Ryus new move in cfas and ryu final manga

Gouki most likely doesn’t die in Ryu Final. He says to Ryu something like both of them are to clumsy at life to die, something like that. Ditto for Ryu who doesn’t die in the manga either, despite Gouki punching a hole through him with the Shun Goku Satsu.

As requested -

Wasn’t the move he defeated Gouki with though. It was this one -

That’s some crazy shit. Thanks alot for the pics Sano. I thought Ryu died in that manga? Plus he only got a hole punched in him. If not, then maybe he learned some tricks from Gill?

Wow Ive had this manga for a while thinking there was no english place to talk about it. Im so confused about it and feel like a toddler staring at the pictures.

I read the summary online somewhere but he said that Ryu just punches Gouki and Gouki melts or something like that. I knew the sparkly background wasnt just decoration, thats a concealed ki blast.

I think the devastating move Ryu does (Im not sure but if you look at the pics it causes a huge explosion and after all the damage Gouki deals, it almost evens them up with one move) is that Ryu had some caused some big ball of ki that travels into Gouki’s hand (is confusing the first time you see the pic) and then meets the energy inside and pushes against Gouki’s chest and you see an explosion out of his back and the necklace beads fly everywhere.

The art in the manga is amazingly detailed. Very talented guy (inside coverhas a pic of him…looks like a Japanese bam margera.)

The final move Ithought was just for the manga. He punches Gouki in the face and explodes some big energy. I couldnt tell if Gouki really died, it only shows him walking away into the fire and then Ken and Sean run to go help Ryu.

Question to anyone that reads Japanese thats still here. Can someone explain what goes on with the Ryu Sagat fight. I read somewhere Sagat achieves a an aura that blocks hadou/ki kind of attacks? And did Ryu manage to reiritate the scar on Sagat’s chest, or was that just accidental.

Also about Capcom All Stars. I saw the pics of it in the magazine before it was out. Did it come to the arcade or ps2, or was it scrapped before hand? Gamefaqs has no faq, code, or rela discussion on it.

I noticed Ryu did that Ryu Final move in a Mugen video I saw on youtube. I didnt know if it was coincidence or if some fan had Ryu Final and programmed that. Is it just ripped from the Allstars game?

Thanks

CFAS was scrapped before any place got it. The magazine Arcadia did feature info and pics for it though.

Ryu did make Sagat fight enough to reopen his scar, but it happened after their fight was over. Not sure about an aura, gotta check the manga again.

cool

then how did someone know he did that concealed explosive punch super in cfas? i doubt they described it in a description of a game that never came out. which pic (i can only find the ones from gamefaqs’ link) shows this move?

damn that came straight out the epic battle between raoh and kenshiro …:open_mouth:

I think he got an aura that blocks everything. You saw when Sagat fought Hugo, right?

??? Ryu and Sagat trade Tiger Crush and Shoryuken. Sagats scar reopens from the dragon punch. The wound happened during the fight.

I dont know if Sagat had an aura that blocks all attacks, but Ryu does at some point in that fight. Sagat wails away at him and there’s a bubble around Ryu that blocks all attacks. Sagat gets nailed in the back by a huge boulder and it does nothing to him. It doesn’t look like there is a barrier around him like there was with Ryu. Maybe it did hit him and he just pulled a no seel worthy of the Undertaker or Hulk Hogan.

You’re right, the wound does happen during the fight, I was wrong about that. It’s not from a shoryuken though. It’s from the Kaze no Kobushi, Oro notes this as Ryu and Sagat clash with their final moves. I’m guessing that Oro’s taught Ryu the move since he knows Ryu’s pulling it out, as well as the bubble that blocks attacks, if it’s a bubble. Although there’s a foot shown in one of the clash points, so I wonder if Ryu just parries all of Sagat’s attacks at that moment in their fight.

This Kaze no Kobushi isn’t the same one that defeats Gouki at the end of the manga, it’s an underhand variant that’s not powerful enough to destroy, only to “win against single blows.” The overhand final strike given to Gouki is designated as “Kaze no Kobushi without Diminishment,” as I’ve said earlier in this thread.

haha wtf, u watch that too. indeed this SrK is an awesome pplace

How the hell do you punch somebody’s chest open? You punch their chest shut!

I think with the Shippu no Ken, both are possible…

Looking back on it again, Ryu completely stole Terry’s Buster Wolf. Look at it and you’ll see.

ok… that Akuma is a little too reminiscent of the Alpha 3 endings’ “exploding stump Bison”.

and i think i’ve seen smaller Sentinels than that Hugo.

God I hope this is all explained when Udon translates this thing. It all sounds cool as hell, but I’m completely in the dark, just a 5 year old going by the pictures.

there was a beta version which had a limited number of playable characters. Ryu was one of them.

IGN & gamespot have records of the game:

There was also a beta test… which got pretty harsh reviews… which probably led to this game getting canned.

IIRC I have seen a vid of CFAS in which Ryu performs the Shippu no Ken / Kaze no Kobushi. It’s horribly underwhelming to watch – opponent staggers around in the bg, Ryu goes into horse stance, charges up and delivers a glowing punch to the chest of his opponent.

I hope so too.

you sir have brightened up my day. not yet my life, but hey you got time

also is udon really translating this sf manga or is it rumor?

The end of the fight scene in the SF Alpha: Generations movie makes somewhat more sense now.
