and hit, yet other character like Ken, Karin, Ryu, Juri, Urien, Cammy, Balrog, Necalli, Guile, Ibuki, Rashido, Alex, and Akuma can throw out whatever they want and at worse be -2 or -3 or untouchable because reasons and this bitch has no fucking reach since their hitboxes reach halfway across the damn screen!
I am officially done with this game if they pull that stunt and taking my ass right back to Tekken full time.
I’ve had an impending sense of doom for the past week lol. You know, we Laura’s may have complained here or there, but we gutted it out in season 1 for a whole year. But Ryu scrubs (who outnumber us greatly) start whining and suddenly its okay to get out the nerf bat 3 months into a season? I know I should be patient and wait until official news is released but…
They also don’t have to contend with having a backwards fireball motion. The amount of times I’ve attempted an anti air only to get completely blown up is ridiculous. I know I’m not the only one with the problem. I see Laura’s lose everything because of this.
Balance is in! http://www.capcom-unity.com/combofiend/blog/2017/03/15/street-fighter-v-season-2-balance-update
I can’t stress how I’m relieved that she only got these two pretty small nerfs. Although I think the L bolt nerf will feel a little weird since we will now have to delay 1f to get a meaty L bolt off an EX/VT grab, but whatever.
Changes posted!! Looks like I won’t need a table.
Laura
L Bolt Charge (Normal/V-Trigger)
Reduced the active frames from 4F to 3F
Crouching LK
Reduced the advantage on block from +1 to 0
**Developer Comments: **Laura is a character who has seen quite a bit of a climb since the introduction of the Season 2 update. We are quite happy with her current performance and don’t think much needs to be changed.
That said, we did notice that she can feel a bit overwhelming once her offense gets started. We think that by ever so slightly reducing the effectiveness of a few of her attacks, which are used in her continuous pressure strings, players will now have more chances to move around, rather than feel overwhelmed. This also has the benefit of encouraging Laura players to develop even newer strategies against what counters may develop.
That was my first thought. Will this affect oki after regular sunset wheels?
The rest of the notes are on capcom unity
FANG got some nice buffs. Urien is going to feel some recovery pain on his EX headbutt and Chariot. Akuma got a bit more health. Guile’s V-skill was reverted back to s1 with 3 blocks. Zangief got buffed across the board and even got new moves. Check em out.
The adjustments were just that: adjustments. Minor at best. Well done capcom.
Nope, since it always hit on frame 2 anyway.
I think it’s a little dumb for a change because now she’s back at getting much less reward for popping VT and we’ll have to manually delay meaties even more, but it’s definitely not the worst change she could’ve gotten.
Those DP changes though… game got a lot more complex for the DP characters.
[] L Shoryuken attacks – maintain throw invincibility
[] M Shoryuken attacks – added airborne invincibility

H Shoryuken attacks – added attack and projectile invincibility
DP wakeup game is back for those characters. Its definitely a buff, but not the return of invincible DPs. That is a fair balance change.
No it isn’t, none of those DPs are invincible from frame 1.
Actually some are. Unless its a typo, not all the characters got all three. But for those who got the LP DP and MP DP, its from frame 1-6 of invincibility for throw/ AA. HP DP fireball invicibility is frame 3-6.
Ryu/Ken/Akuma got the MP/HP DP upgrade. Cammy got all three. Guile on got the MP version. Juri got LP/MP, but throw invicibility for 3-7 on the DP (weird). Necalli got none.
Needless to say, free bullying of the DP characters is out.
DP wakeup game is therefore non-existent against anything but throws. Meaties will beat any wakeup DP.
btw the more I think about it, the more I’m unhappy about the L bolt change. I dunno you but I think I’ll stop trying to use it after CG given the bad risk/reward ratio.
That is what I was also thinking. But not being able to throw on wake up or having that moment of hesitation does change some things. Not much but it is going to be a thought.
If they haven’t been using throw invincible DPs on wakeup since the beginning of S2 they won’t start using them now.
