More specifically, the Ren Hadouken and the Hadou-shoryuken replacing his regular hado and shoryu assists. As of now there’s no reason to use Ryu’s assists except MAYBE tatsumaki. These new moves would help Ryu’s assist game greatly, I could see Ren Hadouken functioning somewhat like Taskmaster Arrows helping his teammates get in, and Hadou-Shoryuken would probably be an average AA assist. Anyone agree?
Ryu’s Hadoken Assist is pretty good. It’s a single hit projectile that has a lot of hitstun. Not the best projectile in terms of durability, but one of the better ones for combos.

Also Hado Shoryu looks legit. It’s totally invincible during the CHARGE UP according to what I read here.
Air Baku Hadoken also seems to be better than grounded one according to frame data.
When buffed up, ryu’s assists become quite threatening. Since his moves become faster, they’re great to call out when needed.
Powered up Tatsu = poverty akuma assist as it creates solid blockstun.
Faster SRK’s are always handy.
And a faster Hadoken projectile is hard to pass up on.
I wouldn’t mind have the other as ‘assists’, but given how ryu traditionally had these, I can see why they didn’t change it. Plus, if he had those it would make him a little too good as an assist character. Hado SRK is pretty easy to setup, but only as a counter. If the opponent sees it they can easily evade/block it.
Ren Hadoken does overall more damage than both Tatsu + Hadoken as an aerial combo pre-ender.
