I dosent really matter what you see in the input window. The link from Solar Plexus to c.mp or c.hp can only be performed
in a 2 frame window at max. The 3rd input you see from your p-link wont fall into that window.
As long as you see HP input, within the 2 frames window your p-link did work. Hitting HP+MP+LP for p-linking C.HP after a solar
plexus just assure you you will get an HP on 2 consecutives frames even if you somehow miss your p-link. Its a safety net compare
to doing only HP+MP but its dosent , unfortunately, increase the linking window.
Hello, I’m using Ryu for now just to get a grip on the game, but then I’m going to go onto my favorites Cammy and Juri. How long would it probably take until I get a good feel for the game and its fundamentals, as I’m a noob.
Depends on your dedication and just how much of a “noob” you are. Is this your first serious fighting game? Have you read Maj’s excellent “footsies handbook”? (If not, Google it - it’s worth every minute!) Ryu is definitely a terrific beginner character, so I do think you’re starting in the right place.
For me personally, it took a few months to get the basics down, another few months to really iron out my execution, and footsies are STILL coming along. Just keep in mind that each character plays a little different, so not all the skills you learn as Ryu will translate to the other characters. Just something you’ll want to keep in mind.
I don’t think the stuff you will learn with Ryu will really transition well with Cammy. Ryu is a zoning character and relies heavily on footsies Cammy on the other hand doesn’t.
I dont agree with you, with Ryu you learn the fundamentals of the game, I tried starting with Fei and wasted 2 months of my life but after learning Ryu to get the hand on mastering the focus dash, I moved on to vega before going to Ken and then back to fei and learned fei in just 2 weeks. I even played cammy a little but I didnt like her personally but I could pull off all her combos because I am now used to 1 frames and 2 frame timing (ryu has alot of 2 frames and vega has mostly single frame for his cJab).
Use Ryu to learn fundamentals then head over to Cammy trust me it helps.
The closer, the better. It’s a little like Ken’s EX hadou > FADC > Ultra 2, but I find Ryu’s easier, as the timing feels less strict.
I’m not sure how big of a difference this makes as it may be player preference, but I always Cr. MK > Hadou > FADC > Ultra 2. I’ve found that as long as you’re close enough for the Cr. MK > Hadou to combo (so, not at max range), you should be able to land it.
EX SRK has 16 frames of invincibility, which is multiple times more than any of Ryu’s other SRK’s, plus it carries farther horizontally and can catch backdashes sometimes. I mean, if you’re really confident in your timing, then by all means use MP SRK instead and save that meter.
I like to use it on people who get all overconfident and try to Ultra you on your wakeup for the win via chip damage when you’re low on health.
I just realized that you can focus cancel the second hit of EX srk, so you can hit confirm and dash forward to combo or back to escape. If you want to spend 3 bars, that is.
Hi,
I printed the frame facs from shoryuken and study them. The standing Far middle punch have -1 on hit and cancel ability “su”. But its possible to cancel middle punch in to an special like dp or hurrican. Where is the fault?
